Chapter 2 - Novice

"The Aurora dungeon has been declared an S-class dungeon," a young boy in leather armor warned.

"It's okay, we will only explore the first floor," a young female mage said. She looked at another girl who had on a white robe. She clenched her staff as her legs shook.

"Don't tell me you are also scared. You all know how much we need to do this," the mage said.

"What good is money if we are dead?" the cleric said as they walked into the dungeon. Huge pillars in a straight line disappeared in the distance.

"We should turn back now, it's not too late," the knight advised as he looked around. He unsheathed his sword. He walked counting his steps.

A rage bunny lunged at him and he swung slashing it in half.

"Santo, that was amazing," the cleric said smiling at him.

"See, I told you we would be fine," the mage turned around and said.

"Mod, more are coming," the cleric announced and she put her arms out and materialized a staff.

It was a red wood staff with a topper of a green orb inside a wooden mesh. She pointed it in the direction of the rage bunnies.

"Azul!" she commanded and water blasted out of her staff. It hit a bunny knocking it back a few feet.

She cast a few more waterball spells but the bunnies kept coming.

"Don't you have a much more powerful spell?" Santo asked as he cut down bunnies that lunged at him.

"Grand Azul!" Mod yelled and a huge wave washed over the bunnies. Mod fell to her knees panting.

They smiled at each other. Their smiles faded when they saw the bunnies get back up.

"Another one!" Santo suggested.

"I am out of mana," Mod explained.

"Epp," Santo called out but Epp their cleric had already begun chanting.

"Lord light grant us what was once lost," Epp said and a wave of light pulsed through the room. It restored Mod's mana. It also restored Santo's stamina.

"Celeste!" Mod yelled and fog washed over them. When it subsided the bunnies were all frozen. Mod and Epp went round smashing the frozen bunnies with their staffs.

Santo helped, smashing the ice solid rabbits with his sword.

All the while Rye watched from a safe distance. Light orbs rose from them. It passed through the dungeon walls to the spore chamber.

'Light Spores, how have I not noticed this?'

Rye teleported around the dungeon following the light spores to their final destination.

Meanwhile, Epp, Santo, and Mod picked up the bunnies and placed them into bags.

"Let's go," Mod ordered.

"What about the rest?" Epp asked.

"It will be great if we could take all but our bags are full," Santo said then walked away. Mod and Epp followed him.

'No, please stay a little longer.'

Rye teleported to his vault and picked up a purple pouch. He teleported back to the first floor and put the pouch on their path.

Santo saw it as they walked by and picked it up.

"Wow, where did this come from?" Santo said as he examined the pouch.

"A grade A magic pouch on the first floor? How lucky can we get?" Mod said.

"We should go back for the rest of the items," Epp suggested.

"I think we should not be greedy. We should leave with what we have," Santo suggested.

Satisfied with how well they did they walked out not looking back.
