Another day, another opportunity. To do what exactly? Nothing! Except going all philosophical and thinking about the meaning of everything. He finally decided to turn off the artificial garden he had created in his inn room, by placing all of it in his astral storage. It couldn't work without being in the physical realm.
So after this little chore he headed out and sat in the guild for a good while with Darkness and Megumin. Aqua and Kazuma were nowhere to be found.
The truth is, Svetislav is too lazy to go look for them. Instead of that he played tic-tac-toe with Megumin. Whoever went first nearly always lost, the battles were insane.
"You never predicted this!" - Svetislav said, drawing a circle in the top right square.
"Oh yeah? How about this!" - Megumin replied, drawing an X in the middle.
"NOOOOO! I have been beat, the tragedy." - Svetislav said dramatically as she scratched a line across three Xs. He was acting like this was a life or death game and it did seem to amuse them both, as well as a few adventurers who have gathered to watch the final round.
Or complain about the fact that he wants to go play out in the snow, but there ain't much snow. He did make ice sculptures for no particular reason, before slamming his head in it when he got bored. - "Ugh, where are they!?" - He groaned, annoyed of the whole ordeal.
And then Kazuma showed up, Svetislav immediately turned around and locked in. - "Ah, there they are."
"We got a place to live in." - Kazuma said, Aqua wasn't with him.
Svetislav made an :o face. - "Nice job, keep up the good work."
"What are you talking about? You can come with us."
"Perfect, because i just cleaned my room."
"Unnecessary information, but cool." - Kazuma replied, giving him a thumbs up while holding the most indifferent expression one could show.
And so they were off, Svetislav didn't have any luggage, except maybe his old clothes from the modern would and a few bijilion cabbages in his astral storage. After everyone had taken their baggage, they gathered and went towards the home Kazuma spoke of.
They reached the place sometime around sunset. It was a mansion, the gates opened for them.
"Welp, this is it." - Kazuma said.
"This will do. Oh yes, this will do nicely. This is a perfect home for a goddess of my caliber." - Aqua said, expressing her approval, with a few nods.
"It's big... I heard it belonged to some aristocrat." - Megumin added, her brows furrowed.
Darkness turned her gaze from the house to them. - "The land lord is certainly generous, letting us live here after we have exorcised the evil spirits from it."
"You know what i found out? Wiz has this rep for being a great mage. If someone has got a problem with a ghost, they go talk to her." - Kazuma explained.
"This big warm house is our key to surviving this freezing winter. Exorcising a few ghosts will be a sitch for me. They are as good as gone." - Aqua pridefully exclaimed.
"But the dude said whenever others tried to exorcise this place it never worked. The ghosts kept coming back." - Kazuma said.
"Right, but I'm both a goddess and an arch priest so this time it will be different. I'm an all around anti-undead expert."
"Speaking of which, how do you get rid of undead?" - Svetislav asked, but Aqua was already doing some spell reading the entire history of the house.
Megumin looked at him and said, : "You can't get rid of them with conventional weapons, you need magic. Don't you know that?"
"No."
Svetislav looked back towards Aqua, who had her hands reaching forward in the air and glowing. "Yes. I see it clear now. There was a child. She was the product of a casual affair between the lord of this house and a maid. To avoid scandal she was locked up here."
He looked back at the others. - "Are we going to wait for her ?" - But as he saw them, he already knew the answer by their faces. Svetislav nodded his head and they headed inside.
With that they began unpacking, Svetislav didn't have anything to unpack so he just sat by the window, listening as Aqua continued to explain the whole story. Svetislav pointed with his thumb down at her and turned to the others. - "She should become a historian if she is capable of telling the history of a place like that."
"It is indeed a notable skill." - Darkness commented.
Aqua continued well past sunset, how she had so much patience to recite for so long was beyond him. Kazuma left to go to sleep. Svetislav soon followed, picking a room of his own.
The beds were softer than the ones at the inn, which was a plus, and also there weren't any noises, except for the occasional steps outside... Wait, steps outside?
After a bit of hearing those Aqua's screams could be heard coming from the other room. Then rushed steps going towards the direction of the noise.
Svetislav opened his door and yelled - "Is everything alright?"
In the other room Aqua was crying about her expensive bubbly, that has some how gone empty without her even getting a lick. She rushed out of her room yelling how she is going to exorcise every ghost she finds. Kazuma passed Svetislav's room.
Svetislav then asked quietly - "Is everything alright?"
"Eh, her alcohol is gone."
"Ending world event, then... for her." - Svetislav joked.
Kazuma chuckled and continued walking - "Yeah, good night."
"Good night." - With that everyone was in their rooms, except for Aqua, who could be heard yelling "TURN UNDEAD!" over and over again, as well as the occasional "Nature's beauty" for some reason.
He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Sometime later he slowly awoke as he heard the sound of small taps on the floor, after which his bed got heavier. He opened his eyes and saw many eyes staring into his. He didn't freak out, but the situation did bring a bit of adrenalin, he quickly thought and willed a barrier that would convert the kinetic energy of everything that comes any further from moving.
He slowly stood up and threw the blanket over the dolls, because if any of them move while he is trying to summon Aqua, he would be aware. He made his way towards the door, opened it, before yelling. - "AQUA! Exorcise all the ghosts in my room and you will get one hundred thousand eris and half of a bubbly bottle."
Immediately the sound of a bare foot making contact with the ground was heard, in that moment the dolls began to float and fly towards him. He quickly got out of the room, because he wanted to lure them out so he doesn't have to bother with cleaning them, before rushing towards Aqua.
So much so that they bumped at one of the corners. - "There, NOW EXTERMINATE!"
"Turn undead!" - She cast out the ghosts; the ghosts that had been chasing him were exorcised and the dolls fell harmlessly on the ground.
"I will put your reward in your room, you go help the others."
"What do you think i were doing?" - She said, offended for being ordered around.
"I get it, good night, Aqua." - He replied, not wanting to fight, because he was already tired enough. He went to her room, tossed a pouch with one hundred thousand eris and went to his own room to sleep.
