Chapter 48 - CHAPTER 47

They finally pulled away, breathless.

"You know…" Daniel whispered against her ear, his voice husky, "you should stop me now, or I won't be able to."

Hell no. Why would I want him to stop? Tracy thought, her body still trembling from his touch.

My heart had been dead for so long. No matter how many men I kissed on movie sets, it never beat for them. But his kiss… he woke something inside me. He woke my heart. I don't want him to stop now.

Her gaze lingered on his lips, her thoughts betraying her.

Daniel pressed soft kisses down her neck, sending shivers through her body.

"Mmm…" she couldn't hold back a sound.

"This is your last chance," he murmured against her skin, his lips dangerously close to her collarbone. "You should stop me now."

He's right… I should stop him. What kind of girlfriend am I? I'm cheating. I feel so dirty right now, she thought, panic rushing in to smother the warmth.

Suddenly, she pushed him away with trembling hands.

Daniel didn't resist. He let her go, his chest rising and falling heavily.

"Just… stay away from me, Daniel!" she cried before fleeing the room in a rush, her heart breaking and yearning at the same time.

Daniel stood there, smiling faintly to himself. "I finally found you. You can run for now, Tracy… but next time, you won't get away."

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. The line clicked.

"Lucian, I found Tracy. And if she's here… then I'm sure Mirabel is too."

"You what? You found her? How?" Lucian's voice sharpened on the other end.

Daniel smirked. "As soon as I arrived, I had nothing better to do. So I searched around—and I found her having breakfast. I even apologized, though I'm not sure if her answer is a yes or a no. But I'm certain Mirabel is here."

"That's good," Lucian replied.

"Bye for now. I need to go." Daniel hung up, gripping his phone tightly. His lips curved in a dangerous smile. "If Tracy is here, then Mirabel is too. And this time, no one will separate us. Not even you, Mirabel… not even you."

Later, in another wing of the hotel, Lucian was with his fiancée.

"Lucian, I was thinking… maybe we could wear matching outfits for the party?" she asked hopefully.

"No." His reply was sharp, his tone firm.

"Why not?"

"Because just agreeing to go with you doesn't mean you can act like my wife," he said coldly. "I'll remind you again—I only accepted this engagement because of my parents. Your only purpose is to keep their mouths shut. Don't forget your place."

Her eyes filled with tears as Lucian walked out, leaving her trembling in heartbreak.

Charlie's POV

"Ronald, you don't need to follow me. You can go."

"But young master, what if you get lost?"

"Don't worry, I'm smart. Uncle already gave us a tour. If I get lost, I can always call you. Now go," Charlie said with confidence.

"Alright, young master."

Charlie strolled off alone, wanting to explore freely. But soon, he accidentally bumped into a woman. A chain she was holding slipped from her hand and hit the ground.

"Hey! Can't you—" she snapped, then stopped, her eyes narrowing. "Oh… so this is your plan, huh? You made me drop my necklace so your little friends could steal it?" She glared at him intensely.

Charlie blinked in confusion. "What—"

She cut him off, her voice dripping with disdain. "I don't know why the owner of this hotel lets lowlifes like you in. People like you should be outside, not in a place like this."

Charlie clenched his fists, anger bubbling inside him, but he held his tongue.

"Don't worry," she sneered. "I'm not heartless. Apologize, and I won't report you."

At first, he was willing to apologize. But her arrogance burned his patience.

"Hey, boy, apologize now!" she demanded, raising her voice. "My husband can ruin you and your entire family if I wish it."

Charlie lowered his gaze, holding back his fury.

"You're too full of yourself, kid," she mocked, raising her hand to slap him—

Just then, Lucian, who had been walking nearby, heard the commotion. He turned his head toward the noise… and froze in surprise.
