Chapter 337 - After Drifting for Half My Life, I Never Found a Worthy Lord. If You Will Not Forsake Me...

Loki wanted to change this terrible future.

His parents were still alive on this timeline. His own death, and theirs, belonged to the future. As long as he acted now, there was still a chance to prevent it all.

At least, that was what he believed.

"We're good at surviving, and we're good at running away. That means we still have a chance!" Loki declared loudly.

Black Loki shook his head.

"You're not good at either. You'll get yourself killed."

"So be it!"

Loki had had enough. Was he supposed to stay trapped here forever, exiled for endless years until he became like Old Loki?

Living in regret, wondering whether Thor still remembered him?

That was pathetic.

They were gods—long-lived beings who could live for tens or even hundreds of thousands of years.

If the TVA wasn't stopped, they would spend countless years hiding and running.

That was not the life Loki wanted.

Even if he died, he would rather die charging forward than waste away as a coward.

Perhaps that was the lesson he had learned from the future he had seen.

The Loki of the Sacred Timeline had not disgraced the royal family of Asgard.

Neither would he.

Even death would be preferable to surrender.

After only a few days in this place, he already felt like he was going insane.

He couldn't imagine spending ten years, a hundred years, or a thousand years here.

"I was always destined to die!" Loki roared as he turned around.

Kid Loki looked at him thoughtfully.

"You're different from the rest of us. Why?"

"No," Loki replied. "I'm not different at all. I'm exactly like all of you."

Then he asked:

"Have any of you ever met a female Variant?"

"That sounds terrifying," Old Loki commented.

"She is terrifying," Loki admitted.

"But that's exactly what makes her special."

"She isn't trying to take over the TVA. She wants to destroy it."

"And she needs me."

As he said those words, his emotions surged.

For the first time, he understood why Thor would risk everything for someone he loved.

Why someone would willingly abandon power and status.

Because sometimes a person becomes more important than your own life.

Now Loki had finally found someone worth giving everything for.

He had to leave this place.

He had to find Sylvie.

Outside the screen, Tony Stark turned toward Thor.

"Thor, have you ever seen Loki act like this? Is he in love?"

Thor looked confused.

"I've never seen him like this before."

"Is he really in love?"

The Loki he knew had many flaws, but being a lovestruck fool was never one of them.

Of course, Thor still didn't know the truth:

Loki had fallen in love with another Loki.

If he did, his worldview might shatter completely.

Back in the Void, Kid Loki nodded.

"You said we're trapped here because of Alioth."

"You said it was alive."

"You called it a shark."

His eyes lit up.

"If it's alive, then it can die."

Loki clenched his fists.

"Then I'll kill it."

"I'll kill Alioth."

"I need your help."

The response?

Laughter.

Every Loki present burst out laughing.

To them, the idea of killing Alioth was absurd.

Old Loki laughed so hard tears nearly came out.

"Wonderful! That's hilarious!"

These Lokis weren't born hopeless.

They had all resisted before.

They had all failed.

That's why they had given up.

But Loki refused to surrender.

He still had a reason to escape.

Just as he was about to leave, he opened the hatch above them.

Only to discover another army of Lokis waiting outside.

Leading them was President Loki.

Even Tony Stark couldn't help complaining:

"Are we sure this is a dumping ground and not a Loki breeding farm?"

There were simply too many Lokis.

President Loki looked at him.

"Hello. Which Loki are you?"

Even Loki himself looked stunned.

One group of Lokis had already been overwhelming.

Now another had appeared.

"This is a nightmare," he muttered.

Soon, he was forced back underground.

The two groups faced each other.

On President Loki's chest was a campaign badge that read:

"LOKI FOR PRESIDENT."

The sight left the Avengers speechless.

An alien god running for president?

That was absurd.

Black Loki shouted angrily:

"You idiot! You brought wolves into our home!"

"We think snakes are a more accurate comparison," President Loki replied with a grin.

Kid Loki stepped forward fearlessly.

"I've killed things bigger than them. They all die the same way."

At that moment, Black Loki suddenly raised Mjolnir and pointed it at Kid Loki.

"Sorry, Your Majesty."

He had betrayed him.

"Now I'm king!"

Black Loki laughed triumphantly.

The Avengers couldn't believe it.

Even among Lokis, there was betrayal.

Then again, perhaps that was perfectly normal.

Even if the entire universe disappeared and only Lokis remained, they would probably still be plotting against each other.

"I told you," Hawkeye sighed, "there isn't a single good Loki."

For once, Thor couldn't argue.

The situation was simply too ridiculous.

Black Loki had barely begun celebrating when President Loki smiled.

"About that…"

The moment he spoke, the Lokis behind him all drew their weapons.

President Loki had never intended to honor their agreement.

Black Loki stared in disbelief.

"You can't be serious!"

"I gave you our location!"

"You promised us protection and supplies!"

"Give me your army and I'll take the throne!"

Outside the screen, Tony shook his head.

"He's a Loki himself. He knows how betrayal works. How could he trust another Loki?"

Clearly, Black Loki had lost his mind.

President Loki sneered.

"That's a terrible deal."

"How about this instead?"

"The army is mine."

"The throne is mine too."

A classic double-cross.

But betrayal breeds more betrayal.

The instant President Loki finished speaking, his own followers turned their weapons on him.

President Loki froze.

"You idiots! Why are you doing this?"

"We had an agreement!"

Unfortunately, he had forgotten one thing:

Every single person there was a Loki.

If he could betray others, they could betray him too.

After all—

"Having drifted through life without finding a worthy lord, if you will not abandon me…"

Every Loki dreamed of being king.
