Chapter 7 - She Has S.A.D.

Pycus, one of the city's streets.

A group of people were walking in a steady, slow motion, but they were heading toward the military truck.

Around them were a group of men carrying weapons and wearing body armor.

Not far from them was a man with a muscular build, a square face with prominent cheekbones, and a light beard.

This was Marco Bianchi, whom Eden had entrusted with gathering the villagers to bring them to Osiro.

It wasn't easy at first; most of them were elderly, including men, and there were very few young men and children.

Because it was late at night, it was difficult to convince them that they would simply leave, but Bianchi succeeded after several attempts.

Of course, he never forced them, but his military skills gave him charisma and strength when negotiating, and they also carried weapons in their hands.

Even the women convinced their men after he told them about Osiroh and what was inside.

Finally, after all this time, he was sure he had gathered all the citizens except for one: a young woman who had been missing that night, and it was definitely Luzia.

All the citizens got in and carried their belongings, and at the same time, Eden sent orders to Bianchi.

After gathering the citizens, he had to return to the meeting point and meet them all.

After that, Bianchi and the volunteer men got into the truck and headed toward the meeting point.

On the other side, outside the school.

Eden and the others were looking at Jelian with different expressions.

Jelian descended from the top until he was in front of them, displaying a very powerful aura that even Rossi couldn't bear.

Jelian watched their expressions and realized that no one had ever seen his ability to regenerate his organs.

He sighed and felt relieved.

"Wow! You really are so strong! You were able to kill that huge snake all by yourself!!! Amazing!!!" Luzia shouted excitedly at Jelian, her eyes shining with a bright glow, indicative of admiration and amazement.

Jelian was confused by her amazement. Since the disaster, except for his sister, no one had ever praised him. Except for Nandi, he had never spoken to anyone except with insults, mockery, and murderous intent.

"Ahhhh... well... I was strong, so..." Jelian was very nervous.

He had forgotten what it meant to be praised by others. It might be easy if it was Nandi, but anyone else, especially a girl, was a different story.

"Your hair was completely black. How did it turn white? And also, how did your body become so muscular?" Luzia threw out questions, eagerly and excitedly.

"Well... ahhh..."

Jelian was barely trying to reply her questions, but Luzia continued asking and talking to him.

Rossi and Aiden watched them.

"Where did you get that monster? He dealt with it completely alone." Rossi asked.

"If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it. After what I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if he killed even ten Andreis."

"He has tremendous power. He could rival the rankers."

Immediately after this sentence, Aiden glanced at Rossi, which confused the latter, who thought he'd personally insulted him.

"I didn't mean to..."

"You didn't say wrong, but you should never underestimate the rankers." Aiden interrupted Rossi as he moved toward Jelian and Luzia.

He grabbed their shoulders and said, "Okay, okay, we've completed our mission, and we're going home."

He turned to the volunteers and said sarcastically, "Rest assured, we've avenged our colleagues."

The men looked at each other in surprise, confused as to whether or not to tell them.

But one of them took courage and said, "Ah, actually... that wasn't the monster we were talking about."

"Huh?!" Eden was surprised by their response. "If you didn't mean this monster, then what kind of monster are you talking about?"

One of them replied, worried and afraid, "Because of the darkness, we couldn't see, but it was as big as a house, and it had a strange and frightening voice, too."

"So there's still another huge monster out there," Eden snorted angrily, but he calmed down and ordered everyone to leave.

And indeed, everyone followed Eden and walked until they reached the meeting point.

Bianchi's group hadn't arrived yet, so they used their time to rest.

A few minutes later, Bianchi's truck arrived. It was the same truck the volunteers had driven on their mission before the situation deteriorated and they called for backup.

When the two trucks reunited, Eden got out and welcomed the citizens, reassuring them, promising them safety and prosperity in Osiroh.

The atmosphere inside the citizens' van was tense, but they relaxed a little after Aiden's speech.

Rossi met with Bianchi, and Bianchi knew exactly what had happened. His jaw nearly dropped in shock. He hardly wanted to believe what he was saying, but everyone agreed and acknowledged what had happened.

At this precise moment, the twilight light could be seen in the distance. After a while, it became clearer, and the sun had risen with the dawn of a new day.

Everyone was enjoying the view before them. The sky was painted an eye-catching orange-gold color, and this sight alone instantly washed away all their worries and exhaustion.

Graaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

The relief was not complete when a strange and frightening sound suddenly erupted in the air.

They turned towards the source of the sound and found themselves on one of the streets. It was a large mutant monster, larger than houses.

It had three cow heads, and its body was very fat and extremely wide, even larger than the truck.

It had eight strong, long legs, which helped the monster carry its body and move quickly.

The monster approached the pickup truck's assembly point.

All the regular radiators were confused and scared, and even the volunteers were there. Some were screaming in fear, others fell, their legs failing, and another was trembling in place but urinating.

"It's him! It's the same monster that killed our colleagues!!!" shouted one of the volunteers, pointing at the monster.

At the same time, Bianchi, Rossi, Omar, and even Jelian prepared themselves, preparing for battle.

Sseeeuuuuu....!!!, baaamm!!!.

Suddenly and shockingly, a giant column of green fire erupted. It was so intense and bright that everyone covered their eyes. The heat could be felt from meters away, as if they were standing in front of a blazing furnace. The flames extended dozens of meters in height.

"It's literally nothing," Eden wiped his hands and walked back toward the two trucks, leaving, as he said, nothing behind.

Due to the intense firepower, everything melted and disappeared without a trace, leaving only a huge black charred area.

Eden had destroyed a house-sized monster in mere seconds, leaving no trace behind.

The entire group realized that they too had a person with supernatural powers, and not just anyone, but someone ranked among the most dangerous people in Sunomia.

Finally, their mission was completed, and the two trucks set off, heading toward the new home, Osiroh.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

In the morning.

A girl with slightly light brown skin, soft black eyes, and beautiful brown eyes exuded beauty, innocence, and kindness.

Nandi had just woken up, exhausted, as if she had fallen asleep from exhaustion and fatigue.

She groaned and tried to open her eyes, but the morning light was too bright.

After a moment, she lifted her body and slowly opened her eyes, and saw that she was in an unfamiliar place.

It wasn't like the room she usually slept in. Instead, it was tidy and beautiful, with a modern design. The window was large and covered most of the wall.

Nandi looked around the room carefully and heard repeated beeping sounds beside her. There was a pacemaker attached to her chest, a tube connected to an ampoule on the back of her hand, and two bags, one containing a clear liquid and the other a dark red like blood.

"Where am I?" Nandi asked in a dull voice, not yet fully realizing that she was in a general hospital in Osiroh.

Creek!...

A nurse opened the door. She was wearing a green gown, slightly overweight, with blond hair tied back, blue eyes, and holding papers and a pen.

"Oh, you're awake!" she told the nurse with a bright smile.

Nandi responded with panic and fear. She even screamed and tried to get out of bed, but her left abdomen ached severely.

"No, ma'am! Don't move or your wounds will reopen!!" The nurse was confused by Nandi's movements, so she put the papers aside and moved toward Nandi.

Nandi's panic quickly increased as she approached her. She flailed her arms and legs, completely oblivious to the injury.

"Get away from me!! Please get away!!" Nandi cried, sobbing loudly and in fear.

"Okay, okay, okay!!! I'll move away! I'll move away..." Nandi's reaction was so sudden that she panicked and took a few steps back.

Nandi calmed down a little, but she was still crying, looking fearful and breathing heavily.

"I'm just going to change your blood bag, okay? Okay? I won't do anything else," the nurse asked calmly.

But Nandi didn't respond and didn't do anything at all.

After a while, the nurse moved slowly and deliberately, raising her hands high, to frighten the patient. Nandi was trying to move away slowly toward the edge of the bed. She didn't turn to the nurse, but watched her from the corner of her eye.

The nurse reached the pole from which the blood bag was hanging. "I'm going to change the blood bag, okay?" the nurse asked cautiously. But Nandi didn't respond either, watching her from the corner of her eye. Her body was shaking slightly, and she was breathing clearly.

The nurse changed the blood bag and slowly walked to the room's door. She looked up, calling for the doctor to come.

The nurse stood by the door and waited for the doctor to arrive.

A few minutes later, the doctor came running and asked the nurse, "How is the patient? Is there anything wrong?"

"The patient suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and was extremely afraid of me. I couldn't get close, but I just quietly changed the blood bag," the nurse replied anxiously, feeling guilty and worried about the patient.

