The sun came into view once more. Well, not the sun, but it's light from the dome.
He crawled out while making sure to not make any noise. With a steady speed he walked to town to get the seeds he ordered.
The weather was nice - The rain poured, the clouds were dark. He stopped for a second before leaving the mansion and looked up. It filled him with a sense of peace, but he also knew that he would get wet if he walked without using his skill... He thought of how nice it would feel... He really liked the rain. He stepped from beneath the mansion's protection and began walking, he took his hat off, just to feel the droplets fall on him. "What a lovely day." He said gently, reaching out and catching a few droplets.
Eventually he would reach a gate of town, from which point he would walk and go parallel to the wall. He would also start automatically converting the raindrops that touched him, drawing the pattern within his own mind, not with a finger, but with his own imagination and will.
He neared the store, seeing the old gardener sitting as he looked out with a smile.
"Morning!" Svetislav said, lifting a hand.
"Good morning. Come inside, no need for the rain to pour on you." The man said, standing up and opening the door for him. Inside he saw many flowers in pots, they were all so beautiful, some were shown to the outside, others were for decoration; there were even a few plants handing on pots which were held off the ground with ropes tied to rings attached to the ceiling. "Just a moment." The gardener said gently, going past him. Svetislav didn't realize how tall this man was, he was around twenty centimeters taller than him. So around two meters.
The shop smelled of heaven's gardens and the warmth it held was perfect.
The old man walked in the backrooms, and after a few moments returned, holding two, with the size of a hand, pouches. "Here you go, my friend."
"I thought i asked for only one seed of both."
"I decided to make it worth the sum you intended to give."
"Thank you then." Svetislav placed a mithril coin on the counter, because he was aware that he has ran out of pouches. "I will get going, see you sometime."
"Have a great day." The man would say with a polite, yet genuine smile.
With that Svetislav left, walking back towards the mansion. On his way there he saw Kazuma and Megumin, going at a constant pace while singing "Explosion, Explosion, la la la."
"Hey guys." He gave them a quick wave as they passed one another.
With that he joined his work flow, reaching the mansion and going inside.
He placed a pot in his still empty room and made earth for it, before planting a carrot seed. After casting Growth on the pot the carrot began to grow rapidly, it's cells stimulated to rapidly multiply, leading to a new plant, perfectly ripe, with flowers which are already bearing more seeds.
"All that you plan to make better, must first pass through your hands."
That's the mentality he got after establishing his own personality.
He harvested the carrot before proceeding to toss a few wheat seeds in the soil, before covering them up. Another casting of Growth later and he had a beautiful patch of golden stems in his room, the seeds, which were still on the plant, swaying with each little touch he gave the pot.
And so with the process of growing wheat and carrots understood, he proceeded to go out in the yard and work with the soil for a bit, after all - the potatoes won't have enough space in these pots.
Here he stood beneath the warm and soothing rain, the droplets falling gently down on the terrain.
He got on his knees and got to digging, it might take him long, but when was the last time he got his hands dirty?
He didn't fear getting a cold, nor getting wet, nor getting dirt under his nails... Which, when he looks at them, lead to him realizing - he must take better care for himself in this world, his hair has grown quite a lot, his nails had grown beyond the normal size. At this point it would be best he stops, lest he wants to get a nail broken, this place doesn't have the usual medicine, but Aqua is useful with her healing magic... He decided to do another thing, he sat back, legs crossed, and he began working on making a nail clipper. Good thing he remembered how it worked.
"Eh, screw it, i will just..." He converted a chunk of the earth and placed a potato in it, after which he put the earth back into place and cast Growth on that area, after about two minutes of that the potato plant emerged. It's beautiful flowers bloomed and within seconds, they made new seeds. He took the seeds and plucked the potatoes from the ground.
So much so that he accidentally pulled himself face first in the mud. Which seemed to have triggered a lost memory, of a song he used to listen. This certain piece of the lyrics was "Go closer hold the land. Feel partly no more than grains of sand."
He pulled away and wiped mud off his face. He finally stood up, now that he has felt the process he could start thinking on how to make it automatic. So he returned in the mansion, dirty steps covered the floor all the way to the bathroom.
He got his clothes off, before walking in and plunging into the water, he cleaned his hands first, then his face, then every other spot, not for dirt, but for mud.
Closed eyes, opened mind, he gathered the information he has learned today and implemented it... Into a completely new contraption, might be slower than the one for cabbages, but this one was far more efficient. None of the crops he grew today were alive, so why even bother growing them quickly, when he can simply grow them for a longer period of time, saving energy, before harvesting them.
