"Senpai, this isn't the time to be difficult!"
Mash started to panic as she watched Mo Wang plop right back down on the ground.
It was a bit awkward to say, but they really, truly needed Mo Wang's power right now.
"Yeah, Mo Wang, even if you want to slack off, you have to wait until we get back, right? The priority right now is to take care of business," Dr. Romani chimed in, trying to persuade him.
But after hearing this, not only did Mo Wang not feel any motivation, he just let out a bored yawn.
"Mo Wang, the situation is extremely dire. If we can't make it back, it could lead to the destruction of the world. The responsibility of saving the world can only fall on your shoulders now."
"As a Master of Chaldea, don't you have any desire to save the world?"
"Yes, yes, Dr. Romani. You're right, but don't you think you're asking a bit much? Just the two of us, trying to save the world? I don't see any hope at all."
"And what you said is going too far. I just collect a paycheck at Chaldea. No one thinks about me normally, and now you're suddenly telling me to save the world? Forgive me, but that's a hard switch to make."
To put it simply, Mo Wang was saying that he was usually just an invisible nobody that no one cared about, but now that there was trouble, everyone suddenly remembered he existed.
It was like being a "salary thief" slacking off at your company, and then one day, everyone expects you to shoulder the fate of the entire corporation.
Can't do it, won't do it, I wanna quit.
That's just not how it works, right?!
"Doctor, what do we do now?" Mash asked, looking at Romani.
Mo Wang had completely lost all motivation. She couldn't possibly go on alone, could she?
"It seems... we have no choice but to use that move."
Romani mused to himself, his face showing no signs of panic.
When it came to an unmotivated Mo Wang, old man Romani was already prepared.
Romani slowly began to speak to Mo Wang. "Ahem, Mo Wang, actually... the Director is in this world, too. If you don't help, she could be in real danger~"
As Romani mentioned Director Olga, Mo Wang, who had been in the middle of a yawn, suddenly froze.
"Just think about it. The Director, a girl all by herself, wandering around a place like this. Who knows what kind of danger she might run into."
As Dr. Romani continued, Mo Wang finally stood up from the ground.
He let out a lazy sigh and shot the doctor a look of disgust. "I say, Doctor, do you have to use the Director every time? Isn't that a bit unfair?"
Although Mo Wang's face still showed extreme annoyance, he finally had a little bit of motivation.
"Dr. Romani! Senpai is actually motivated?! Amazing!" Mash looked at Dr. Romani in astonishment after Mo Wang finally stood up.
Why did he suddenly stand up just because Dr. Romani mentioned the Director?
Seeing Mo Wang on his feet, Romani wore a smug expression.
Everyone in Chaldea knew that while Mo Wang was extremely unreliable, he was also the ultimate slacker, finding it difficult to muster any enthusiasm for anything.
Unlike the Mo Wang from the Honkai world, the FGO Mo Wang had little desire for most things and held a pessimistic view on everything.
This was, to some extent, related to his Path, [Nihility].
Whether it was class or missions, Mo Wang would basically dodge them if he could.
Most of the time, no one had a good way of dealing with his personality.
But Romani knew that there was one person who, if mentioned, would get Mo Wang to act no matter how unmotivated he was.
That person was the Director of Chaldea, Olga Marie.
Romani didn't know why that was the case.
But he knew that if he wanted Mo Wang to do something, he just had to mention the Director's name.
And now was the perfect time.
"Fine, let's go find the Director first."
Mo Wang patted the dust off his butt and said to Mash.
"Yes, Senpai!" Mash replied immediately.
But then, she asked with some confusion, "But... where should we go to find the Director?"
"Well..."
Mo Wang tried to recall the plot. After thinking hard, he remembered that in the original story, the protagonist found the Director on the way to a ley line.
The problem was, it had been so long since he'd played the prologue that he couldn't remember which ley line it was.
"Don't rush, don't panic. Let me think for a moment."
Mo Wang scoured his brain for any information related to FGO's plot.
But for some reason, all he could think of related to Fate were... a bunch of weird fan comics.
"Tch, why is it that when I actually need to remember something, all this useless stuff pops up?"
Mo Wang really wished his Path was [The Remembrance] instead of [Nihility].
Then he wouldn't be forced to re-watch all these comics in his head...
"Oh! I remember! There are a total of four ley lines in Fuyuki City."
Mo Wang pondered this carefully, and suddenly remembered seeing it when he was looking up Fate lore.
The four great ley lines of Fuyuki City were located at Ryuudou Temple, the Church, the Tohsaka Residence, and Shinto.
Ryuudou Temple's was the best, followed by the Tohsaka Residence, then the Church, with Shinto's being the worst.
So, they just needed to head to the nearest ley line, and they should be able to run into the Director.
"Doctor, do you have a map? Send me a map of Fuyuki City."
"It's already been sent to your phone. The closest location should be the Tohsaka Residence..."
It had to be said, although Dr. Romani was also a slacker, he was quite reliable at times like this.
By the way, the fact that Chaldea's phones still had reception in a place like a Singularity was pretty amazing.
"Senpai, the Tohsaka Residence is only about five kilometers away. We should be able to get there soon. Let's hurry up and go..."
Just as Mash saw the location on the map and was about to urge Mo Wang to set off, she was shocked to see that Mo Wang had, from out of nowhere, pulled out a... motorcycle!
"What are you looking at? I just projected it!"
Mo Wang pointed to the back seat and said to the still-dazed Mash.
At this moment, however, Mash was feeling a headache coming on.
Wait... is that even how Projection Magecraft is supposed to work?!
