Chapter 55: The Bubble
When Nadeira breathed in and out, she seemed to be way calmer than before.
There was an energy flowing in her veins that was giving her confidence.
So as the door opened and Levius walked in, straight-backed, smug, like he already owned the room, Nadeira knew how to handle him.
"My bride-to-be," he declared in a tone that was dripping with sarcasm. "Are you ready to play my doll at the banquet?"
Nadeira didn't answer. Why would a shark answer to a fish?
She lifted her eyes slowly, and red veins in her eyes showed that her anger was already boiling.
The memory of fire against her skin made her lungs twitch, but this time there was no fear. This time, she had the sea's whisper inside her chest.
Levius stepped closer. "Come, don't keep the king waiting."
Nadeira's fingers curled against her thigh. Her lips moved silently…"suffocate…" She didn't need to shout.
The aura of her presence was forced to change immediately..
