Chapter 26 - Tony Has a Warm Heart

Lin Feng was becoming numb. The timeline had deviated quite a bit from what he had imagined. Tony Stark hadn't gone to Afghanistan. Instead, he had dealt with Obadiah ahead of schedule and created his own Mark Armor.

He'd been flying around in the sky for the past few days, showing off.

Others didn't know who was inside, but Lin Feng could tell at a glance that it was Tony Stark. Today was just the day Tony Stark officially admitted he was Iron Man.

Without the life-or-death experience in Afghanistan, Tony Stark still had that realization and shut down the weapons department. This was beyond Lin Feng's expectations.

He had thought this time around, Tony Stark wouldn't choose to shut down the weapons department, but he did. However, Stark Industries was now Tony Stark's domain. The other shareholders were either locked up like Obadiah or dared not defy Tony Stark's authority.

Seeing this, Lin Feng could only say, "Perhaps, this is the power of plot correction!"

No matter how absurd this timeline became because of his arrival, the timeline could still be fixed. Tony Stark, the soul of the Marvel Avengers, would ultimately do what he was supposed to do.

The next thing should be the massive drop in Stark Industries' stock prices.

Lin Feng immediately called his stock manager, instructing him to buy up all the shares of Stark Industries while they were plummeting.

When Tony Stark announced the advent of the new clean energy source, the stock would soar again. According to Lin Feng's estimates, he could earn at least 100 million dollars from this wave, achieving complete financial freedom.

Although still a huge gap compared to a wealthy tycoon like Tony Stark, it was already quite good. At least, it was enough for Lin Feng at this stage.

Meanwhile, backstage at Stark Industries' press conference, Tony Stark ignored the numerous reporters' questions and turned to leave the venue.

Behind him, Pepper Potts quickly caught up and asked, "Tony, why didn't you ever tell me that you were Iron Man?"

"Emmm, how should I put it, Pepper? This is a complicated matter, but now you know!" Tony Stark pondered, unsure how to explain it.

He absolutely couldn't tell Pepper about the diary. Many things recorded in it were very dangerous, and he didn't want to involve Pepper in these unknown risks.

Of course, more importantly, Tony Stark and Pepper Potts hadn't reached that stage yet. Although they were closer than ordinary boyfriend and girlfriend, they hadn't quite crossed that line.

"How can I possibly feel at ease with you like this? You're flying around all the time. What if something goes wrong?" Pepper Potts couldn't bear to imagine what would happen if the Mark Armor malfunctioned and Tony Stark fell from the sky.

"Hey, Pepper, you have to trust my technology. Nothing will go wrong!" Tony Stark said, trying to reassure her.

He was still very confident in his own abilities. Although he was beaten badly in his first appearance in the previous video, that was entirely due to the size difference, plus the fact that his Arc Reactor wasn't complete. That's why he was so miserable.

"Believe me, I've thought this through very carefully!" Tony Stark continued to reassure her.

He couldn't tell the truth either. After all, he couldn't say that in a short while, if things went wrong, he might face an alien invasion, a god's invasion, and ultimately, he would most likely die, right?

"And Tony, why didn't you ever discuss shutting down the military industrial department with me?" Pepper Potts said angrily.

She was about to be driven mad by Tony Stark. She felt like her whole life was spent constantly cleaning up after him. This guy, although a super genius, was also a super willful bastard.

From all sorts of things in the company to all sorts of things in life, there was almost nothing that didn't give her a headache.

"How should I put it… I discovered that Obadiah was exporting our company's weapons to those warlords in the Middle East, causing countless deaths and injuries. You know, for me, I make weapons to protect my people, not to kill innocent civilians. My conscience can't take it!" Tony Stark said.

Pepper Potts looked at Tony Stark in shock, seemingly surprised that he could say he was suffering from a guilty conscience. Although she knew that Tony Stark was essentially a good person, he had also been a weapons dealer for quite some time. Could he really have been deaf to those things?

Facing Pepper Potts's doubts, Tony Stark said, "I don't want to waste my time on fighting with the humans on Earth!"

Tony Stark spoke his mind. Ever since he learned about numerous aliens, gods, and even the threats of the multiverse, he suddenly had no interest in the infighting on Earth.

As if he had discovered a brand new toy, he regained his enthusiasm. He wanted to protect humanity from those threats. For him, who considered himself the true protagonist, he immediately convinced himself to throw himself into this great cause.

"In short, I have my own considerations. As for the company's profits, I have other ways. I'll submit a plan to you later, take a look. I have a completely new source of income, and I can earn much, much more than now!" Tony Stark concluded with a final word.

And Pepper Potts, seeing this, could only give up on continuing to persuade him. She knew Tony Stark's habits too well; once he made a decision, that was the final decision.

"In that case, I'll wait for your plan. Damn it, I still have to clean up this mess for you. The company must be in a complete mess right now, and the reporters outside are going crazy!" Pepper Potts immediately said helplessly.

Suddenly, at this moment, her phone rang. She looked and saw it was from a general in the military. Then, she gestured to Tony Stark and said, "They can't find you now, they must all be coming to me!"

Stark Industries had been operating in the military for decades, with a vast network of connections, complex relationships, and deep roots. They didn't even know how many people had vested interests. Now, with the sudden closure, the series of follow-up matters was simply a complete mess.

"I'm counting on you. After this is all over, I'll give you a long vacation!" Tony Stark said with an apologetic smile.
