----------------------------------------
After the incident at the Candy Kingdom—where the sweet land was suddenly attacked by a group of ruthless bandits, leaving chaos in their wake—the news spread like wildfire across the Land of Ooo.
From mighty realms such as the Flame Kingdom, Slime Kingdom, Wildberry Kingdom, Breakfast Kingdom, and Jungle Kingdom, to the smaller dominions like the Muscle Kingdom, Ring Kingdom, Goblin Kingdom, Crab Kingdom, and countless others—every kingdom heard whispers of the attack that had nearly toppled the Candy Monarch herself.
Even in the frozen reaches of the Ice Kingdom, the infamous Ice King caught word of the disaster.
"Wop-wop-what?! Princess Bubblegum was attacked?!" the Ice King shrieked, pacing wildly. "Don't worry, my sweet princess—I'll save you!"
He spun around dramatically, pointing to his penguin companion.
"Gunter! Watch the house while Daddy saves his beloved!"
"Kwah-kwah," Gunter replied flatly, as if used to this nonsense.
The Ice King wasted no time. Leaping from the mouth-like windows of his icy mountain fortress—a hollow mountain capped in snow and frozen spires, littered inside with pizza boxes, underwear, and his strange hobbies—he let his long white beard carry him like a parachute as he soared into the sky, bound for the Candy Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the gossip across Ooo wasn't just about the attack—it was about the heroes. Word spread that two mysterious figures had appeared from nowhere, defeating the bandits and saving both the kingdom and Princess Bubblegum herself.
The rumors painted a strange picture: a yellow dog and a small child—no older than five—standing against an army and walking away as heroes.
---
"Hey, did you hear what happened to the Candy Kingdom a couple days ago?" a berry woman asked, her plump red form still holding onto her humanoid shape.
"Yeah, I heard," a grape-man replied as he butchered a slab of meat behind the counter. "Princess Bubblegum's whole kingdom got attacked by bandits. Poor thing."
The berry woman leaned in. "Well, I heard she was saved. Some folks say two strangers appeared out of nowhere and drove the bandits off."
"I heard that too," the grape butcher said, nodding. "One of them's supposed to be the son of Joshua and Margaret."
The berry woman's eyes widened. "Joshua and Margaret? You mean the two yellow dog investigators?"
An old banana man, doing groceries with his small son, turned his head to join the gossip. "And the other one?"
The butcher lowered his voice as though speaking a legend.
"A child… maybe five years old, they say."
---
As the berry citizens whispered about the mysterious heroes, the scene shifted far away—into the blazing heart of the Flame Kingdom.
Here, the people were fire given form. From walking magma creatures and burning charcoal-men to tiny volcanic critters and flame-shaped humanoids, every citizen buzzed with the same rumor: the Candy Kingdom had been attacked… and saved by two strangers.
The whispers carried upward into the volcanic palace itself, where the Flame King sat upon his throne of molten stone.
He was far larger and fiercer than the other flame folk. His massive frame burned like a living inferno wrapped in heavy copper armor, its chest plate carved with a red pentagon-shaped gem that pulsed with heat. The armor's collar glittered with smaller red rhombus gems, while his bare, flame-shaped hands flickered dangerously. His head was no mere face—it was a roaring fireball, three blazing holes forming eyes and a jagged mouth beneath a five-pointed crown crowned with another gem.
One of his loyal guards leaned close and whispered the rumor.
The Flame King paused, then grinned wide.
"…Oh? Is that so?"
Suddenly, he burst into a booming laugh, each howl sparking violent bursts of flame that lit up the throne room.
"WUHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, how delicious! That sweet, sugar-coated old hag—Bubblegum! Brilliant mind, cunning schemes—and yet, she can still be toppled by a mere band of bandits! AHAHAHA!"
His firestorm laughter echoed across the chamber, sending sparks raining down like meteors.
