Chapter 35 - Evolved, into Earls

Written by **EYRAM**

In that moment, while her twin needed her the most, she managed to fully grasp the technique she used, teleportation, when paired with her acute understanding go her immediate environment would make her formidable.

As soon as she teleported there, the place was lined, in molten and larva, the place was hot, and since it was underground, suffocated.

Aidst all that, she noticed her skin, become a glowing yellow, brighter than her usual, and this time it was not yellow runes on her skin it was actually yellow, her hair, turned the brightest yellow, and her eyes looked, yellow amidst that the star on her hand seemed to be growing a fourth point, and it hurt, like hell.

She knew what she had to do and held her sister, teleporting them to a plain somewhere in the forest, not surrounded by particularly large trees, and just then all the lights on them dimmed, and they felt true pain, it felt like their inside churned broke down got destroyed, they were on the brink of death then healed to restoration only for the process to repeat itself once again.

After hours straight of unbearable pain, their range of perception multiplied severally, their stamina was boosted by multiples, and the greatest difference in Seraphina, was more destructive burst power. But for Serena on the other hand had become far more organized, calculating and flexible, as well as durable.

But they could not celebrate these traits for long, Serena, in particular. On her hand was a beautiful four-point star, in it were several weaves, like lines, and she just understood, that they were life, just like that, her whole concept on it was shallow, and she needed to delve deeper, onto what exactly a Starweaver was, the star on her hand and the woven strands.

Soon, Serena heard a sound and could tell it was the thoughts of a beast coming at them, one they could not handle before, but maybe they would, if they worked together just to test out their extra strength.

They looked much more attractive than before the evolution, and as at the moment, they did not look like the carbon copy of each other anymore, though they looked similar, Seraphina looked hotter, her hair was slightly curled at the ends, and looked a bit wet, her skin was oily, and her overall look would make guys drool.

And for Serena, she looked as delicate as a flower, her hair looked like she had straightened it her skin was not glowing but looked hydrated, her lips were not as plump as her sisters, but at that moment, she looked pretty, like an innocent allure, that gave men bad ideas with but a glance.

Soon the beast was upon them, it was a wolf, the same ones Serena once ran away from for dear life. Seraphina, took the initiative t attack, hitting him with a pillar, of earth, which the wolf easily dodged, Serena on the other hand would randomly teleport her sword and could attack him from any direction which he could not see at all.

In the end, after mindlessly throwing elemental orbs, and more Seraphina got tired, she just could not continue, leaving the burden to her sister who never missed a hit, she was subtle, but deadly.

After the wolf died, Serena felt something on the scar in her hand, and the edges grew darker, and the words of the old woman replayed in her head

"A corrupt hear can never be made pure"

And she just had not much of an understanding to it all, after the fight they both made there was back home, and though they looked different a human could easily mistake it for them ageing.

After taking a bath, dressing up in a platinum white shirt, gray pants and suit she made her way out, with not a drop of make-up on her face, yet eyes from all around donning it.

She quickly made it to work and realized at that point she became inhumanely productive; her movements were refined down to the last detail to prevent her from carrying out unnecessary actions that took up energy.

At the end of that day, their customer count was higher than ever, and that was when her colleagues saw the might of her foresight now everything made was sold and demand was so much higher than what as available.

Capitalizing on the hunger of the market, prices steadily increased, allowing them to make much more profit, and if things continued like that soon they would not be in any debt whatsoever.

But things do not always happen as they are expected to, do they. Soon Elaine reached out to her, and unbeknownst to her, her mother went to Seraphina to seek her aid, in their comeback. For Serena, it was obvious that Elaine was incapable of convincing her but on the other hand, Seraphina, who missed out on having a mother during the most important times, was meek to just the thought of being reunited.

Seraphina, was extremely excited to see her mother, though she heard some time ago that Anne was still alive, it was one thing to know it and another to actually see her, alive and kicking, though she looked much frailer than the pictures, had lost a lot of weight, and was a bit taller, her hair longer, but thinner, she was aging, but still looked graceful.

That day, after returning home, and not finding Seraphina, yet again, after all the many times this girl could leave, she was just tired of it, but then the possibility, that Elaine, approached her, was still in her head, but if there was anyone Seraphina hated the most in that time frame it was Elaine, and Vincent.

So yet again she found that question popping up in her head Why? It all made no sense, and she was already losing the ability to differentiate between what was real, usual-natural, and what was supernatural, maybe it just came naturally to her because she had grown used to it.

She decided, if Seraphina was with Elaine, at that moment her strength would not even be enough to tickle them, and if she was elsewhere, and she truly needed Serena, she would find a way to connect to her, it was tiresome always keeping an eye on her and at the moment, Serena had her priorities set straight.

The next day, on her way to work she saw Lance, and began to mentally prepare herself, for yet another awkward conversation, but when she was directly upon him their eyes met and his gaze lingered, far longer than it ever had towards her, as she made her way out, he grabbed her arm soiling her tailored shirt.

"Lance! Have you forgotten my name or you just wanted to annoy me"

"The stain, that will come off, but time, the time we lost, undecided, we will never get it back"

"Yes, the time I am spending here is going to waste. I need to be at work"

"Work? You have your whole life to indulge in that, but I'm here at this moment madly in love with you and you are not willing to give me a second chance"

"Lance, I gave you a second chance"

"Well, third times the charm" Serena scoffed and proclaimed

"I don't know if it's you manly ego, or something of that sort, you have led me on, asked me many times, but I said no, and the day I asked you, I knew it was mutual, so what exactly are you doing here" He tried to say something but she made her way out very quickly.

But soon, she found herself at work, unable to focus for the first time in a while, thinking, what if she said yes, what would be happening? where would they be at that moment?" Then quickly, one of her assistant sales people walked in, bringing out a printed copy of an article, that Stated the Light corporation was a major investor in serene technologies and was responsible for their success.

And then she was sure she made the right decision saying no to Lance, why were guys always finding ways to take control of her self-established property, and why was the article trending so much,

In the end she decided to capitalize on the international attention her company was getting and was investing in yet another commercial structure, but this time somewhere on another continent, South America, Den Ridge City, and like expected no-one expected her back in that city, though she was not there in person, she sent her first batch of employees, they were the ones who had been with her from the start, and she decided to send them on to develop the expansion project.

While she could focus, she also did a fortune's worth of workload, the paperwork that had stockpiled while she was away, and now everything was back in check and organized, but little did Serena know, how ominous were, those lurking in the shadows, like an apex predator, waiting for her point of vulnerability, to strike and keep up their streak of successful hunts.
