Chapter 14 - How fast can i raise a building?

That morning he woke up with a plan, to build the cabbage farm, to test his engineering skills.

But there is a problem, materials. Doesn't matter, he has all the time and all the money he needs, so he goes to the guild.

"Morning, Luna."

"Morning, Svet. What can i help you with?"

"Could you order some materials for me? Like usual you will get rewarded. I would need a lot of bricks, a lot of iron and a lot of planks. Oh yeah, and also glass Like enough to build this guild around three times over, plus three more times."

"Alright, no problem. I will handle the paperwork."

"Good, thank you."

"No problem, Svetislav. Is there anything else?"

"No. That's all, see you later Luna."

She smiled politely, - "Yeah, see you later."

As he turned his back and he left the building, she sighed, her smile fading.

And so another task left for her to do.

A day later Svetislav returned to the guild, where he sat with his friends, but in the midst of all this, she tapped his shoulder and gave him the bill he needed to pay for the materials. It was nearing the one hundred million eris thresh hold, Svetislav didn't hesitate to pay, of course putting one million on top as a thanks to her.

Another day passed and so did many carriages, on them all the materials he asked for, he quickly took the materials, and left. By now the damage he caused to his left leg during the battle with the Verdia had regenerated, but the way he walked remained, the cane still in hand. The feeling was right for him.

And so, one hour and a half later he reached the land of the widow, whom he bought the land of.

He retraced where he had drawn the outlines of the building.

And so he started, he placed the bricks one after the other, one on top of the other in a zigzag pattern. He used all the metal to hold the bricks together, because he didn't have a binding agent.

After enough of that he began digging a hole, in which he placed lots of bricks. He was lucky that he didn't run out at that phase, otherwise there would be no second floor.

And so after making the base, he began placing the bonded walls, the sheet metal facing both ends(In and out). It's a very scuffed and crude version of the way apartment buildings were built during the communism.

After the sixth hour mark, he has placed all the walls. If someone asked if he did this flawlessly, and he replied positively - he would be lying, because many times the walls tilted and he had to push them to match the walls that have already been set perfectly. He sat down and took a break, to be sweating when it's cold outside is a achievement of its own.

And so after that quick break, he used Create Soil to make ground in the big ass pot he has made. After this he planted the cabbage seeds at a distance of one meter from one another in a grid pattern. The total space is 100 meters in length and 40 meters in width, minus 5 meters because that's where the staircase and the mechanism is, the soil area is 95 meter in length and 35 meters in width.

The contraption cart and the rails take a lot of space, which cuts the amount of how many cabbages can be grown at once. In fact, three columns are unusable because of that.

So in the end the total count of cabbages is six hundred and forty-four.

The contraption is split into five sections for easier management.

Then came the coding part, the contraption has a lever which switches the gear into reverse. When a contraction reaches the end, its lever is pushed by a simple pole sticking from the wall. The same goes on the other end of the wall.

Every contraption has its own mana engine and a code that feeds its actions.

The code was simple, when it passes over a cabbage, in the time it takes for light to reach our eye, it checks if the vegetable is ripe - if it is, then it harvests (via mechanical harvesters for style), transforms, and finally replants; otherwise it just casts growth on the plant.

He started the mechanism, because ne didn't plan on coming back to alter the contraptions code, nor to make a door to make it accessible.

After an hour of watching the cabbages grow while the contraption mover back and forth, the first harvest was upon him...

"Why isn't working the same way it works in my room?..."

Then he realized, he had used the pen, in term making the flow small. So now he had to redo the writing with his finger, getting a few splinters in the process.

After doing that, the machine was twelve times as efficient, not giving the full six hundred and forty-four in five minutes... "That can't be right..." He thought for a second before realizing that his previous income was eight cabbages a minute, or forty cabbages in five minutes.

So now with an acceptable flow of fresh veggies in his astral storage, he can proceed with the second floor, if he is quick enough he would be able to see the sunset, if he quickens up the pace.

But no, it took him another six hours to get the second floor, the stairs, the benches, the windows and the dome of the second floor. He looked out the window and saw the moon drooping over the west... "Oh i have overdone it... Tired and starving... And i need to go back in town... Ugh..."

He was so tired he decided to not even bother and sleep on one of the benches in the watching area, underneath the gentle sound of rolling wheels...

The sleep wasn't as nice, he has gotten so used to the feeling of a soft bed that this felt unnatural.

The sun rose from behind him, and shined nicely in the building, creating a serene atmosphere. If it weren't for this view, he would have called this entire thing the worst night he has had in this world.

He stood up and walked down the stairs, and then down the building.

After two hours of slow walking he reached the town, where he instantly went to Luna.

"Morning."

She turned to him with a kind smile. - "Morning, Svetislav, how are you~" - She jumped as he looked at the bags under his eyes. - "Are you alright?! You look like you haven't slept for the entire night."

"Work required it, or i just wanted to get it done... Now let's talk numbers. Five minutes, six hundred and forty-four... Ugh, forget it, i will round it to the most manageable number - Five hundred... That times..." - His brain bugged again and he took a second before continuing. - "times twelve, times ten."

"Sixty thousand..."

"Yeah, that. I allow the guild to put another six hundred million eris in the machine."

"Alright... You can just... go. I will deal with that."

"Thanks, Luna. Good night."

She chuckled as he said that so casually, and at how he wobbled away.
