Chapter 201 - How Is Asgard Both Amazing And Lame?

Lin Feng didn't quite grasp his own thoughts, but he instinctively hid the existence of his diary system, including the lottery wheel and the abilities he'd gained.

In his mind, this was a core secret even more important than his identity as a transmigrator, a true secret he'd take to his grave.

The diary entries, filled with the mysteries of this world, were merely a way for him to express his homesickness, as well as a necessary task to complete each day's update.

"Alright, let's fight!" Thor also needed to vent his anger.

In the arid Sahara Desert, storm clouds suddenly appeared in the sky, followed by the surging power of lightning, forming numerous lightning dragons.

No matter how many times Lin Feng teased him about being the Hammer God instead of the Thunder God, he was, after all, Thor. He was different from those who gained control over lightning later in life.

He was born with the power of lightning, sharing a portion of the authority of this universe's grand laws.

Because he wasn't the only Thunder God!

Even among the gods, Thor was a High-God, but he wasn't the only Thunder God.

For example, there's another God-King renowned for his thunderous power, Zeus of the Olympian pantheon.

Thinking of this, Thor swung Mjolnir, the power of thunder growing more intense. A field formed around him, surging towards Lin Feng.

Lin Feng floated in mid-air, watching the electric snakes coil around him. They only made him feel a slight tingle before dissipating, posing almost no threat.

"Not bad, but it's not enough!" Lin Feng declared.

Since gaining Homelander's power, although he hadn't yet reached its peak, there were few in this world who could truly be considered his match.

He hadn't had a good fight in a long time.

In a flash, Thor transformed into a streak of light, charging forward.

Bang!

The two forces collided, creating a terrifying surge that rolled outwards. Fortunately, there was nothing here but sand.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

The two figures were like streaks of light, constantly colliding in the sky. The sand beneath them began to crystallize, and the intense impacts formed a massive storm center.

Meanwhile, inside S.H.I.E.L.D., everyone had just finished watching the death of Thor's mother and were looking at each other.

"They're so ugly," Hill couldn't help but complain. Although she was a top-tier agent, she was still a woman, and at this moment, she couldn't help but find the Dark Elves to be too ugly.

They didn't look like what she saw in the movies. The elves in the movies were all so beautiful. Were the Dark Elves the only ones who were ugly?

"They're a bit ugly, but their technological level isn't weak. First of all, they have spaceships that can reach Asgard. That alone makes them much more formidable than us!" Nick Fury said. "And then there's the camouflage, which is almost invisible to the naked eye. It doesn't even make a sound. It's just that the Asgardian seemed to have other means of sensing the existence of his spaceship, otherwise, they almost got away with it. This is incredible. The technological level of this thing is very high!"

Nick Fury didn't know the black man was Heimdall. After all, in mythology, Heimdall was a fair-haired, blue-eyed white god, and a descendant of Odin.

No one said a white Odin could produce a black descendant.

Everyone nodded. Although they found it absurd, the combat power displayed by both Heimdall and Asgard seemed like a load of rubbish.

But there was no doubt that some details were enough to demonstrate the superior technology they possessed, or perhaps, superior magic?

It felt similar to when they first saw the Chitauri. Watching these beings, who clearly had the ability to travel through space and possibly even across dimensions, fight with cold weapons felt incredibly out of sync.

You could say they were powerful, but they didn't quite match the image of gods. You could say they weren't powerful, but Earthlings really couldn't do some of the things they did.

Even the Asgardians were like this. You could say they were powerful, yet they only needed a few spaceships to reach your capital and your palace. But then again, some of their technology was simply beyond your reach.

For example, when burying Queen Frigga, the river flowing out of Asgard truly revealed the truth. It wasn't on a certain planet, but in a certain dimensional plane, operating the world in a way that Earthlings couldn't understand.

It felt like how people in China today view Europeans and Americans. You could say they aren't that impressive, but they excel in certain fields, and they make a fortune from technology patents.

But if you said they were impressive, it would feel like you were selling yourself short; their shortcomings are often staggering.

