(Previous chapter - Gabriel sends Aero and Champion into the Anti-soul prism, Offers the remaining to show them his prototypes.)
Gabriel looked at Xerxes,
"Hey big guy, could you please give it an attempt."
Xerxes ascended up the platform. A pale blue sheet of light scanned Xerxes. Veyr's electronic voice rings,
"Scan complete. Displaying results now."
Species : Noctivitis/ Seekers of evil.
Planet : Xerith.
Rank : Supreme god (cracked)
Ziphers : 25,000 units
Ability : Evil sensing, Teleportation.
Gabriel analyzed the test. The others were intrigued. The scientist spoke,
"Hmmm....according to the results, This man belongs to race of people who can sense evil, The 'Noctivis'. He is a god of the planet, Xerith. But only a fragment of his soul remains. He must be the Infamous judge of the universe! I was killed by a judge, even though I did not commit a crime. Even if still a fragment, his power level is about 25,000 ziphers."
He looked at Xerxes with cynical eyes. Gabriel was always a serious man. His years of research deprived him of his sense of humour.
Gauge was silent. Feryx responded,
"What are Ziphers?"
Gabriel adjusted his glasses and responded,
"Well Ziphers are like energy reserves in our body. Many cultures and species have different names for their energy reserve. Chakra, Haki, Ki are some of the common terms used across the universe. Zipher is like a common term to refer them."
Var looks at Gauge,
"Kid this is your chance! Climb on the platform. We might find out who you actually are..."
Gauge was hesitant. Var looked at him, concerned. He is never like this, the Gauge I know? he would be the first one to jump on the platform. Gauge was looking beneath at his feet, worried. Var bends down to see his face,
"Hey what's wrong kid? you'd be the one most excited for these things."
Gauge looked at him, his voice stuttered for the first since they both met.
"I don't know.....What if I am a monster like the people of Azoria claim?"
Var lifted his chin up,
"So what? one species' monster is a comrade to others. If you are not a human, we'll find your people. I promise(still looks at him worried)Okay, I'll step in first, it isn't that hard."
Var ascends up the platform. Veyr scans and displays the results.
Species : Vampire
Planet : Nytherra
Rank : Immortal
Ziphers : 11,000 units(latent)
Ability : Blood Manipulation.
Var got down from platform and encouraged Gauge,
"See? It's that simple.....You find out what species you are and we can find your kind. Possibly even your parents!"
Gauge felt a bit relieved. He looked up at Var, Nodded at him confidently and walked up to the platform chanting,
"Okay, let's do this!"
Veyr scans *zwmmmm* a moment of processing,
"Results obtained with errors. Displaying now."
Species : ?????
Planet : ?????
Rank : Mortal.
Ziphers : 25,500 units.
Ability : ????
Upon visualizing the results everyone was silent. Gabriel thought to himself Hmm.... Who is this kid? Despite being a mortal rank, his zipher levels exceed Xerxes' as he is now. He spoke out,
"Seems like you don't come under the library of species in Veyr's database. To think Veyr with information of millions of species across the universe, doesn't have any information about you is concerning. Can you perhaps show her your abilities...?"
Gauge looked at both of his palms,
"Well I don't think I can go all out, like I did in the arena. But I'll try.(Deep breath...)"
*KRRR* His skins cracks. The channels in his body filled with glowing white magma. Vapours arising from his body. *Bzzzzk* The entire system glitched.
Reee*ZZZZZZ*sults obta*ZZZ*ined with Erro.....Dis*ZZZZ*playing,
Species : ?????
Planet : ?????
Rank : Perpetual.
Ziphers :73827649839E
Abilities : ????
And the entire system powered down leaving them in the dark. Even the calm and composed Gabriel was shocked. Gauge was startled a bit,
"So what does that mean?"
Gabriel scratched his head a little. He answered,
"Uhhhh... I must say, I myself have never seen a perpetual living being. Last time I measured one was the Asterion prime star, during the testing phase of this. I think we need more than just scanning to find out who you are. At this point, leaving a perpetual energy source unidentified might not be a good idea."
Var stepped forward and asked him,
"So what you suggest we do?"
Gabriel removed his glasses off and responded,
"Well there is a man above me. If he doesn't know, then nobody will. Follow me."
The entire gang walks up to a door. A large door (Small in comparison to the main door.) Door surging with nanites. Blue microparticles surfing like tides over the entire door. Gabriel prompts Veyr,
"Veyr, open door to chamber of prophecies."
The nanites unveiled and the passage ahead opened. A staircase is revealed. As they walk down the passageway, Gauge asks eagerly,
"So your mentor, how smart is he? Would he know more about me?"
Gabriel smiles at his enthusiasm. Normally Gabriel wouldn't be amused. But something about Gauge always makes anyone smile regardless. He answers,
"I can't guarantee you anything, But he is the god of wisdom. That should be promising, won't it?" He winks a little. Gauge's eyes sparkle.
Var notices how Gabriel changed his attitude towards Gauge. He thought Now that I think about it, I too am not much of a friendly guy. But something about this kid changes people's way of viewing things. Even Xerxes, soulless as he is, is not immune to his charms.
They reached the bottom of the staircase. At the base they found an ancient library. Array of scrolls have been arranged to a seemingly an Infinite extent. Gabriel exclaims,
"Welcome to the chamber of prophecies. Where any and every data sent from the Moon of Orryphis is documented as scrolls. Although the transmission hasn't been good lately due to unknown reasons."
Xerxes looks at Var, concerned. He bent close to him and whispered,
"Do they not know about the tyrant of Lucius. Should we tell them?"
Var without removing gaze from Gabriel, Responded,
"These are seemingly powerful people. If Lucius chose not to depend on their help, then there must be a reason for it. We do not know the full picture."
Xerxes agrees by nodding his head. He was astounded by Var's insight. As they continued deep into the archives, they saw a big hall filled with rafterians behind desks. They were using quills to write different prophecies. Though the hall was big, Only a handful of people were working on the scrolls.
Ahead of all the desks was a grand desk. Behind the desk sat a majestic figure. He wore an elegant blazer. He had long hair split midway. His hair was grey with gold tint. His eyes sparkling like a puddle of water. On the desk was a nameboard,
Mimir : God of wisdom
Mimir notices the visitors and Gabriel along with them. He grinned and spoke out, his voice same as that of yggdrasil resonated from all directions,
"Welcome my worst student, what problems have you brought me today?"
Gabriel smiled on the sight if his cold mentor. He responded,
"Only a big one."