"Heh… and new heroes, you say? Hmmm… It's been a long time since Billy walked this land. Decades, maybe more." His grin widened. "Interesting…"
Despite his hatred of the Candy Kingdom, the Flame King did not move against it—not even in its moment of weakness. He knew Princess Bubblegum well. For all her sweetness, she was no weakling. To strike her kingdom now was to invite a war he did not yet wish to wage.
Above his throne, chained high in a giant elemental lantern, burned a smaller flame. The lantern's glass glowed dark yellow, its base engraved with orange triangles. Three heavy ropes suspended it like a prison in the sky.
Inside, no more than five years old, sat a small flickering girl—her fire dimmed, her body curled. She stared down silently at her father's wild laughter, too young to understand what the rumors meant, or why she was locked away.
The child… the Flame Princess.
---
Meanwhile, far from the blazing kingdom, the whispers reached another figure.
A woman with long black hair floated lazily across the skies, her pale blue-gray skin gleaming faintly in the daylight she hid from beneath an enormous sunflower hat. Sharp fangs peeked from her smirk as she strummed an axe-shaped guitar slung across her back.
"Hmmm… dala~dararara…" she hummed, biting into a bright red apple. With one sip, its color drained to gray.
"Looks like Bonnie got herself into some nasty business, huh? Heh. Whatever."
She twirled her guitar, hovering lazily on the wind. "Not my problem. But… these two new heroes I keep hearing about…" Her smile widened, mischievous and curious all at once.
"…Now that's interesting." As the dark-haired woman drifted through the sky, her sunflower hat shielding her pale skin from the sun. With a playful smirk, she tossed the drained gray apple down into the woods below.
"Guess I'll need to meet these two heroes myself someday," she muttered. "But for now? Time to crash before my gig tonight at the Coral Kingdom~."
With a lazy strum of her axe-shaped guitar, she vanished into the forest shadows.
---
Across the land, the news of Candy Kingdom's salvation continued to spread. And for once, the whispers carried not just shock—but hope.
Because it had been decades since Billy, the legendary hero of Ooo, had vanished. His name still carried weight, his deeds still sung by bards and storytellers—most of all, the day he defeated the Lich, the darkest evil Ooo had ever known. But since Billy's disappearance, the land had grown quiet… heroless.
Ooo had long been a world of kingdoms, magic, and chaos. Without a champion to defend the weak, monsters and villains roamed unchecked. People had learned to survive on their own. Yet now…
Now, there was talk of a new hero.
A two individual some known as mere child, barely five years old, and his loyal dog brother—stepping forward to protect a kingdom of sweets when no one else could.
No one knew their names for certain. Some of them sees and know what their looked like as eye witness called them "the little human and the yellow dog." even though they didn't know what human is—that not stoping the others whispered that they were Joshua and Margaret's sons. But no matter the rumor, the idea was the same:
A hero had returned to Ooo.
And for the first time in a long time, the people dared to believe.
---
The scene shifted again—deep into the grassy plains. There, nestled beneath the wide, drooping canopy of a massive weeping willow, stood the new treehouse.
Inside, laughter echoed as two figures busied themselves hauling furniture and belongings up into their new home.
--------
"Again… again… aaand—stop! Put the sofa there, bro!" Finn said, guiding Jake as they hauled the last piece of furniture from their old house.
"Beep… beep… beep… yeeeet—ok, bro!" Jake grinned, lowering the sofa onto the wooden floor. His long, stretched-out body snapped back into his regular form: a short, round yellow bulldog with stubby legs, folded ears, and a scrunched-up nose. The little green mohawk he once had was gone—shaved off just a few days after they'd moved in.
Jake wagged his tail, eyes scanning the room. "Man, look at this place! Just a couple days ago it was empty, and now it feels alive, right Finn?"
"Haha, you said it, Jake." Finn grinned, brushing some dust off the floor. Even at five years old, the boy's energy radiated pure excitement.
"Phew, moving that sofa made me starving," Jake said, his laid-back, fun-loving tone rolling out as he stretched his legs in one long step straight into the kitchen. "Let's make some lunch."
