CHAPTER 55: | THE MINIATURE WORLD OF THE FIRST SEGMENT | 11
---
Twelve swords hovered behind him, as golems made of earth formed with his every step.
He halted.
Then he gazed at me with interest.
His calm demeanor was evident in his every action, the lizard before me was extremely powerful, more so than me.
So I asked him.
"Why have you come to intercept us, oh lizard of this dungeon?"
But he only replied to my question after his body trembled.
Then, laughter filled the swamp as he bowed like a gentleman and introduced himself with the grace of a noble.
"Allow me to introduce my name, human. This great one's name is Tellus, the God of the Earth of this very world."
I gazed at him as our eyes locked for but a fleeting moment.
Yet, a mental battle had already unfolded within our mental space in that very moment, and the result was me losing, by being decapitated with a massive sword, sliced in half, or smashed into bits by his earth-formed hands.
So I nodded in acknowledgement of his strength.
Even without revealing much in a mental duel, he defeated me by sheer skill alone.
That was only possible by something more than a skill, so I smiled then asked.
"I see. So you're the Bearer of Earth, a being blessed by Earth, the one who possesses the affinity of Earth, right?"
Tellus nodded as he pointed his index finger at me, and the twelve swords hovering behind him now pointed at me.
Arrogance was visible on his face as he then pointed at Celeste, and the swords shifted towards her as his smile widened.
"My, it's been quite some time, my lovely Celeste. Did you have enough time to think of my offer, about becoming my wife?"
Celeste sneered as she coldly gazed at him, as if he was some frog that lusted after a swan, as she hugged her brother affectionately.
"Why would I, Celeste, a woman with beauty, settle for a lizard when I could have my brother for myself?"
Tellus trembled after hearing Celeste's answer as he coldly muttered.
"So you've chosen death? Such a pity that it seems like, I have to love a corpse."
His tone was eerily creepy as he gazed at me with anger, then muttered with a calm smile on his face.
"Could you please die?"
Swords made of earth flashed in and out of existence before they appeared inches away from me in a matter of a split second.
I closed my eyes, then muttered.
"Mantis State, Mad Gate."
My field of perception became absolute as my palm struck the flying swords hurling at me.
I intercepted all of his attacks while absorbing the impact of his every attack.
Minutes passed as he motionlessly sent more swords hurling towards me.
He calculated my danger threat before he clapped his hands, and arms made of earth rose from the ground, trying to crush my feet.
But it was useless.
As I raised my leg to knee level, with a single swift motion, I stomped on the lake that I walked on, sending the impact to the projection.
Crash!
The pair of hands that rose from the ground crumbled as I gazed at him with a bored expression.
"Was this all you could muster?"
Tellus gazed at me, intercepting his every projectile with ease, as he scoffed at my provocation before pointing at me.
"Playtime's over, so now it's time for you to die."
Tellus had already analyzed his opponent's habits, strength, and patterns.
He observed his intents since the very beginning as he formulated a plan to deal with him in one go.
Tellus muttered under his breath as he chanted an incantation for a skill.
He was focused, but before he could finish, Celeste shouted.
"Domain of Illusory Dreams!"
The pinkish mist that formed from her earlier spells had now exploded, enveloping the surrounding space in a split second as she shouted.
"Brother, now!"
I chuckled as she was finally done with her spell, and I too was finished in my preparations.
I conjured a ball of molten magma, that hovered in my palm.
"Damn, that hurts. But well, now it's goodbye, Tellus."
'Torrents of Extinction' slowly made its way towards Tellus as I grabbed Celeste by her waist and leaped away from the site, shouting.
"Torrents of Extinction, NOW!"
A purple light erupted.
Then orange light enveloped the swamp, as everything turned white in the next second as the 'Torrents of Extinction' exploded, and the entire forest was blown away by the intense explosion.
It then sucked everything into where it was, like a black hole, before exploding again.
BOOM!
That was the sound that erupted, and the only way I could describe this situation was pure chaos.
Celeste trembled in my embrace as she shouted with urgency.
"Alister, go now! That bastard isn't dead yet!"
I nodded at her words, since it was better to listen to her than not.
I stepped on a barrier made of my own mana in the air before leaping away, activating 'Quantum Displacement' again and again.
But Celeste shouted frantically as she pointed at a massive dragon made of earth flying towards us.
"Alister, hurry! That bastard has already recovered!"
I shook my head at her desperation as I chuckled while flying across the air.
Then six wings protruded from my back, and my speed increased by leaps and bounds.
The mountains where the final guardian of this floor rested, became closer and closer as I passed through the titans, now cursing at me.
"That bastard! I smell the blood of my child from him! Chase him!"
The titans joined the chase as Tellus, now in the form of a dragon, flew across the sky like a gale.
The griffins from the sky, displeased by my sudden appearance, joined the chase.
But their efforts were useless.
I was a few hundred miles away from the summit of the mountain, and I could reach it in a matter of seconds as I pushed myself harder.
Celeste too tried her best to intercept the attacks of Tellus and the griffins as she chanted like a maniac in my embrace, shouting.
"Divine Wind, lend us your stormy wrath!"
Then blades of typhoons cut through the sky as they intercepted the flying griffins and the swords sent by Tellus as she shouted again.
"Alister, I'm out of mana, so god please! Please! Let us arrive!"
Her pleading could be heard as Tellus snorted.
A giant sword formed from his mass as he now took the form of a harpy and shouted.
"Descend, Earth Calamity!"
I chuckled at his futile attempt, as I was anticipating his very attack.
Pushing myself into the sky, I darted towards the flying sword as I shouted,
"World-Rending Scream!"
My voice shook the very space as I dodged the giant sword by a hair's breadth.
Before anchoring my arm into the sword, I threw a sphere towards him as a final gift, as our form flew to the summit in seconds, as I shouted.
"Foolish lizard!"
Tellus shouted as he saw the very same sphere that destroyed a huge chunk of the Swamp of Despair.
"DAMNED HUMANNNNNNN..."
BOOOOOM!!!
The sky trembled as what happened in the Swamp of Despair unfolded yet again.
The sky turned orange for a moment, then into pure white as the 'Torrent of Extinction' exploded before it sucked everyone into a single place, before exploding again.
Tellus's body was utterly destroyed by the explosion.
Now, he was only a sentient monster core falling from the sky with great speed as he cursed.
"Damnit! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! How dare that human do this to me, I the great God of Earth! Just you wait for me! Once I get down on the ground, gaining a new body won't be a problem...!"
"Quantum Displacement."
A familiar and chilling voice echoed.
To his dismay, Tellus didn't land on the ground, but into something else.
As he scanned the horizon with his field of perception, he gulped with fear in realization.
The earth didn't catch him, but the demonic human caught him, now smiling like a demon.
To his horror, the skin of the human named Alister Von Fai cracked open as it revealed its flesh.
Then, he looked into his mouth, opened wide.
Tellus shouted in horror.
"'This can't be it! Yea, this can't be it! How can I, the God of Earth, the creator of all, Tellus, die by the hands of some mongrels! Damnit! Fuck! Fuck! Fuc...!"
