Chapter 98 - Nick Fury's Shock, Three Beauties Hanging Out With Cassius?!

"Wanda, a bald guy's here for you."

Cassius turned back to the breakfast table with a bored expression. He figured this bald-headed guy must have another mission for Wanda. Why else would he show up here? They had only been relaxing for a day or two, and this man had already come to their doorstep.

Upon hearing that, Nick Fury's mouth twitched. He was the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., so how could someone call him that? He looked at the retreating Cassius, his mind filled with unspoken complaints.

"A bald guy's here for me?" Wanda stood up and walked toward the door, muttering to herself. Where did a bald guy come from? Could it be a fan who had found her?

"It's me," Nick Fury said, his face even darker than usual.

"Director?!" Wanda was shocked to see Nick Fury here, and that Agent Hill was with him.

"Long time no see, Wanda," Nick Fury said with a smile.

"Come inside," Wanda invited the two into the living room. She knew that if they had come all this way to find her, it must be something confidential.

As soon as he entered, Nick Fury froze. He saw Gwen and Lorna. S.H.I.E.L.D. had files on both of them, so he remembered them clearly. But he never expected them to be here together.

One was a mutant that Hydra had imprisoned, and the other was Ghost-Spider. He couldn't understand why these two would be together, much less with the man who opened the door for him. And it looked like they were all good friends.

Including Wanda, there were three superpowered individuals in this house. He couldn't help but look at Cassius again, wondering why three powerful people were hanging out with a normal guy.

At the same time, everyone had just finished their breakfast. After they sat down on the sofa, Wanda immediately introduced Cassius and the others.

"This is my good friend, Cassius. Gwen is my friend, and this is my sister, Lorna!" The reason she introduced them was to show Nick Fury how close they were. Otherwise, she would have had to go somewhere else to talk. After all, a lot of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files were highly confidential.

"Hello," Nick Fury simply greeted them. Since they were all Wanda's friends, he didn't care too much.

"Director, why have you come to see me?" Wanda saw the serious look on Nick Fury's face and asked directly. She wouldn't believe for a second that he had come all this way without something important to discuss. Besides, Agent Hill was also here.

"Hill." Nick Fury looked at Hill with a serious expression, straightening his back.

Hill nodded slightly and took out a tablet and a stack of documents from her briefcase. The screen displayed a strange scene. Some cultists were gathered in a circle, chanting some obscure syllables. The video was shot in a dark place, so they couldn't see much. After a flash, the screen turned black.

"What's going on?" Wanda frowned, looking at the strange ritual. No matter how she looked at it, something was off. Even though it was through a screen, it felt incredibly evil to her. It even looked like the symbols drawn on the ground were made of blood.

"We've recently been investigating some cultists performing a ritual related to a supernatural event, which has led to a number of disappearances," Hill said as she took out the documents from the briefcase and handed them to Wanda.

Wanda opened the documents and looked through them. Her expression became more and more serious. The list was full of missing people. And there were a lot of them, a thick stack of papers.

"We came here hoping you could help us solve this case," Nick Fury explained his purpose.

This matter was too strange. They couldn't even find many clues. Although they had a video, the content they managed to capture was too little. It was as if the other party could sense the camera and easily avoided their surveillance. That was why they had to come find Wanda for help.

The reason they didn't look for other Avengers was because this was too strange. Having someone with magical abilities would be better, which was why they chose Wanda.

At the same time, Cassius thoughtfully stroked his chin as he looked at Nick Fury and Hill. Yelena had come to handle a mission yesterday, and she had also mentioned that it seemed to be a paranormal event. This meant that Yelena was also here to investigate this matter!

"I..." Wanda hesitated. If this was before, she would have agreed without a second thought. But she had just spent some time with Cassius, and she hadn't even had a good rest before being sent on a mission again. She was a little reluctant.

"I know you finally get to relax, but we really need your help now," Nick Fury pleaded sincerely. "Although some of the other Avengers are free, their powers and magic are not as strong as yours. And some of them are also busy, so they can't get away."

This time, it wasn't a matter that could be solved by technology or brute force. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come to find Wanda.

"..." Wanda hesitated for a long time, and finally sighed and agreed. "I can go with you, but I have to bring Cassius!"

There was no way she would go without Cassius. If she wasn't with him, he might end up fooling around. Even with Gwen watching him, it wouldn't be enough. The girl was too kindhearted. Maybe Cassius would be able to sweet-talk her.

Besides, the cultists sounded like they were related to magic, so it was perfect to bring Cassius along. After all, Cassius was a great Sorcerer. Although she also knew a lot of magic, she was not on the same level as Cassius. If they could finish the mission quickly, they could rest sooner.

"Bring him?" Nick Fury looked at Cassius, frowning. "Is that really a good idea? It might make the mission more difficult."

In his eyes, this ordinary person was just a burden. Even if he had some decent fighting skills, they would be useless in this kind of situation. And Wanda might even be distracted trying to protect this ordinary person.

"If you don't bring Cassius, I won't accept this mission. You can find someone else!" Wanda's tone even had a hint of anger. She knew that Nick Fury saw Cassius as a burden. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said something like that. Cassius was the most important person in her heart right now, and she would not allow anyone to look down on him!

Nick Fury never expected Wanda to react so strongly. He had to take a deep breath to calm his voice. "Fine... Have it your way."

Nick Fury had no choice. If Wanda really walked out, he would have no other options. He knew that he couldn't solve this mess himself. So they could only put their hope in Wanda.