He peeked his neck back around the doorframe. "So, whatcha want, little bro?"
"Steak sandwich!" Finn replied immediately, still sweeping the last bit of dust into a corner.
"Hahaha, good one. I was thinking the same thing!" Jake laughed, stretching his arms ridiculously wide, even sprouting an extra pair just to get the food ready faster.
As Jake worked in the kitchen area that still at living room, frying up steak for sandwiches, tiny footsteps echoed down the ladder from the upper floor.
Finn had just finished sweeping the last of the dust into a corner when a small, teal-blue robot hopped into view.
"Wooooaah! Morning, Finn! Morning, Jake!" chirped the little robot, full of energy.
It was none other than BMO—the living game console.
BMO looked like a mix between an old Macintosh computer, a Game Boy Color, and an Atari controller. Their teal body had an arrow pad, buttons of different shapes, a floppy disk slot, and two controller ports. On the sides of their case were the letters BMO, and from the "O" sprouted their skinny arms. Their screen flickered with a bright 8-bit smile.
BMO had crash-landed just a few days ago in a tiny space pod near the treehouse. Finn and Jake had rushed to help, pulling them out of the wreck. Since then, BMO had become their loyal companion—living with them, playing games, and bringing their playful, imaginative spirit into the treehouse.
"Hi BMO!" Finn grinned, scooping them up into a hug. The little robot beeped happily in his arms.
"Heheh, hi Finn! Hi Jake! Did you guys play any games while I was off?" BMO asked, their screen-face glowing with a hopeful smile.
"Nah, little dude," Jake said, his head stretching around from the kitchen to glance at them. His paws were busy slicing bread and veggies while a steak sizzled in the pan. "We were just moving the last of the furniture from the old house into this one. Now we're finally done."
"Yaaay! Then after lunch, we can play a game together!" BMO cheered, kicking their little legs in excitement as Finn carried them to the kitchen table.
---
As Jake prepared the sandwiches, a gentle breeze drifted through the open window. The warm sunlight poured into the room, giving everything a cozy glow.
Finn carefully set BMO down on the long wooden bench at the table, then tried to climb up himself. Being only five years old, though, the bench was just a little too high.
"Wooop—here you go, buddy." Jake stretched out an extra arm and scooped Finn up, plopping him onto the seat with ease.
"Thanks, Jake," Finn said with a grateful smile.
BMO hopped off the bench and onto the wooden table. Finn quickly reached out to steady them, making sure the little robot didn't tumble.
"Thanks, Finn!" BMO beeped cheerfully, their screen flashing a smile.
Meanwhile, Jake was finishing up in the kitchen. "Aaand... just the final touch... annnnnd—DONE!" he shouted proudly. He sprinkled rosemary and drizzled sauce across the sizzling steak before sliding it into thick bread.
He strutted over and stretched his arm across the room, presenting the food with flair. "Here you go, Finn! Jake's famous sandwiiiiich—ahhh!"
The sandwich was nearly twice the size of Finn's tiny hands, but that didn't stop him from chomping into it with gusto.
"Thanks, Jake! This is delicious!" Finn mumbled through a mouthful, his face beaming.
"Hehehe, glad you like it, little bro." Jake chuckled, his stretchy body bouncing slightly as he took a seat beside Finn.
Then, with a grin, he placed another sandwich in front of BMO. "And here, little dude. I made one for you—even though you don't actually eat."
"Yaaay! Thank you, Jake!" BMO cheered, lifting the sandwich with tiny hands. Their screen flickered to a pixelated face as they made playful nom nom noises. "Mmmm! Yum yum yum!"
The three of them laughed together—the sound of family filling their new home for the first time.
---
As the three of them enjoyed their lunch, a few minutes later—
Knock, knock, knock!
Someone was at their front door.
Finn, halfway through his oversized steak sandwich, froze mid-bite. "Huh? Someone's knocking? Jake, did you invite somebody, bro?"
