Ivy's POV
I whirled around to face her, but the glow had vanished. As soon as I turned toward Grant, however, I spotted a faint luminescence emanating from a chain hanging around Kathrine's neck.
I raised the pliers threateningly, and she let out a piercing scream before slumping over unconscious. Grant rushed to my side while I clapped a hand over my mouth. "What happened?" he asked frantically, hovering over me as I doubled over.
What started as a tremble in my chest erupted into uncontrollable laughter. Tears streamed down my face as I struggled to breathe.
"Has she completely lost it?" Reid whispered to Grant, which only fueled my hysterical outburst.
"Ivy, talk to me." Grant knelt before me, gripping my face between his hands while I gasped for air.
"She—" I started, interrupted by another fit of giggles. "She actually fainted."
"We can see that. Most she-wolves can't handle torture, Ivy," Grant said with a grimace.