They're both impressive and unimpressive!

"As long as these aliens don't involve us, we'll be fine. It's a great feeling. I feel bad for Thor, but finally, something's happening purely between alien races, and it has nothing to do with us; we don't have to rack our brains figuring out how to deal with it," Hawkeye (Barton) shrugged.

Especially for someone like him, who's a so-called superhero but is really just an ordinary person, he feels powerless when facing major events.

So, seeing that something has nothing to do with Earth, he felt incredibly relieved.

He could finally watch this unfold purely as an observer.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark was considering the details revealed in the video, such as Energy Shield technology and beam weapons, which were already widespread in Asgard and among the Dark Elves.

He didn't know how difficult it would be to achieve these technologies through magic, but from a purely scientific perspective, it would be extremely challenging.

The Dark Elves' ships could achieve complete invisibility. This wasn't like Earth's stealth fighters, which only hid from sight. These ships were invisible to radar and every other detection method.

They could even make their sounds disappear.

If it weren't for Heimdall's extraordinary senses, they might not have been detected at all.

Their technology was far superior to his armor.

But the crazy thing was that these two advanced civilizations used cold weapons, can you believe it?

They mixed some modern weaponry into their arsenal, as if they hadn't gone through an industrial revolution. It was like they'd skipped straight from the age of cold weapons to the space age, while still keeping characteristics of both.

"Wait a minute, their social structure is completely different from humans. They might not have had an industrial age at all. Maybe they jumped from the cold weapon era straight to the space age by focusing on magic!" Tony Stark stroked his chin, thinking hard.

If it were a technological civilization, it wouldn't make sense.

But if it were a magical civilization, anything was possible. He hadn't truly encountered a magic-based civilization yet, and he didn't know if they could skip the industrial age and go straight to the space age.

It was a spacefaring civilization with clear magical characteristics.

Of course, he hadn't seen a spacefaring civilization of any kind, whether magical or scientific.

For example, from a scientific civilization's perspective, entering space required at least nuclear fusion as a power source, and the ability to travel at the speed of light. Otherwise, it would be impossible to even leave the solar system.

But these magical civilizations were really hard to measure using those standards, at least Tony Stark couldn't.

"But whether it's Asgard or the Dark Elves, it seems like there aren't many people!" Tony Stark said. "The legendary Asgard looks like the size of a small city. I don't think they have many people. And looking at the images in the videos, there are high-rise buildings, but not many, and they're not very tall. So, from the living area, I can probably tell that there aren't many people, unless they can tolerate a much smaller living and survival area than Earthlings!"

"The Dark Elves' invasion was just one mothership and a few small ships, and Asgard's defenses don't seem like much either!" Tony Stark was still finding it ridiculous just thinking about it.

But when he thought about the Chitauri, who fit his vision of a spacefaring civilization, he relaxed. Maybe magical civilizations were just like that.

For example, on Earth, if you considered the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj as a civilization, the combat power this civilization possessed was enough to shock the universe. The Ancient One had slaughtered demons that could circle the solar system. What level of combat power was that?

If those demons were all based on Dormammu as a standard, then Kamar-Taj could stand at the pinnacle of the universe on its own.

Even the Ancient One didn't need those sorcerers; she alone could have formed a god-level civilization.

That's probably the magic of magic-based civilizations!

It's completely different from technology-based ones!

"It's also possible that these civilizations have low birth rates. From the existing data, the Asgardians have very long lifespans. In that video, Thor lived for nearly a thousand years. Although we don't know if ordinary Asgardians also have such long lives as Thor, it's a reasonable guess that they live much longer than ordinary humans!" Jarvis said at this moment. "This also fits the normal natural law that long-lived species have more difficulty reproducing!"

Tony Stark thought about it and it seemed to make perfect sense. Not to mention other planets, it's the same on Earth. The higher the level and the longer the lifespan of a creature, the lower its reproductive efficiency. The lower the level and the shorter the lifespan, the more amazing the birth rate.
