Chapter 30 - Chapter 4 season 2

It was three weeks before the aptitude tests of the Stariar Academy were to begin, through which the classes to which the students would attend were assigned, there were usually 7 classes, being the S class the one longed for by those who wished to stand out for their talents on the continent, it was also the class that offered the best resources for the growth of the skills of wizards and warriors, that is why it was the class that Evans wished to enter.

In his room Evans had stored his best clothes in three different briefcases which he then stored in his magic ring. He put on a tailored white suit, with some black trimmings as well as the tie, he had also stored other suits to wear during the ride.

Knock, knock, knock.

-Go ahead! -Evans exclaimed.

The maid Rians opened the door to the room and informed him:

-Young Sir, the Duchess wishes to see you.

"That witch is planning something; I'll find out what she's up to."

-Come on, we can't keep the duchess waiting. -Evans said in an indecipherable tone.

"So this is the duchess's study, it is quite elegant, it seems that she wants to compete with her own husband"

The Duchess's magical power begins to increase; but Evans looked at her firmly and said:

-If you want to play like this, I will. Are you sure?

The Duchess stopped and tried to use her magical perception to detect any hidden guard, but she did not perceive anyone, but the confidence that Evans showed gave her chills.

'A warrior at the seventh rank,' the Duchess thought, as only a person more powerful than her could have a level of stealth that she could not detect. Despite the incident, the duchess asked him calmly:

-Are you going to take Aria? Do you have your father's permission?

-I think it's something unspoken between my father and me; He allowed me to protect my sister, so I will do it until the end. -Evans stated.

The duchess was silent for a few seconds and finally warned Evans:

-You will be at the Academy all the time; you're sure you can protect Aria.

-Why don't we stop wasting each other's time? Tell me what you want? I will act accordingly. -Evans stated, looking with an almost threatening firmness at the duchess.

"Did this guy really change just because of his sister?" The Duchess tried to find some trace of doubt or fear in Evans, but found nothing to lean on to control him.

-I just wanted to comply with the formality, Rian!

Rian approached Evans and handed him a small Limgic wooden box; Evans opened it without concern, as he was prepared to get rid of the duchess if she provoked him directly.

"100,000 gold coins; it's a pity that I can't use my energy, this money seems dangerous"

-I appreciate it, Duchess. We will see each other again in five years, it will be a pleasant reunion. -Evans expressed with a polite and indecipherable attitude, and then retired.

"Is he threatening me? What can a child do in 5 years?" the Duchess asked herself, but as always, everything related to Evans was an enigma to her.

"It is unpleasant to meet enemies and just chat; I would rather kill them, but Henry would be the successor; if she wins in the end even if she is dead, that would not be revenge"

Evans left the mansion heading straight for the carriages that would take him to the port of Darant County, to board a ship and sail to Stariar Island.

Evans stopped at the carriage doors, called to Stan and said:

-Give this to Mr. Bernand; tell him to get rid of this as quickly as possible.

Stan took the little Limgic wooden box, nodded and left to get on a horse and ride quickly to the smithy.

-Young sir, I will only escort you to the port, on all ships traveling to Stariar Island there are academy inspectors protecting the passengers. -Khan informed Evans.

Khan headed for his own carriage and soon after, the caravan began to move forward.

A few days later, the carriage was moving forward.

Evans looked at Aria and said firmly:

-Aria do you remember what I told you?

-Yes," Aria replied, sitting down firmly.

-Then say it again. -Evans said.

-I must not use light magic in public. -said Aria.

-Exactly, don't forget it or your brother will get hurt again. - Evans warned her.

Aria's eyes filled with tears and he opened his arms, she ran to hug him.

-My little one, it will be all right. Use whatever magic you wish at home; and practice as much as you want, with the rest of the forms of magic you learned, just don't use light magic in public until you enter the Academy.

Aria nodded, but didn't move away from Evans until she fell asleep.

-Ana, Lizet, watch Aria very carefully. -Evans ordered them firmly.

Lizet looked uncomfortable, apparently she wanted to say something, but did not dare; Evans looked at Ana and Ana answered:

-Young Sir; Lizet took the academy's admission test and managed to pass it. if you allow it, she would like to join the Academy.

Evans had a firm look, he had a bad feeling and he didn't know why; at the end he looked at Aria and asked Ana:

- Do you agree?

-Yes, I know Lizet has talent because of her lineage, it would be a waste not to give her the opportunity. Don't worry, young Sir; I will give my all to ensure Miss Aria's safety.

Evans heard Ana's promise to protect Aria, in the years that Ana spent by her side, he understood that she was a trustworthy person, so he only said in a calm voice while still looking at Aria warmly:

-I will trust you; Don't let anything happen to him.

Days passed, the carriage continued to move forward, and Evans murmured, while everyone in the carriage was attending to their business:

-I can smell the sea.

Ana avoided looking at Evans as she thought, "How can young Evans recognize the smell of the sea?" Ana's question was quite objective, she had taken care of Evans since he was a baby and he had never been near the sea; Ana preferred to divert her attention and looked at Lizet who seemed a little worried, and as a means to calm her doubts she distracted herself by saying to Lizet:

-Don't worry, you will do well at the Academy.

-Thank you. -Lizat expressed, forcing a smile while looking at Evans out of the corner of her eye.

Ana noticed Lizet's attitude and could not help but sigh, since everything indicated that the engagement of Evans and Princess Amelia was a fact.
