"Wh-what are those things?!"
The sudden appearance of the three mechanical beasts threw the Servants into chaos. Something that doesn't fit the tone of this game has just appeared.
"Are those... mecha monsters? Wait, how does he have something like that? And when he said 'fusion,' he didn't mean..." Romani's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Come forth! The azure light from the depths of the sea! Super Quantum Mecha Beast Blue Layer!"
A blue, orca-like mecha shot through the air towards Mo Wang.
"Wait, wait, why is it coming towards me?!" Cu Chulainn's face paled. The orca robot was heading straight for him!
"What the hell is this?!"
A beam of blue light enveloped him, and he found himself in a futuristic cockpit.
"Don't worry, Wild Dog Blue! The spirit of the sea will protect you! Let's go!"
"Wild Dog Blue?! What the hell is that?! And what spirit of the sea?! Wait a minute!"
But it was too late. The Blue Layer shot towards the sea monster, firing a blue beam of light. The sea monster roared in pain and swung its tentacles at the mecha, but the Blue Layer dodged with incredible speed.
"Aaaah! Slow down! Slow down! I'm going to puke!" Cu Chulainn screamed, his face turning green as he clung to the controls.
"Wild Dog Blue! Concentrate! Feel the rhythm of the sea!" Mo Wang's voice crackled over the comms, sounding like a narrator in a hero show.
"Feel the rhythm of my ass! Does this thing have a seatbelt?! Wait—left! It's coming from the left!" Cu Chulainn shrieked as a giant tentacle swept towards them. The Blue Layer did a sharp dive, and the cockpit spun 180 degrees.
BOOM!
Another blue beam shot from the mecha's head, hitting the sea monster's core. The monster shrieked, but it was only enraged. Dozens of tentacles shot up from the sea, forming a net around the Blue Layer.
"MO—WANG—!" Cu Chulainn's scream was drowned out by the sound of screeching metal as a tentacle wrapped around the mecha's right wing.
"Now!" Mo Wang snapped his fingers. "Super Quantum Protocol, activate! Wild Dog Blue, press the red button!"
"Huh?! A red button at a time like this?!" Cu Chulainn frantically slapped the control panel, and the cockpit was flooded with red light. A battlesuit materialized around him, and the mecha's systems linked with his mind.
"I don't know what the hell this is, but I think I can break free!" he yelled, and with a pull of the controls, the Blue Layer broke free of the sea monster's grasp.
"Good! Wild Dog Blue has mastered the Super Quantum Mecha Beast! Next up is—"
Archer took a step back. He called my name, didn't he?
"Come forth! The divine beast of magma's fury! Super Quantum Mecha Beast Magma Layer!"
A crimson, lion-like mecha charged at Archer. "I knew it!" he said, but he didn't bother to dodge. He was sucked into the cockpit and fitted with a red battlesuit.
"And finally, me! Come forth! The spirit of the storm! Super Quantum Mecha Beast Green Layer!"
A green, wyvern-like mecha appeared and swallowed Mo Wang whole.
"Kekeke! Finally! I've finally summoned them!" he cackled like a villain.
"Hey, we're all in here now. What's next?" Cu Chulainn asked, still feeling nauseous.
"Heh heh! Now that we have the Super Quantum Mecha Beasts, we have to do that! Let's go, everyone! It's time to combine!"
The sea monster seemed to sense what was coming and thrashed its tentacles wildly.
"Muda, muda! A distraction of this level is nothing! Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus! Combine!"
"Warning! Combination protocol initiated! All units, unlock!" a synthesized female voice announced in all three cockpits.
"Wait, this thing is going on my head?!" Cu Chulainn yelped as a helmet descended from the ceiling and was forcibly clamped onto his head.
"Module separation! Blue Layer, disassemble into lower limb units!"
"Magma Layer, transform into the core torso!"
"Green Layer, convert into the upper structure!"
"Super Quantum link complete! Final protocol—Great Magnus, descend!"
The three mechas merged into a dazzling cocoon of light. When the light faded, an eighty-meter-tall steel god stood in its place.
"No way! What is this?! Is this even a Holy Grail War?!" Mash shrieked. The genre had just switched from a monster movie to a Super Sentai show in the blink of an eye!
"Oh, oh! A super robot! This is what you need to fight a monster!" Romani cheered over the comms.
"Don't be excited, Doctor! Why are you acting weird too?!"
Great Magnus shot through the air, dodging the sea monster's tentacles with impossible agility. It sliced off three of the monster's tentacles with a beam of white light, and then, after a brief struggle, it unleashed a final, devastating attack.
A blinding white light engulfed everything. When it faded, the sea monster was gone, leaving only a massive whirlpool in its place.
"Awesome! Now that's what I call a battle!" Mo Wang said, patting his seat. "Great Magnus is so cool!"
"Hey! The battle's over! What are you two doing?!" he yelled at Archer and Cu Chulainn. They were both lying on the floor of their cockpits, half-dead.
"So... sick... this robot... is like a prison... kill me..." Cu Chulainn groaned.
"Next time... please... can you pilot... a little more smoothly?" Archer gasped.
"You two are so weak! How can you be the pilots of Great Magnus with such a low tolerance for G-forces? Back to hellish training for you!"
"Like hell I'm going to be your pilot!" Cu Chulainn groaned.
...
"No! Even the sea monster...!" Jalter collapsed to the ground in despair. Her army was gone, and now her final trump card had been defeated.
"Jeanne! Get out of there! Come back! As long as we have the Holy Grail, we can still make a comeback!" Gilles urged.
"It's over, Gilles," she said, her eyes filled with a dead resolve. "Even if it's just for myself, I will kill that bastard today!"
"Jeanne!!!"
She charged at Great Magnus... and was promptly kicked unconscious.
"What the? A suicide charge? Since when did the French do that?" Mo Wang said, stepping out of the mecha. "Well, this is an unexpected bonus." He picked up the unconscious Jalter and climbed back into Great Magnus.
"Hey, Marshal! I'm taking your saint!" he yelled, flying away. "I'll give you three days to surrender! Otherwise, I can't guarantee what will happen to her! Kekeke!"
"Jeanne!!!" the Marshal wailed, his cries of anguish echoing across the battlefield.
