Ivy's POV
"You definitely have your mother's nose," Dad chuckled, studying the photograph with a nostalgic smile. "I didn't mean to startle you." He looked between the image and my face, comparing our features. "This is our heritage, Ivy. Our lineage." He tapped the photo reverently. "Our abilities—everything we can do to safeguard our pack—stem from her power."
"You use your abilities to protect the pack?" I searched his eyes for confirmation.
"Naturally. We do what's necessary." Dad sank back into his chair and wiped his hand across his face. "But let's set that aside for now. What's your plan regarding those girls?"
I took a deep breath before answering. "I commanded any wolf who was using their power to control weaker wolves to never command again." I deliberately avoided his gaze, knowing he wouldn't approve.
"Ivy!" His voice carried equal parts shock and disapproval.
