Evans had been observing both the inspector and the three subjects who had not stopped watching the passengers.
"What are they looking for? To be magicians at the top of the fifth circle, they hid their presence well from the Academy inspector or maybe she didn't consider them important."
Evans was alert, because Aria was on the ship and she didn't want anyone to notice that she had a great affinity for light magic, which, added to her first magic circle, made her a desired target for the Sacred Temple of the Sun. A Temple that she had instinctively disliked since the day she saw the priests at the hunting tournament. At the current moment, Evans had already ruled out the Duchess and the organization of assassins that invaded the Qualty mansion, because he realized that the subjects did not pay attention to them, they only watched them to the same extent as they watched the rest of the passengers.
Another who did not stop observing the three subjects constantly with his indecipherable gaze was Asert. But since Asert did not hide when watching them, there was some tension, which made the instructor begin to monitor the movements of the three subjects to guarantee the safety of the passengers and the dignity of the Stariar Academy.
That hostility evident at the time between Asert and the three subjects who were covered by the white robes disappeared the night before the ship arrived at the island. But that same hostility made Evans more defensive.
"A third circle dares to provoke some magicians in the fifth circle. Do you trust the academy inspectors? Or do you trust your power?"
Evans could not get answers, but in the end he preferred to monitor the movements of the three subjects since he considered them more dangerous because he did not know their affiliation.
A few days later. Around noon.
From the bow you could already see the Academy Island, the most surprising thing was that at the moment the island appeared you could see a tower whose tip shone as it reflected the sun's rays. That was the tower where the director and archmage of the Academy, Vilian Merizter, resided, who was also called the archmage of burning death, because with her powerful fire elemental magic at the peak of the eighth rank she made a kingdom disappear that provoked her wrath.
A few hours after the island became visible the ship docked at the docks of the island's port.
A ramp extended towards the dock powered by magical technology powered by the mana stones. The passengers began to get off the ship, Evans carried Aria in his arms while keeping an eye on the three subjects who remained on the ship until the end.
"So you are not allowed to enter the island. Who are they?"
Upon arriving at the island, the environment was surprising for some passengers who set foot on the island for the first time, among whom were the first-year students.
Carefully cobbled streets, a clean environment, colorful premises, and streetlights with luminous stones inside that were beginning to shine dimly because night would soon arrive.
"It seems like a fairly prosperous and peaceful place, now I understand why the Duchess didn't want to give me the opportunity to enter the Academy. It must be very difficult to infiltrate someone into this environment."
Evans and his group requested a carriage and were taken to an attractive house, with only two floors, three bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms, a dining room and a kitchen; Compared to the mansion it was quite small, but it was comfortable enough for Aria to live in peace.
Evans inspected the place with Aria who kept holding his hand while looking at the residence.
-Are we going to live here? -Aria asked curiously.
Evans crouched down, placed his hand on Aria's shoulder and said:
-You will live here with Ana; Stan will protect them; you must obey Ana; I will come to see you at every opportunity that arises. Study, remember, you will be the coolest magician in the world.
Aria hugged Evans, she was a little sad, she was used to being around Evans; but he knew that he had to focus on his strength and he also trusted that after Aria entered the Academy his future would be bright.
That night Evans showed Aria a puppet show by manipulating the toys and the harlequin puppet, shortly after Aria began to move one of the puppets herself and said to her brother in a sweet, somewhat pleading voice:
-Can you give me the harlequin?
-Because? -Evans asked.
-I know it's your favorite toy. -Aria responded.
"My favorite toy, I guess from your perspective it must seem that way since I was always practicing with the harlequin"
Evans smiled and said:
-Give me a hug and it's yours.
Aria hugged Evans and he hugged her.
"My little one, I wish you the best"
When Aria fell asleep Ana took her to her room while she still held the harlequin in her arms.
Evans, for his part, prepared everything that would take him to the academy. From his ring he took out a mannequin wearing an elegant black and white uniform, with the Academy emblem on the pocket.
The next morning, Evans was looking in the mirror to see that his uniform had been custom-made, since he had become accustomed to elegant clothing, which enhanced the greatness of the nobility.
"Excellent, I would congratulate the tailor if I could"
Evans put on the white glove, left his room and Ana, Lizet and Stan were waiting for him in the living room.
Evans looked at Stan firmly and said:
-Your duty is to protect Aria. Never forget it.
-I won't do it! -Stan exclaimed.
-Excellent. -Evans said looking towards Aria's room.
"I hope you're well"
Evans and Lizet walked towards the exit, opened the door and walked towards the Academy, they still had a margin of time to arrive, since the aptitude tests would be at noon.
