Chapter 27 - A Prophecy from The Ashes

Mimir got up from his chair. He walked around his table, rested his arms on the table and leaned on it. He then asks,

"Well, you've come this far. What is it that demands I stop writing prophecies and give you my full attention?"

Gabriel smiled and adjusted his glasses. He then calmly responded,

"You see master, according to Veyr's data, There is a new perpetual source of energy."

Mimir wasn't surprised at all. He looked at Gabriel unimpressed,

"Huhhh(sigh)...Gabriell,If I had an Asgardian silver for every new star discovered in the universe, I'd be Odin himself now."

Gabriel was still confident. He stepped to the right revealing Gauge standing behind him,

"Then I introduce you to your new Asgardian silver, Mordan Gauge."

Mimir felt as if Rafter dropped a few feet. He looked at Gabriel and Gauge, back and forth. Astounded he replied,

"IMPOSSIBLE!!! A living perpetual? We are not in the Primordial era anymore, Gabriel."

Gabriel looked at Gauge. He instructed him with a calm demeanor,

"Show him kid."

Var and Gauge repeat the flame trick. The White Flames is set ablaze.

Mimir looks at it with such awe. The light from the flames reflected off his powerful eyes. He was mesmerized for a moment--- He suddenly snapped,

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! QUICK SET THE FLAMES OFF!!"

Mimir had to say no more. The fuel from Var's blood was depleted and the flames went off. Mimir gave off a sigh of relief. Gabriel was concerned,

"What happened? I've never seen you like this..."

Mimir held him by his Collar and screamed

"Of all the things you brought to me, this is the worst one Gabriel. You've outdone yourself(He lets Gabriel free. Looks at Gauge.) You(Points his finger at Gauge) Never light those flames so carelessly."

Gauge couldn't understand what Mimir was talking about. Yet he nodded his head, quick and rapid. Mimir walks back to his chair. He sat down and asked Gabriel,

"So, what would you have me do with him."

Gabriel adjusted his collars and answered,

"We hoped you could help us find more about Gauge."

Mimir rubs his forehead,

"I knew it, you want me to be your librarian.....again! huh....Either way, If that thing is what I think it is, then leaving undestined is dangerous. We must give it a purpose.(He looks at Gauge and sighs once more) I'll be your damn librarian one more time Gabriel...."

Gauge steps forward. Curiously, he asked,

"What do you think my flames are kind sir?"

Mimir stood up, removed his coat and responded,

"I am Mimir - God of Knowledge. I am not a mere information trader. An information becomes knowledge, only when it is true. And for any information to become knowledge, research is the key

(Mimir extends his hands. His eyes glow purple - rays lighting up the room.)

Give me a drop of your blood young man."

Gauge was hesitant. He had never lacerated himself before. Feryx noticed his hesitation. She motivated him,

"Just place me against your palms, I'll help you."

Gauge responds,

"What if lose a lot of blood?"

Var was irritated. He rushed towards him - seized feryx, Plunged it into his arm.

Blood droplets splattered on the floor-------- as they rebound, they start floating. Mimir manipulates the blood. He forms thin strands of gold from the blood. The Gleaming thread, rushed into the endless extent of the library.

Everyone looks at the direction the strands arrowed through. Moments later the strands returned------with two scrolls. One golden and one silver.

Mimir's eyes stop glowing A golden scroll? It is rarely a good omen... He thought to himself. He passed the scrolls to Gauge,

"Only you can open these scrolls young man. Feel free to read the contents."

Gauge was excited now. He charged at the Golden scroll and grabbed it-----------*fwooosssshhh* The scroll was set on flames. Everyone including Mimir was shocked. Mimir remarked,

"A forbidden scroll? The day couldn't get any worse."

The embers of the burnt scroll ascend up into the air. They form a series of letters and arrange themselves into a message. It read,

Seek higher scrolls

Gabriel was startled. He removed his glasses and exclaimed,

"A scroll higher than a gold grade? How is that even possible? Is this young kid really that dangerous?"

Mimir closed his eyes and answered,

"I knew it, the boy has inherited the Flames of creation."

Var interrupted them. Both of them look at Var,

"If you both have finished being shocked, why don't y....wait flames of creation? The mythical flame said to be the origin of the universe?"

Mimir took a moment to catch his breath. He answered,

"Technically there were two flames. Flames of destruction to erase anti-matter, Flames of Living to filled the space with matter."

Xerxes was intrigued by this. Some of part of his consciousness returned,

"How does such a powerful flame recide in a mere mortal. He must not be able withstand it's potential. Even if so, How does it make the young warrior, dangerous?"

Sounds of quills writing filled the room. Gabriel walked up to Gauge and gang. He explained,

"To understand that, you'll need to a little about prophecies. Prophecies are of many grades

Bronze scrolls - Fate of a local Area like a city.

silver scroll - Fate of a small planet.

Gold scrolls - Fate of a large planet to a system.

But if as the burned prophecy mentioned, There is a higher scroll, that means the fate of universe is involved."

Gauge looked at his own arms. He murmured to himself,

"So I am a monster, who am I kidding."

Gabriel realized what Gauge might have felt. He urged,

"Relax,it doesn't often involve a threat. Besides you have another scroll to read, might be something good this time."

Gauge hesitantly reached for the second scroll. Nothing changed when he touched the scroll. Everyone was relieved. But once Gauge tried to open it, A shield shaped seal locked down the scroll tight.

Var was now annoyed. He yelled,

"Another stupid useless scroll."

Mimir noticed the seal on the scroll. He got walked closer and responded,

"Not necessarily. Unlike the previous seal, this isn't a forbidden type seal but a protection type seal. We can locate the caster of this seal, If we can reach my lab in Orryphis.

Upon hearing this name, Gauge and Var look at each other.
