On the other hand, Han Ziyan ran out of the school with tears running down her face. She turned around and looked behind, hoping to see Han Ruochen, but the second she flipped her head behind her, Han Ziyan realised that Han Ruochen hadn't followed after her. Seeing this, her face turned even stiffer. She couldn't understand the changes in Han Ruochen.
In the past, the woman would listen to every word that she and Mother Han said to her. If they told her to go east, she wouldn't dare to go west. How come she suddenly refused to hand the job to her?
Han Ziyan felt panicked when she thought about how the bird that was almost in her trap had flown away. How was she going to marry Brother Yang Jianming without that job? She was worried that Mother Yang would never look at her seriously if she couldn't snatch Han Ruochen's job.
"Ziyan?"
Han Ziyan turned around and looked at the handsome young man who was walking towards her, and her eyes turned red due to how aggrieved she felt. If Han Ruochen were there, she would have recognised this man at once. Her ex-lover, Yang Jianming.
"Brother Jianming", Han Ziyan softly called out to the man before bursting into tears; the second her tears started to fall, Yang Jianming was startled. He rushed over and said to Han Ziyan, "Ziyan, what's the matter? Why are you crying?"
When Han Ziyan heard the concern in his voice, she started crying even harder. She raised her hands and started wiping her tears like a child while saying, "Brother Jianming, you should just marry my sister. I am afraid that we can never get married."
"Why? What happened?" Yang Jiaming was stunned. He blinked his eyes and reached out to hold Han Ziyan's arms. He said to her, "What's going on? Didn't you say that once you get Han Ruochen's job, we don't have to worry about anything and hide our relationship from others? What went wrong all of a sudden? Why are you asking me to marry that woman all of a sudden?"
Yang Jianming was rather confused.
"I didn't get Sister Ruochen's job," Han Ziyan sobbed harder. "She changed her mind at the last moment and said that I was not capable of teaching her students. She even called me unskilled for the job!"
Yang Jianming was shocked when he heard Han Ziyan's words; his eyes widened, and he said, "That's outrageous. How can she go back on her words when she had already promised to give you her job? This is too much!"
If Han Ruochen were there, she would have raised her hands and given this adulterous couple a good beating. It was bad enough that they were going behind her and raising a green prairie on top of her head; they even dared to make her the villain!
Han Ziyan threw herself into Yang Jianming's arms. This was a spot where no one came; thus, she was not worried about being caught. She shamelessly rubbed her face against Yang Jianming's chest and cried like a willful and weak white lotus, " Brother Jianming, how are we supposed to get married like this? If Sister Ruochen doesn't give up, then your mother will never accept me."
"Don't worry," said Yang Jianming. His eyes flashed with a hint of killing intent. "Since she is not accepting her fate, I will make her accept it."
When Han Ziyan heard his words, she relaxed and sweetly smiled.
On the other side, Han Ruochen was unaware of what Han Ziyan and Yang Jianming were scheming. After she left the school, she went to look for her father, who worked in the small pig farm that was not far from the school. With the wicker lunchbox in her hands, Han Ruochen looked around the little coastal village where she lived with her family.
Though their family lived near the coast, her father was not skilled in fishing. Just like her grandfather and great-grandfather. Because of this reason, even though it was not as profitable to catch fish and sell them in the market, her father raised pigs and sold them at the commune.
With the policies relaxing a bit, it was much easier to do business now, and villagers could catch and sell whatever they caught at the commune without being caught and paraded around the village.
Her father was also apt in business; even though he couldn't catch fish, he could raise pigs. It could be said that her father's business was neither too small nor too big. It was enough to raise the five siblings, including Han Ziyan.
When she arrived at the gates of the pig farm, the security guard standing outside noticed her right away. He smiled at Han Ruochen and said to her, "Ruochen? What are you doing here? Usually, it's your sister, Ziyan, who always comes here to deliver lunch."
Han Ruochen raised her brows when she heard the response of the security guard. Ah, it seemed like Han Ziyan and Mother Han left no base untouched. She smiled and replied, "Well, Sister Ziyan is busy today. I have been busy with school, and my brothers and sisters are also entangled with their own things, which is why we have neglected our father a little and left this job to Ziyan."
"However, now that she has started to look for a job, I am afraid it won't be long before my mom will be the one delivering the lunchbox." She added with a soft chuckle.
Han Ruochen easily twisted the entire situation around and made it clear that Han Ziyan was not doing it because she was more filial than her siblings, but because she was the only one who was free at home and doing nothing. As an eighteen-year-old girl who did nothing, was it too big of a job for her to bring lunch to her father, who was providing for her even when she was an adopted child and that too when her siblings were busy earning money to give her an easier life?
Of course not.
