Chapter 60: Oppressed Waves
There was nothing more painful to the princes than knowing that their mate was in danger and they couldn't do anything to help her.
The salt of the sea burned their wounds.
Nyxmaris coughed, spitting up poison that wasn't even there.
His breaths dragged in and out like heavy waves…each gasp stabbed him from the inside. His wrists were rubbed from the chains, and every time he moved, the iron rattled, forcing him to kneel even lower.
"Damn it," he whispered. "I can't…can't feel my arm."
Beside him, Caspian pressed his head against the wet stone wall. His eyes were closed, but his jaw was tight, teeth grinding with pain. "Don't… speak. Save your strength."
"I don't need strength," Nyxmaris replied back with a bitter smile. "I need her."
The name didn't leave his lips, but all the brothers knew who he meant.