"Naaah, I don't think so, Finn," Jake replied, finishing his sandwich in one gigantic bite before swallowing with a gulp. "I didn't even tell my friends about the new place yet."
Finn slid off the bench, landing with a little thud. "If that's so... better check it out."
He started toddling toward the ladder with his short legs. Jake stretched out his arm, scooping BMO into his hands, and bounced down behind him, his stretchy legs springing like rubber bands.
The sound came again—
Knock, knock, knock!
The front door was at the bottom of the tree house. Right now, the entry hall was bare. Normally it was meant to hold piles of gold and treasure from adventures—but since Finn and Jake hadn't gone on any yet, it was just an empty room with a wooden door at one end and the ladder back up into the hollow trunk at the other.
"I'll get it, I'll get it!" Finn shouted, running with little hops toward the door.
He swung it open—and standing on the other side was a tall, humanoid figure. His hair was neatly swept back, crimson with streaks of white. His pale skin had a faint candy-like sheen, striped red in places, as though sculpted from peppermint itself. He wore a crisp blue butler's suit with a red bow tie and polished shoes. His white eyes glimmered with urgency.
It was Peppermint Butler.
Unlike the round, flat candy man seen in the original show, here he appeared more humanlike—though still clearly made of candy.
The figure bowed low, his posture refined. "Greetings, young hero. You may not recognize me, so allow me to introduce myself."
"I am Peppermint Butler—loyal servant of Her Highness, Princess Bubblegum, ruler of the Candy Kingdom. The very kingdom you and your brother saved not long ago."
Finn blinked, mouth slightly open, unsure what to say.
At that moment Jake stretched his body down the hall, head poking out from behind Finn. "Who's at the door, Finn—" His eyes went wide. "Wooooah! Is that a candy person?!"
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
FINN POV:
Well… that was an unexpected visitor we got here. Heh. Peppermint Butler—Princess Bubblegum's loyal subject and trusted butler. A candy person with uncanny knowledge of dark magic, just like in the original show.
I blinked a few times—not exactly in surprise, but… yeah, I didn't expect to see him again this soon. Don't get me wrong, I knew we'd bump into him sooner or later, but isn't this way too early?
I mean, how the heck did he even know where we lived? We haven't gone back to the Candy Kingdom since we saved them, and it's not like we handed out directions. Creepy. Was he secretly watching us? Yeah, I know this treehouse fortress is in the same spot as in the cartoon—right between the grasslands and the Ice Kingdom—but still.
Sure, we can see the Candy Kingdom castle from here, but that doesn't make it less creepy that this guy just found us so casually.
And here's the thing that keeps making me uneasy: him, and the other candy people I met the first time me and Jake saved them, looked way more… humanoid. Like, a little too human compared to the silly sweet-shaped folks I remember from the show.
Yeah, maybe I died old in my original world, but I still got scraps of memory from the show lingering in my head. Not 100%, not everything clear, but I'm pretty sure they weren't supposed to look like this.
"I need your help, dear heroes!" said the candy person standing at our door.
…Heroes? Already? Wow. We save the Candy Kingdom one time and suddenly we've got a title? Guess word travels fast when your whole body's made of sugar.
"Help? Help for what?" my yellow, magical brother asked as he gently set BMO down from his arms. I tilted my head up at this 4'8" candy dude—Peppermint Butler—who looked like he was really sweating (or… melting?). He seemed desperate, waiting for Jake's question to settle.
"This may sound rude—after all, the Candy Kingdom owes you two a great debt for saving us and our princess—but we really need your help again. You see… the princess—"
And that's where I felt it. That déjà vu gut-punch. Like, I already knew what he was about to say. It was too obvious.
But before Pep could even finish—
"WUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Princess, now you're mine! No bandits gonna hurt you no more!"
That voice. That obnoxious, echoing laugh. Yup—i knew it.
I turned toward the sound, and sure enough—there he was.
The Ice King.