"We'll meet tonight then," Nick Fury didn't stay any longer. The reason they weren't leaving right away was because these cultists only appeared at night. So they could only find clues at night.

"Okay!" Wanda agreed.

Just as Nick Fury was about to leave, he seemed to remember something and turned around. "Put the vacation aside for now and be prepared!"

These cultists were much more sinister than they had imagined. So they had to carefully analyze the documents they had given her.

Wanda casually agreed.

After getting into the black SUV outside, Nick Fury turned to Hill. "How did it go?"

"I've already looked up the information on this Cassius in our database. His file is quite impressive. He's tried a lot of extreme sports and has won many awards. Not only that, he's a very generous philanthropist and also a major shareholder of Stark Industries. Besides that, he has many other titles. In a way, he can be considered a genius," Hill said, looking at the information on the tablet.

"But no matter how impressive he is, he's still just an ordinary person," Nick Fury said, not taking Cassius seriously. Although people like him were rare, they did exist. And compared to the people in the Avengers, this was nothing. Even Hill could easily deal with an ordinary person like him.

"Should we take any precautions?" Hill hesitated before asking. After all, from Wanda's attitude just now, this person was quite important to her.

"Find someone to watch him," Nick Fury said casually, waving his hand. All he had to do was make sure this guy didn't get into any trouble.

Inside the villa, "My cute little witch is truly beautiful and kind-hearted, still thinking about the mission at a time like this," Cassius said, wrapping his arms around Wanda from behind, his voice teasing. He exhaled near her ear.

"Stop teasing me. It's not funny!" Wanda turned her head, pouting and complaining.

"Of course it is. I still like a witch with a strong sense of justice. It's very charming," Cassius said, kissing Wanda deeply.

He didn't mind the mission. There weren't many beings in the Nine Realms who could truly threaten him. In his opinion, Wanda's mission was also a part of their vacation. It was all for fun, and he might even be able to teach Wanda some experience and techniques.

Although Wanda was already very powerful, there were still too many people more powerful than her. What's more, Wanda's Chaos Magic couldn't be trained with just practice. She needed real combat experience, and he could protect her.

"Really?" Wanda's face was filled with joy. She felt guilty that she couldn't spend more time with Cassius.

"Of course. It's to protect others!" Cassius answered with a serious expression. Although he was lazy, he never thought about protecting the Earth. But this world needed a group of people like that.

He might not do it, but he would never mock or ridicule those who did. Because there were always people silently putting in effort.

"Wanda, I want to go too," Gwen said, looking unhappy and coming closer. She had thought Wanda would bring her along. But she never expected her to not even suggest it.

"Gwen, it's not that I don't want to bring you. But there are too many of us. I don't know if I can take care of everyone. When it comes to magic, the two of you won't be very familiar with it," Wanda said.

"But I want to go! I promise I won't be a burden!" Gwen pleaded with Wanda and looked at Cassius pitifully. "I promise I'll listen and nothing bad will happen!"

"Wanda, why don't you bring them? They'll be bored at home anyway," Cassius said, looking at Wanda with hesitation. He wasn't familiar with Nick Fury, so it was up to Wanda to decide. Seeing Gwen and Lorna's pleading faces, Wanda finally sighed and nodded.

"Yay!" Gwen and Lorna cheered when Wanda agreed.

"It's still a while until evening. How about we play some board games?" Cassius suggested that they play a game. There were four of them, which was perfect. Playing board games wasn't that fun. But playing board games with three beautiful women was a whole other story.

The winner would get a reward, and the losers would get a punishment. And Cassius almost always won. They played all morning.

In the afternoon, they went to the most famous restaurant in Westview. Then they went to the peach orchard to play. They took a lot of pictures. With Gwen and Lorna being so cheerful, Wanda almost forgot about the mission.

Until evening, as night fell, Nick Fury and Hill arrived at the designated alley with a few agents. Nick Fury looked at his watch, but the others hadn't arrived yet.

"Did something happen?" After all, when they arrived, the cultists might have noticed them. Just as Nick Fury was hesitating whether to have Hill call Wanda, he heard Wanda's voice in the distance.

"Director Fury." At the end of the alley, four figures were walking toward them. Nick Fury saw Wanda and was about to scold her for being late when he saw the other three figures. His already dark face became even darker.

"Wanda, what's going on? Why are they all here?" Nick Fury gritted his teeth, asking each word. They didn't have enough people to look after them. This was clearly bringing a bunch of burdens. Gwen was barely acceptable, but Cassius and Lorna's fighting power was practically zero.

"Director, I wanted to bring them with me!" Wanda took a deep breath and stood her ground. She had already agreed.

"Wanda, what you're doing..." Nick Fury was about to scold her, but he looked at the time and sighed. "Fine, just have them be careful!"

There wasn't enough time to argue with Wanda about these trivial matters. If something happened, it would just be their bad luck!

"By the way, did you look at the documents today?" Nick Fury asked about the matter. After all, the documents contained information about the mission.

"Oh... I was out playing today..." Wanda said instinctively.

Nick Fury was stunned. "You were out playing all day?" Hearing that, he almost exploded.

"Director, the mission is important!" Hill quickly tried to calm Nick Fury down. At the same time, she explained the mission. "We detected an energy fluctuation at the Skrulls' home last night, so we have to go there to stake out tonight!"

Because there were a lot of people, they split into three cars. In the car, Nick Fury said to Hill with a serious expression, "Make sure you watch that guy named Cassius tonight!"

Wanda was very special. So, he absolutely could not let anything happen to that guy!