He decided to take a nap to use his skill(Engineer's wet dream) to make a schematic for the contraption for both the potato and the carrot farm. After a while he manages to make it functional in his mind, so he wakes up and gets dressed, well more of covered in blankets, because his clothes are dirty... He should actually clean them... His coat was dirty, his pants were dirty, his shoes were dirty, his hat was dirty. How did he manage to keep the shirt clean is only for him to know, but other than that he is gonna nap all day and wonder what to do.
For example, a bit of depression inducement to make his joy greater when he spends another wonderful night debating random shit with his friends.
So now he positioned himself on the second floor of the Palace of Dreams.
He scoffed loudly as he took another nap.
"STOP!" Aqua yelled, from the floor under.
He pocked his head out, "You ain't going out today?"
"No, why would I? I might be the goddess of water, but i would rather not work on days like this."
"Cool, good night then, wake me up when we are going anywhere as a group." He said casually even though not even half the day has passed.
"Sure will."
And so he dozed off to another set of forced dreams, this time though, he used his time for some peace of mind... Simulating an empty version of his city. The rain was just like the one outside in the real world - raining.
He took pleasure in exploring his memories, of old songs he used to listen, of places he used to visit... It was depressing, but in the end... What you choose on your own... Doesn't it make you happy? Even if you choose to feel depressed?
Deep breath, steady step, he continued moving, treating himself to as many pleasures as he can, like a gyro, he hasn't eaten such in years, or drinks he used to drink... It all tasted temporary, but one thing was not temporary. The music he listened and made into information to make a mind jukebox. The name "Rogue Soul" by Hidden Agenda, it was one thing he held close, so much so, that he called it his "theme".
Even in those forced dreams he feels tired after using it for far too long... What? Does it cost mana to stay in one?
He stopped the dream a fell asleep, for real, this time.
Later Aqua nudged him and woke him up from his peaceful blank sleep.
"Guh, yeah, yeah. I'm awake."
"Good." Aqua said turning around to leave.
He closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep.
"Svetislav! Wake up. That's what you asked."
He scoffed, blissfully unaware of her yells.
"Hey Aqua, do you need help or something?" Kazuma yelled from outside the pillow fortress.
"I need his lazy bum to get up." Aqua said, returning to nudge him again.
He instantly stopped her. "I'm awake. Just a few more minutes."
"What do you mean a few more minutes?! We are waiting for you!" Aqua said, annoyed by how ignorant he is being.
He rolled out of his blanket and down to the first floor. "Alright, i'm coming."
"Finally."
And so he went with his friends to the guild, where they shared wonderful meals, Svetislav did try to smuggle a bit of beer for Megumin, but Darkness stopped him. "At least let her try, if she gets a taste she won't be as curious about it."
Darkness tried to argue, but she didn't find any arguments except "She is still too young"
Svetislav didn't buy it and gave Megumin a bit, in the end, she didn't even like it that much, which calmed Darkness' worries.
"See, that's how i reacted to beer at first."
"Alright, you proved your point." Darkness accepted her defeat.
"Yippee."
And so the night went on, nothing special happened, so Svetislav decided to hit the bag early.
The next day came by and he prepared to go and get his materials, he hasn't even entered town and there were lots of carriages rolling in. That was around twelve in the morning, judging by the sun. He went to the guild, Luna was waiting outside as they rode and stopped.
"Morning. Seems like the job is done."
"Yeah, and here's the change." Luna said, dragging a bag from behind her. He took it and transformed it into information for his astral storage.
And so he helped unload all of the materials... They were many, so much in fact that there was traffic outside of town. But in the end, he got his materials... After an hour.
So now, with all the materials that he needs, he headed towards his plot lands, first project, expanding the cabbage farm to have sections, and also a cozy home to rest in. This project was difficult, he had to alter the landscape in such a way to accommodate for the needs of this build, but in the end he did it... The first fucking quarter. He just gave up for the day and went to rest... This became a routine, for three days, he was going to spend all his time and energy on this build so he can have veggie soup whenever he wants. He would have to make the noodles by hand thought.
First was the base, then was the farm, then the walls, ceilings, windows and all that, and finally, logistics and mechanism. He decided that it would be good to add a door to the farms this time.
In the end the farm worked with an efficiency of around 1000 carrots an hour and 280 potatoes an hour.
He cried out in happiness, he has finally finished with the expansion project... But wheat... Oh wheat would be another few days.
No time to rest, he wanted it all done: day one - base and structure; day two - planting, logistics and contraption; and finally day three - mechanism that makes ships biscuits.
The flour is split, one for packaging, the other for the biscuits...
At the end of the day he was able of enjoying them... Hard as a rock, but nutritious and lasts forever.