A short, blue-skinned old man with a long goblin nose, scraggly white beard, and skinny limbs ending in pointy fingers and toes. His tunic was the same dark blue I remembered, and above his head, the sharp golden crown gleamed under the sun. Flapping like a maniac through the air using his beard as wings—seriously, his beard—he carried Princess Bubblegum frozen in a block of ice. She was tied up, her pink hair spilling out of the frozen prison, being carted away like she was luggage.
Of course. He kidnapped her.
Sigh.
"Princess Bubblegum's been kidnapped by the Ice King!?" Peppermint Butler gasped, pointing toward the sky where the old man was already disappearing over the icy mountains. His eyes went wide with panic.
I made sure to put on my best 'confused five-year-old face.' Gotta play the part. "Ice King??" I said, eyebrows scrunched in my most dramatic angry-kid look.
"Who's that crazy old guy??" Jake asked, completely honest. Unlike me, he didn't have old-world memories of the show.
Peppermint Butler was practically pacing. "The Ice King is a ice wizard—and the ruler of the Ice Kingdom! He always does this—kidnapping princesses across the land of Ooo. But Princess Bubblegum… she's his favorite target!"
He looked at me and Jake like his whole world depended on it. "Please… you're the only ones who can help us this time!"
Internally, I sighed. Externally? Brave face. Gotta commit. "Jake! Let's go—we need to save the princess!" I said, pointing dramatically like a true hero.
Jake's ears perked, and he gave me his signature grin. "Heh, knew you'd say that. We just had lunch, we're fueled up, and we're ready for action! Time for our second debut!" He puffed up shapeshifter his body into a muscular hero shape and struck a pose.
"Oh, thank you, thank you!" Peppermint Butler exclaimed, bowing deeply.
"Awww, but what about our game time after lunch?" BMO pouted, hopping closer to us with their pixel-face frowning. "I just made a new game on my system!"
Jake crouched down to eye-level with him. "Maybe later, little dude. Right now, Finn and me gotta be heroes. But you've got an important mission, too."
BMO's screen brightened immediately. "Gaaasp! What's my mission?!"
"Protect the treehouse while we're gone," Jake said with his usual laid-back but reassuring tone. "Think you can handle that, little buddy?"
"Roger, Jake!" BMO saluted dramatically, like they and Tiny little soldier on duty.
I slipped my arms through the straps of my green backpack, the familiar weight pressing against my back. Instead of a knife or crossbow this time, I pulled out my trusty bat that have handle like sword —something about it felt right.
"Alright—let's go! What time is it Jake!?" I said, grinning wide.
"Hahaha, yeah! It's Adventure time, baby!" Jake laughed, stretching his body long and strong as I climbed onto his back.
Peppermint Butler waved us off, calling after us, "Good luck, heroes!" as we sprinted across the grasslands toward the snowy horizon, chasing the beard-flapping wizard who had just stolen the princess.
---------------
DOUGH: BOOOM! Finally done with this.
LEMON: Yaaay, good job!
DOUGH: Thanks! …Wait, how come you're always so nice to me?
LEMON: Huh? Oh, come on, I'm just being nice!
DOUGH: Ah-huh… alright then.
LEMON: By the way, I still wanna know—what's your third fanfic gonna be about?
DOUGH: …What now?
LEMON: Don't play dumb! You've been dodging my question lately. Last time I asked, you mentioned a story about a guy sent to a world of magic and witches. Isn't that supposed to be one of your other fanfics? I thought you'd upload that before starting this one. What happened?
DOUGH: Uhhh… yeah. I actually have like four chapters done, but I didn't feel like publishing it. Honestly, it's kinda… too rainbow-y. Like, inspired by a very rainbow-y cartoon. I wrote it just for fun, but I don't think it's good enough to share. I finished the first season and half of season two, then dropped it.
LEMON: …Ah, I see.
DOUGH:ummmm... Anyway! How ya'all like this chapter,i know it short and not to fun..but i try my best for it.
So if ya'all want extra like OMAKE i do on my Ben 10 fanfic,i'll start do that in next chapter!
Bye bye!
