CHAPTER 56: | THE MINIATURE WORLD OF THE FIRST SEGMENT | 12

---

Licking my lips, as devouring Tellus's monster core wasn't going to sate my hunger, I sighed.

'I got lucky that he was dumb enough to follow me up above and do as I've predicted, turning most of his mass into a sword.'

This time, it was pure luck that my opponent was dumb enough to fall into my scheme, because if he hadn't, I would be ripped to pieces by now.

It was the arrogance that stemmed from him after playing god for a long time.

That's why he was confident that he could face me in the sky, completely forgetting that his domain was the earth, not the sky.

"Speaking of sky, isn't it time for that gigantic griffin to arrive here?"

Celeste clenched her teeth as she shouted at me, desperation visible on her face.

"Alister, buy me some time to complete this, and while you're at it, take care of the Sovereign of the Sky, the Almighty Griffin!"

Celeste knows the dread of the 'Sky Sovereign', the one who annihilated their first to fifth expedition teams before their sixth, with the help of her new sibling adept in aero combat, managed to kill it.

But they'd suffered heavy losses even though they emerged as the victor.

Celeste couldn't help but clench her teeth at her weakness, that she couldn't help her younger brother, that she was a burden, as she shouted.

"Alister, the Sky Sovereign's strength lies in the sky, so bring it to the ground and it won't be an issue to deal with."

I nodded at her advice as I gazed at the hologram before me, my smile curving into a devilish grin.

---

My smile widened as I couldn't help but chuckle loudly.

"Bwahahahaha!"

'Finally, after waiting for so long, I've finally got it, an Affinity that would turn this table around!'

I shouted internally as the ground shook.

Pillars made of stone rose to the skies, forming a new formation, as I chuckled.

"Now, Sky Sovereign, what will you do?"

The Sky Sovereign circling us from the sky smirked as it looked at the pillars on the ground.

Then it screeched as the wind howled, and all of the pillars were cut into chunks.

'I see. So you were aiming for that.'

Raising my index finger, the pillars shook violently as they branched out like the branches of the world tree, catching all of the flying debris and turning it into a mesmerizing piece of art.

The 'Sky Sovereign' was clearly displeased by my response.

With utter disregard for the formation of pillars meant to restrict its flight, it dove toward the ground, confident that I lacked the power to resist.

Just as it expected, I couldn't fight back, as its form was like a gale that phased through the speed of sound, as its claws appeared inches away from my face.

But my smile widened at the revelation that it would serve itself to me on a silver platter.

My fist moved with lightning speed as I braced myself for the impact, intercepting its sonic claw strike.

My left hand, coated with an earth armament and saturated with mana to the extreme, coagulated into a gauntlet just as impact followed.

Boom!

The ground exploded violently as it caved in from the impact of its attack.

Then blood exploded from my left arm before it flew meters away.

The 'Sky Sovereign's' arrogant gaze looked down at me as it snorted before swiping its other claws at me.

Shook!

The wind howled violently as it followed its swiping motion.

Its claws cut through my clothes, but it was futile as my living armor, which was now my skin, intercepted its attacks.

As I gazed at my arms from the distance, the wound closed in a matter of a split second before it was replaced by an Earthen hand now gripping its claws.

Then the countless eyes hidden in my body were now revealed, all taking the color of red as they stared at the 'Sky Sovereign' as I muttered coldly.

"Gaze of the Fallen."

The 'Sky Sovereign' felt danger for the first time in their clash as the countless eerie eyes that suddenly appeared on its opponent's body glowed intensely.

Being a demonic beast at the ranks of Sovereign, it jumped away with dread.

But before it could get to safety, its fate was already sealed, as 'Gaze of the Fallen' was extremely effective the closer my opponent was.

Since it would get harder to maximize its strength when my opponent was a few meters away from me.

Blood gushed out from the 'Sky Sovereign's' seven orifices.

Its fur, once majestic, was now covered in blood, but it fought back even with its mana pathways now in a jumbled mess as it unleashed a concentrated wind burst towards me.

The wind shook violently as the pavement it passed was shredded into pieces along with the pillars surrounding us.

But I shook my head.

"You're quite dense, birdbrain."

With a flick of my finger, a needle made of earth was launched into the wind burst's weakest point, with the help of my skill 'Gaze of the Fallen' along with my intent mastery locating its weak point in a matter of a split second.

The gust of wind dispersed in the next second, as I walked towards the terrified 'Sky Sovereign'.

It shifted into its humanoid form as she shouted.

"Please spare me, great one!"

But I gazed at her with a gentle smile as I raised my index finger, then swiped it down.

An orange line appeared on her shocked face as she pleaded.

"Plea..."

Splash!

Her head tilted as blood exploded from her severed skull.

I chuckled, then picked up her severed skull.

"Beauty is ineffective against me, but a nice attempt indeed to tempt me with your beauty after defeat."

I gazed at the sky, and none of the griffins nor the wyverns that she commanded entered the maze of pillars.

They knew it was a trap that would greatly restrict their mobility.

"Well, unlike a certain someone, I guess."

Licking my lips, I let out a predatory smile as I took my bite, and the sound of bones breaking echoed.

Crash!

'Indeed, she was delicious.'

That was my verdict against her mentally as I slowly devoured her humanoid body without batting an eye.

Celeste, shocked by my display of savage cruelty, raised her thumb, then shakily spoke with fear visible in her eyes.

"Great job..."

She was speechless.

She know that her brother have a spirit eye, type of skills but how could he possess that?

Celeste pointed at the pillar as she clenched her teeth.

She was questioning herself, about how could her brother have the ability to control earth upon defeating Tellus, the man that was head over heels for her, then the 'Sky Sovereign,' Talia.

She was quite shocked.

How could her brother defeat two Sovereigns in less than an hour without sweating or incurring any heavy damage...?

Well, he did lose his hand, but looking at him eating his previous hand as a new one was growing, Celeste could feel goosebumps running across her back.

As she chanted for the portal activation, her expression brightened.

But as she was about to call her brother, pain erupted on her back as he kicked her into the portal and said.

"Please tell Mother to forgive me, since I'm quite fond of her... Oh, and also, you've done a great job, sister."

Celeste was filled with anger as she felt the will of her brother, that he would stay.

And she, being a sister, shouted with rage as the last image she saw of him was his smiling face.

"You damned bastard, just what are you doi...!"