The doctor entered the room and introduced himself. He was thin and tall, wearing rectangular glasses, with a long face and a youthful appearance.

"Good morning, Nandi Farouq. I'm Dr. Haruki Tetsuya. How are you feeling today?" the doctor asked politely, tactfully, and professionally, with a formal expression.

Nandi didn't respond; she had already looked away, her expression still dark and fearful.

"Miss Farouq, I hope you're not feeling any discomfort or mistreatment. You're now at Osiroh Central Hospital. You can rest assured that you're safe." The doctor approached slowly, speaking calmly and politely. Nandi remained silent.

The doctor stood close to her. Nandi was extremely flustered, and her hands began to tremble.

The doctor observed her every movement from the moment he entered. He noted her pulse, breathing rate, skin tone, and body temperature. He also noticed a change as he approached.

He took out his stethoscope and said, "Miss Farouq, may I check your breathing?"

As his hand approached, Nandi panicked and moved her body away from the edge of the bed, covering her face with her arms. Her body was shaking violently, and loud gasps could be heard as she moaned softly.

"Okay, okay, don't worry, Miss Farouq. Nothing will hurt you." The doctor immediately removed his hand and took a few steps back.

When she stepped back, her tension eased slightly, but not completely, and she slowly opened her eyes as she watched the doctor.

The doctor confirmed his theory; he simply wanted to test her reactions, and it worked.

The doctor knew that she didn't suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. If she did, she would have been screaming in panic and fear as soon as she woke up, unaware of what was going on around her. No matter how intense the panic, it would only be temporary, and then she would have calmed down completely.

However, Nandi had a different case. She was aware of her surroundings and showed no signs of panic or fear except when she was approached or spoken to.

This means that she had Social Anxiety Disorder - (SAD), a condition in which a person becomes tense and fearful when others are around them or when they are spoken to. Reactions include attempts to distance themselves or remain completely silent when spoken to.

The doctor knew all of this with experience and intuitive speed. A simple, quick test is enough to determine the patient's condition, and this is a type of advanced skill for a professional doctor.

The doctor wasn't 100% certain of the validity of this disorder, but it was the most likely possibility.

The doctor was reassured for two reasons. First, he recognized her psychological problem, and even if it was merely a possibility, that was enough to act accordingly.

The second was that he assumed it was a severe social anxiety disorder. In other words, she had never had it before and had developed it after the major disaster. This meant it would be temporary and would go away with time if she got used to being around strangers and talking to them.

Although this was all just speculation, the doctor believed it and wanted to believe it too.

The doctor walked over to the window and pulled back the curtain completely. Sunlight streamed in, brightening the room.

"Isn't it beautiful? Look at the trees and the nature, and the birdsong, don't you agree? Miss Farouq," the doctor said, his face beaming as he turned to Nandi.

Nandi looked out the window. She could see buildings and shops that had just opened, and people and cars were walking along the street.

This sight deeply reawakened her memories of her old life in Corredith.

Dr. Tetsuya smiled, her trembling and fear fading, as she gazed thoughtfully at the window.

"Here in Osiroh, you can feel safe and healthy, and you'll return to the old life you once lived," the doctor continued.

Hearing his words, Nandi lowered her head slightly and clenched her fists.

A moment later, she broke down in tears and screams.

"Aaaahhh, I want Jelian!! I want my brother!! Where are you, Jelian!!!! Aaaahhh!" A torrent of tears streamed down her face, The nurse's emotions were deeply affected.

The doctor took out his phone and said to Nandi, "You want to talk to your brother, don't you? I'll call him right away so he can come here."

Nandi stopped crying for a moment, seeing the doctor calling Aiden and informing him of Nandi's condition.

"He said they've already arrived, they're here!"

Nandi was surprised and happy, but she continued to cry.

Tp tp tp, tap tap tap!, TAAP TAAP TAAP TAAP!!

He could hear the sound of running footsteps, getting closer and closer.

He reached the doorstep. A boy dressed in black was panting and breathing heavily.

"Jelian!!!!" Nandi cried out at the sight of her brother, a deep sense of happiness filling her heart.

"Nandi!!!" Jelian cried out as he ran towards her, hugging her tightly, tears streaming down his face.

The doctor and nurse were moved by the sight. The doctor smiled, while the nurse was deeply moved and already in tears.

After seeing Jelian and Nandi embrace, they were happily reunited.
