Chapter 38 - CHAPTER 37

---

7 Years Later

"Mummy!" Cherry and Charlie squealed as they ran to hug Mirabel the moment she stepped into the house.

Mirabel knelt down, spreading her arms wide as her twins—now five years old—wrapped themselves around her. Cherry looked so much like Mirabel, with her gentle eyes and sweet smile, while Charlie carried Lucian's sharp features, a mirror she tried hard not to stare at for too long.

They were inseparable, though very different.

Cherry was soft-hearted, gentle, obsessed with fashion, and always playing with her cats.

Charlie was quieter, thoughtful, fiercely protective of both his mother and sister, and loved reading. He didn't talk much, but when he did, everyone listened.

Despite their little fights, Mirabel knew one thing for sure—if anything happened to one twin, the other would break.

She kissed Cherry's forehead, patting her silky hair, then lifted Charlie and pressed her lips to his temple.

"You missed me, right?" she asked softly.

Charlie nodded with a shy smile before she set him back on the floor. Cherry tugged at her trousers with a pout.

"Mummy… in five days it's our birthday. Can I dye my hair your color? I want to look like you."

Mirabel chuckled. Before she could answer, Charlie frowned.

"That's stupid, Cherry. It's not good for your hair."

Cherry's eyes watered. "Are you calling me stupid?"

"Baby, don't cry." Mirabel hugged her quickly. "Charlie's right about the hair. But Charlie, apologize to your sister—now."

"But—"

"No buts. Apologize."

"Okay… I'm sorry for calling you stupid."

"Fine," Cherry huffed, sticking out her tongue.

Mirabel smoothed her daughter's hair. "Don't worry, baby. I'll dye my hair blonde so you can look like Mummy, okay?"

Cherry brightened immediately. "Okay, Mummy!"

Mirabel smiled, even though she had actually dyed her hair blue last month.

"So, where do you two want to go for your birthday?" she asked, pulling Cherry onto her lap and twirling a lock of her hair.

"Korea!" Cherry shouted.

"California," Charlie countered immediately.

The twins turned to glare at each other.

"Korea is better than California!" Cherry huffed.

"California is better than Korea," Charlie said coolly, his eyes narrowing.

Cherry was about to launch herself at him when Mirabel quickly cut in.

"Alright, enough. Let's make it fair—I'll ask you a question. Whoever answers right, we'll pick their city."

Cherry nodded eagerly.

"Cherry, can you speak Korean?"

Cherry's face fell. "…No," she pouted.

Mirabel turned to Charlie. "And why do you want to go to California?"

"Because Uncle is opening a new hotel on the beach in four days. It'll be perfect for our birthday."

Mirabel blinked. "Oh! I almost forgot about that. California it is, then."

Cherry sighed in defeat, but then smiled. "Fine… but first, let's visit Grandpa!"

"Yes, yah!" Charlie agreed.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Charlie dashed over and swung it open. Tracy stepped inside, immediately scooping him into her arms.

"Look at you—you're such a big boy now," she said, kissing his cheek. Tracy and Charlie had always shared a special bond. "I brought you a gift."

She pulled out a book, but it wasn't just any book. When she opened it, Charlie's eyes widened.

"This isn't normal… is that—?"

"Yes," Tracy grinned. "I got your favorite band, Maroon 5, to sign it. All of them."

Charlie clutched the book to his chest, eyes sparkling.

---

Over the years, Mirabel and Tracy had both risen to global fame.

Tracy had become the number one actress in the world, starring in every genre imaginable. With over 479 million Instagram followers, 600 million YouTube subscribers, 500 million TikTok fans, and 300 million on Twitter, her net worth had soared to 200 billion dollars.

Mirabel, though less interested in acting, had become a global model and actress, appearing in music videos and blockbuster films—mostly because her twins begged her to. She had over 459 million Instagram followers, 500 million YouTube subscribers, 550 million on TikTok, and 351 million on Twitter, with a net worth of 800 billion dollars.

Between them, the two women were untouchable icons of the entertainment industry—but in Mirabel's eyes, her greatest treasures were still the two little souls who now sat at her feet, bickering over birthday plans.
