"Lin Feng also said that was from a neighboring universe. Didn't you notice?" Odin glanced at his reckless son with some exasperation.
"Right, that's from another universe. So our universe probably doesn't have anyone like that. Our speedsters are likely on par with Quicksilver," Thor said, feeling somewhat relieved.
Thinking this way made things easier to digest—otherwise, if all speedsters were that powerful, just one collision could reduce someone to ashes.
"Wait, but if this Flash really reaches that speed… wouldn't there be someone faster each season? That sounds a bit absurd," Hawkeye Barton chimed in.
Everyone thought about it—he was right.
If Barry Allen, the Flash, could reach such ridiculous speeds, then someone faster than him would have to be… utterly unbelievable.
"If such speedsters fought each other, they might leave Earth in an instant. No—they could even crush Earth with a single step…" Tony Stark immediately realized. "This universe is terrifying."
Stark understood that in a universe filled with such beings, survival would be utterly unsafe. Even in a Mark armor, he'd be crushed in an instant.
"However, Lin Feng might be right. If all speedsters are this fast, Quicksilver's death is kind of ridiculous. I'm starting to believe in his 'copyright theory,' though I don't know what that entails…" Natasha admitted.
"No way… how could anyone rescue so many people during a nuclear explosion?"
Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) was overwhelmed with disbelief.
Even if he couldn't calculate the exact speed, there was no doubt it was extremely, extremely fast—far faster than himself.
Could anyone in the world really move that fast? As a human, it seemed absurd.
"The crazy part isn't even his speed," Wanda pointed to a diary entry. Flash ran back in time to see his deceased mother. "He just wanted to go back—and he could. Can you do that? Can you take me to see my parents?"
Quicksilver deflated immediately. He wanted to see his parents too, but he had no way to achieve it.
"Banner, as a physicist, is it theoretically possible to travel back in time by exceeding light speed?" Natasha asked, referencing the diary entry where Barry Allen seemingly went back in time.
"Absolutely impossible. No matter the speed, you can't go back in time. At most, exceeding light speed lets you observe past events—like seeing the stars. They already happened; seeing them doesn't reverse time," Bruce Banner explained.
"From a theoretical standpoint, just running faster than light won't let you travel back," Tony added.
Even someone like Tony, who previously would have scoffed at the idea, now realized Lin Feng's diary suggested that some things were beyond their understanding.
"If we take the diary at face value, it implies such events might exist… even if we can't do them ourselves," Tony concluded.
"Maybe some other ability is involved?" Agent Hill speculated. "The body alone couldn't run that fast. There must be some unknown power enabling the time travel."
"But if he could go back in time, why didn't he save his mother?" Hawkeye asked, puzzled.
"Because of the grandfather paradox," Banner said. "Your grandfather must exist for you to exist. If you kill him, you won't exist, and then you couldn't have killed him. It's a paradox."
"So, becoming the Flash might depend on his mother's death. If she survived, he might have taken a different path and never become the Flash. Lin Feng's diary repeatedly emphasizes that every choice can create a new timeline. Without becoming the Flash, he couldn't go back to see his mother. That's the paradox," Banner continued.
"So, the multiple Flashes are actually the same person from different future times. They go back to see their mother but are aware of each other and don't interfere?" Hawkeye concluded.
"How many Flashes could there be? Could it accumulate over time, so many end up on rooftops that the building collapses?" he asked.
In the U.S., wooden structures are common—even in malls and apartments—so such a scene could be plausible.
"No, theoretically, there isn't an accumulation. No matter how many Flashes run back, the moment of his mother's death occurs as a single point in time. If the building didn't collapse, he probably wasn't on the roof," Tony explained. "Maybe outside the window, the door, or the bathroom?"
"If we had a Flash during a Chitauri invasion, that would be amazing. He could solve everything before we even fought!" Hawkeye imagined.
Everyone thought about it—how much effort would that save?
Only Tony frowned slightly—another parallel Earth with superhumans, some unbelievably fast. Could Earth really hide so many secrets that it became the focus of countless forces?
Before they could ponder further, Lin Feng's diary displayed a video.
In a typical American wooden house, Barry Allen, wearing a leather suit with a large lightning bolt on the chest, appeared.
Everyone immediately recognized him as the Flash.
"Mom!"
Young Barry Allen's voice called out from outside.
Barry opened the door, and through his perspective, they saw his family trapped in a chaotic clash of red and yellow lightning.
The Flash and Reverse-Flash moved faster than the eye could see.
The windstorm they created wrecked the house.
However, the speed didn't seem as exaggerated as Lin Feng described.
If it were truly that fast, the storm could have destroyed the whole town.
The lightning looked impressive but wasn't far beyond Quicksilver—more like comparable speeds.
