Chapter 3 - Dear Sister

Han Ruochen agreed with Principal Duan. Looking at the man who was genuinely advising her, Han Ruochen felt a bit guilty. In her past life, instead of listening to Principal Duan's genuine advice, she had thrown a tantrum and walked out with her head held high.

Her stupid self actually thought that Principal Duan was trying to break her and Yang Jianming, all because that jerk had instilled the idea that Principal Duan wanted Yang Jianming to marry his own daughter.

How shameless! Before saying such shameless words, Yang Jianming didn't even take a good look at his own face. He was just a science teacher in a small school, while Principal Duan's sister was a factory director at such a young age. She earned more than Han Ruochen and Yang Jianming combined. Why would she take a fancy to such a despicable man like Yang Jianming?

It was only fools like Han Ruochen who would treat a piece of shit like he was coated with gold.

Han Ruochen expressed her sincerity to Principal Duan and once again repeated that she was not going to hand the job to an unskilled woman like Han Ziyan before taking her leave. However, as soon as she stepped out of the office, she ran into Yun Xiaoxiao, who was standing right behind the door.

Though Han Ruochen was already aware of this, she still showed a subtle hint of surprise. Having dealt with Han Ziyan for more than fifty years, Han Ruochen knew a thing or two about acting like a white lotus.

She blinked her eyes and slowly allowed the surprise to fade before greeting Yun Xiaoxiao with a nod, "Teacher Yun."

"Teacher Han," Yun Xiaoxiao was looking at Han Ruochen with a complicated gaze. Because she was a temporary English teacher at the school, Han Ruochen had always been wary and careful around her. She would often put her down, but Yun Xiaoxiao had never taken it seriously, though Han Ruochen was stern and cold; she had only corrected her mistakes and never crossed the line.

And even though Han Ruochen had been quite wapish with her, she had her reasons as well. After all, who would treat their competition lightly?

Yun Xiaoxiao stared at Han Ruochen. She didn't know why, but for some reason, she wanted to warn Han Ruochen. Though the two of them were rivals, Yun Xiaoxiao would never do something as despicable as Han Ziyan. To think that she, as an adopted daughter, pressured her foster mother into making the biological daughter give up. That woman really had some thick skin.

Pursing her lips, Yun Xiaoxiao said to Han Ruochen, "Teacher Han, you should be careful. Don't think that just because you have a permanent job, you are safe. There are all kinds of villains who might be eyeing your job."

"Thank you for looking out for me, Teacher Yun. I will definitely keep this in mind," said Han Ruochen. After she finished speaking, she bowed and then walked away without looking at Yun Xiaoxiao, who was staring at her with a complicated look in her eyes.

That arrogant Han Ruochen actually thanked her? Did the sun rise from the west today?

Han Ruochen didn't think much of her actions. She was arrogant and cold-hearted in the past, but after going through the sufferings at the hands of Yang Jianming and Han Ziyan, how could her arrogance not suffer a blow? She was married off to a fool and was forced to give birth to five daughters and a son.

Her daughters were sold one after another while her only son was taught badly by Mother Yang. he looked down at her because she was ugly and disabled. Forget about pitying her; every time she tried to escape from that hellhole, her flesh and blood told her to give up and stay put because it would be embarrassing for him if his mother ran away.

How could Han Ruochen not hate it? How could she not despise the things that Yang Jianming did to her with his family?

But underneath all that anger and hatred, Han Ruochen had become more humbled. It was because of her arrogance that she was better than others and that she could never do anything wrong that she ended up getting schemed against by Yang Jianming and Han Ziyan.

"Sister Ruochen!"

Han Ruochen paused. Even though she did not turn around, she knew that voice all too well. All of a sudden, a surge of pure and maniacal hatred rushed through her, and all she wished to do was to turn around and choke Han Ziyan to death. But after thinking it through, she realised that killing a villain like Han Ziyan was not worth ruining her life for.

And if Han Ziyan died so easily, it would be too big a loss. She wanted Han Ziyan to suffer what she had suffered!

Han Ruochen breathed in and out before turning to look behind her. Her expression was perfectly calm, even though there was a raging storm burning inside of her. She looked at Han Ziyan, who was smiling like a little sun, and her eyes couldn't help but narrow.

Ah. How could she forget? Her mother simply adored Han Ziyan, who was the daughter of her dear lover; thus, she instilled one very important lesson in the heads of the Han siblings. They needed to protect and care for Han Ziyan because she was the youngest daughter.

At first, the siblings had resisted, but under the constant brainwashing of their mother, they started to care for Han Ziyan. From her eldest brother to her second sister, even the rebellious Han Cheng and the youngest Han Shixu—everyone took special care of Han Ziyan.

If Han Ruochen was not wrong, then Han Ziyan had never gone out to even deliver lunch to their father at the pig farm, even this little task was done by Han Shixu, who was only six years old. So, how could Han Ziyan not look good? How could Yang Jianming not be tempted when faced with such an adorable face?
