The main body of the Drant forest proper, which was solely characterized by it's strangely shaped trees and it's ever present mist, was a vast, sprawling one which was spread across many dozen kilometers .
Being the insidious forest that it was , it appeared still at and eireely quiet at it's surface level. Yet it's root network spread virulently underground penetrating solid, hard rock formations ,and, like an unnoticed deadly viral infection, it invaded forestlands , shrub lands, woodlands and almost every where plant life could be found, planting it's Pioneer trees and it's characteristic white mist in them. These Pioneer trees then served as parent trees propagating at a virulent speed and gradually pushing out the plant lives that were native to the regions they were planted in, further expanding outwards before connecting to Drant forest proper after having taken over the plant life site they had invaded, further expanding the reaches of the Drant forest forest. Thus, the forest ,in it's entirety and as a concept, covered more area than was initially apparent to the eye.
'Today', however, that trend was being reversed. It started with the Ploneer trees with which the Drant forest had infected other forest lands bush lands and shrub lands found in the genesis remnant mountain cluster reversing in growth before disappearing underground to rejoin the root networks from which they had grown, with the root network also growing in reverse,retreating inwards towards the main body of the Drant forest and dragging along their accompanying ,ever present ,sparsely spread white mist with them. Then, from it's outskirts to it's innermost parts, the pioneer trees found in the Drant forest proper followed suit.
The trees that were propagated from the pioneer trees however, remained untouched.
One of the towering Pioneer trees that was not so far from the forest outskirts one one side of the sluggishly flowing Aldom river remained standing and even began to grow at an outstanding speed as if in defiance to the phenomenon affecting the other Pioneer trees.
Under the massive boughs of this tree, on one of it's roots, lied a dark skinned,young male Elt who wore a loin cloth only and had many grievous, almost fatal injuries all over his body. Then , as if in tandem with the sudden, rapid growth of the tree under which he was , the injuries on his body began to heal at a very visible speed. After a while, the Elt's skin became smooth and spotless as the injuries he had seemed to have disappeared into oblivion .
" Ha....ha..... Achoooo!"
Mike sneezed back into consciousness.
" Huh?! How did get back to this haunted place." He wondered.
Then, as the memory of everything, beginning from the start of his unfortunately nearly lethal hunt up to the time he was slammed into the stem of the tree that was his spawn point , slammed into his mind like a freight train at full speed . Consequently , he froze ....
Then, with a previously unmatched speed, he bolted up into an upright position and frantically began to check his body for the injuries. He double checked and triple checked his body but found nothing, not even the smallest scratch. After checking himself multiple times more and obtaining the same result, he began to doubt the veracity of the memory he just recalled, the very same way a person who had previously lost all of their limbs to an unfortunate incident and who slept and woke up to discover himself still possessing four functional limbs would do.
" Strange. Was that a dream? No it can't be .That experience was too real, too vivid not to be real. Or does a creature with the capability of altering and totally replacing one's memories while also affecting their perception of reality exist in this haunted place? But how did I get here first of all...."
Just as he was spiralling deeper and deeper in his thought process, a disembodied, emotionless voice that seemed to be every where , yet no where at the same time , one he had not heard from in a long while spoke;
<< You have completed your Spawn Point quest.....>>
