Chapter 30 - Return to Konoha

Chapter 30 – Return to Konoha

"What was that speed just now…?" Tsunade muttered, her eyes wide in disbelief.

Even she, one of the legendary Sannin, could no longer keep up with Yusuke. His speed was overwhelming—possibly unmatched by anyone in the shinobi world. Not even her own teacher could restrain him now.

"You could call it... the awakening of a new Kekkei Genkai," Yusuke replied casually.

"I'll explain the details later. For now, we should head back." His tone was gentle, yet firm.

"…Alright. But please, be careful." Despite her confidence in Yusuke, Tsunade couldn't hide her concern.

"Wait a second." She halted, reaching up to unfasten the necklace around her neck.

"Hm?" Yusuke tilted his head, confused.

It was the same necklace she would one day give to Naruto—an object deeply significant to her.

"Turn around."

Yusuke obeyed. Tsunade placed the necklace around his neck with quiet resolve.

"Make sure you come back alive."

"Don't worry, Tsunade. I'm the strongest now." His gaze shone with unwavering confidence.

"…Let's go." With a final glance, Tsunade led the group away without looking back.

"Guess it's time to go all out," Yusuke whispered to himself.

— — —

"Tch… What the hell just happened back there?" one of the enemy shinobi groaned, still disoriented.

"Oh? You're still breathing?" Yusuke appeared before him in an instant, one foot pressing down on the man's chest.

"Answer me. Which village sent you?" His voice was flat and calm.

"Kill me."

"If that's what you want." Yusuke didn't press further. He hadn't expected an answer anyway—it was just a formality.

A blinding flash of light erupted from his palm. A concentrated Laser Beam obliterated the enemy in a heartbeat.

Yusuke activated his Observation Haki, scanning the area for lingering enemies.

"Found you."

In the blink of an eye, his body dissolved into golden light and vanished.

— — —

"You've been chasing me?" Yusuke's calm, icy voice echoed behind a squad of shinobi.

"What was that—!?"

They whirled around.

What they saw wasn't a person—but particles of golden light, gradually forming into Yusuke's body from the ground up.

"There he is! Attack!" barked the squad leader, pushing down his fear.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!"

"Water Release: Water Pillar!"

"Lightning Release: Thunder Hill!"

"Water Release: Water Collision Wave!"

Multiple large-scale jutsu surged toward him.

"…Wow, this is excessive." Yusuke stared at the barrage with disinterest.

Yesterday, he would've had to counter this with Gura Gura no Mi, and even then, it would've taken effort. But now…

"Yata Mirror."

With both hands in front of him, he summoned a radiant shield of light. Every jutsu reflected off the mirror, bouncing between trees before curving back behind the enemy squad.

"Huh? What are you looking at?"

Yusuke mimicked Kizaru's lazy tone with ease.

"What?!"

The assassins froze as his voice echoed right behind them. They hadn't sensed him move.

"Speed is weight."

"Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?" he asked softly, almost lazily—but his words struck like a thunderclap.

The squad leader, a hardened veteran of countless wars, felt a primal dread creep up his spine.

Yusuke vanished again. Before the enemy could weave a single hand sign, one of them was launched through the air by a shining blur.

Another, and another, were sent flying in an instant. To any observer, it looked like a single massive blast had struck them all at once.

But in reality, Yusuke had hit them one by one—faster than anyone could register.

"…To think I've become this powerful," he murmured, surveying the carnage around him.

He had ascended to the top of the shinobi world.

With the Gura Gura no Mi—capable of shattering the earth—and the Pika Pika no Mi—granting him light-speed movement—he was virtually untouchable.

(Though Gura Gura no Mi's abilities hadn't fully manifested yet, it still boosted his Devil Fruit synergy overall.)

Still, one thing nagged at him. He hadn't unlocked Yasakani no Magatama, and his raw speed was still inferior to Kizaru's.

Likewise, Gura Gura no Mi hadn't reached its peak. Both fruits were far from "Awakening."

But that was only a matter of time. Unlike Kizaru, Yusuke held three Devil Fruits within him—surpassing Kizaru was inevitable.

Even if he never unlocked Awakening, he could stack more fruits and increase his raw power.

The fusion of Pika Pika had also enhanced Gura Gura's destructive force. Its original limits were surpassed once again.

However, he knew that stacking fruits made it harder to achieve Awakening. But if he ever did… his strength would skyrocket beyond anything possible with a single fruit.

He wasn't in a rush. Even without Awakening, he already surpassed Kizaru.

Once the area was cleared of enemies, Yusuke turned and made his way toward Tsunade's group.

(Note: Jiraiya and Orochimaru? Yeah… the author kinda forgot about them.)

— — —

Yusuke sped up, though he didn't use his light-speed form.

He could've caught up within seconds—but it drained too much energy.

Despite looking effortless in battle, Pika Pika no Mi was incredibly taxing. Unlike Gura Gura, which mainly drained stamina, light-speed movement devoured both chakra and physical energy.

(Note: The enemies Yusuke just fought weren't as strong as the ones facing Jiraiya and Orochimaru. They were remnants from the earlier chaos—elite jonin at best. With Yusuke's current power, most were one-shot kills. Meanwhile, the Sannin duo were likely facing higher-tier threats.)

— — —

Back in Konoha...

Yusuke strolled into the Hokage's office.

"Hokage-sama, I'm back," he said casually.

"Thank goodness… you're safe." Hiruzen smiled with relief, though a crease formed on his brow.

He observed Yusuke carefully. As a seasoned shinobi, he could sense it—that overwhelming pressure emanating from the boy.

It wasn't Conqueror's Haki, but something else… an instinctual threat. It was stronger than what he felt from the Sannin.

"You've grown even stronger, haven't you? Your talent truly is..." Hiruzen murmured, trailing off.

"To be honest, I've awakened another Kekkei Genkai," Yusuke said nonchalantly.

He could tell Sarutobi was probing him, so he chose to be upfront. Besides, with Pika Pika no Mi, even if Hiruzen used a sealing jutsu, Yusuke could easily evade it using his Haki and speed.

Judging by Hiruzen's expression, it seemed Tsunade hadn't told him about the Light Fruit.

"Another Kekkei Genkai...?" Hiruzen's pipe clattered to the floor.

"Hokage-sama, it's just one more. During the last exam, I met someone with two, you know," Yusuke replied with a lazy grin.

(Author's Note: At this point in the story, Yusuke's power level is just below Marine Admirals, Whitebeard, Hashirama, and Rinnegan Madara—particularly Madara in his full glory or Hashirama in Sage Mode.)
