Chapter 59: The Sea's Shield
Levius's fingers trembled as he slid the golden buttons of his trousers.
His breath was heavier than usual, and heat started burning his veins as he looked down at Nadeira.
She was sleeping on his bed, weak, her chest was rising and falling very slowly, and her lashes wet with exhaustion.
"She's mine," he thought, licking the corner of his lip. "Even if she curses me, even if she dreams of others… she's mine. No one else will ever touch her. Not while I breathe."
He reached out, his hand hovered over her pale collarbone, tracing down toward her chest.
But then…there was a loud *Whoosh!*
A rush of water burst from the air itself. It swirled and wrapped tightly around Nadeira's entire body.
A perfect bubble of sea magic cocooned her. It was shining like liquid glass.
Levius staggered back, blinking. "What-?!"
The bubble pulsed, glowing blue. Drops of seawater trickled across the bed sheets, soaking them.
