Chapter 93 - A Three-Person Night Operation, The Suit That Night Was Gwen's!

In the courtyard, Gwen lay on the ground, groaning softly, her suit covered in dust. Even the headpiece had a crack in it. It was clear she had been in a fight.

"Gwen!" Cassius rushed over and scooped her up. Wanda hurried behind him as he carried Gwen into a guest room. After carefully placing her on the bed, Cassius gently removed her mask.

The pain had soaked her hair in sweat, and her face was a mask of agony. Her body was twitching slightly, and her fair skin was covered in bruises.

"Damn it! Who did this?!" Cassius's forehead was throbbing as he saw this. He had never expected someone to lay a hand on Gwen. Her injuries were severe. Based on his scan, even her internal organs had suffered a lot of damage. It was only thanks to her sheer willpower that Gwen was able to make it here. Without it, she probably would have collapsed halfway.

"She looks like she's in so much pain!" Wanda gnashed her teeth, feeling a pang of sympathy. The attacker had been incredibly ruthless; otherwise, with Gwen's skills, she shouldn't have been so severely hurt.

Cassius placed his hand on Gwen's, and the Horse Talisman on his right hand began to glow. Green energy continuously flowed into Gwen's body through their physical contact. As the energy from the Horse Talisman poured in, Gwen's injuries began to heal at an incredible speed. The painful expression on her face was also beginning to relax.

"Lorna, get her a glass of water," Wanda said, turning to Lorna.

Although Wanda had a lot of questions, she knew now wasn't the time. She didn't know what had happened to this young girl. How could someone with such great skills get so badly hurt?

As the energy healed Gwen's injuries, she suddenly opened her eyes, which were filled with fear. The moment she saw Cassius, the fear and wariness in her eyes instantly vanished.

"Cassius!" Gwen threw herself into Cassius's arms, her eyes instantly turning red. Her voice trembled. The enemy she had encountered this time was far too terrifying. She had even thought she wouldn't make it back.

Wanda saw Gwen's actions, and the jealousy in her heart disappeared. After all, this was just a pitiful young girl. She at least had partners in the Avengers, but little Gwen had been protecting the public by herself.

"It's okay, it's okay," Cassius gently patted Gwen's back to comfort her. He could tell that Gwen was utterly terrified.

"I thought I wouldn't make it back!" Gwen's small, high-bridged nose was twitching as she sobbed. She had truly believed she was about to die. In her last moments of consciousness, she had desperately made her way here. Thankfully, she made it in time.

"What exactly happened?" Cassius asked after comforting Gwen for a while. Since someone dared to harm Gwen, he wasn't going to let them get away with it. But for now, the most important thing was to figure out what had happened.

"I've been investigating a guy with the code name Vulture. I found a lead after school this afternoon, but I was ambushed while following him." Gwen's eyes were red as she explained everything she knew.

The enemy's power wasn't great in a head-on fight, but he could fly. On top of that, he had a lot of different weapons that made it difficult for her to deal with him. If he hadn't made a mistake in the end, she would have died.

"Vulture?" Cassius was stunned when he heard the name. Although this world was very different from what he had imagined, he never thought he would encounter Vulture in this universe.

Vulture's real name was Adrian Toomes. He ran a salvage company in New York. The reason Cassius was so surprised was that Vulture was the father of Liz Toomes, the girl that Peter Parker had a crush on in other universes.

But this guy was also a pitiful person. He had exhausted his savings and finally got government authorization to salvage Chitauri alien junk. He planned to get rich by using this junk to create alien technology. But he never thought that Stark Industries would form the Department of Damage Control, which caused the government to unilaterally terminate his authorization and partnership.

Because of this, he was on the verge of bankruptcy and began to hate the Avengers while secretly hoarding the salvaged Chitauri junk.

He never thought that this guy would just happen to run into Gwen. While Gwen's skills were good, she was still no match for Vulture's suit. On top of that, Vulture's suit wasn't just for flying. It had many other uses. If he had fought Tony, he would have been thrashed. But Gwen was far too weak, which was why this had happened.

"Vulture, huh?" Wanda gnashed her teeth, her voice filled with anger. "Don't worry, I'll help you deal with this guy!"

While Gwen was her love rival, she had already moved past that. On top of that, she felt a lot of sympathy for this poor girl. After going back, she had specifically investigated Gwen's background and found out what she had gone through.

At such a young age, she had to bear so much pressure. She had to take care of her father while also fighting crime. It was far too much for a college student.

"You'll help?" Cassius was stunned. He hadn't expected Wanda to actively offer to help Gwen. After all, their relationship was a little special.

"You seem surprised?" Wanda put her hands on her hips, her full chest thrusting forward. "I'm not that petty. I can separate the two. Helping Gwen doesn't mean I want to sleep in the same bed as her!"

She wasn't stupid. After connecting the dots, she had guessed that Gwen was Ghost-Spider. And after they had fought the Minotaur, the two of them must have had a rendezvous. Just thinking about it made her angry, but she wasn't going to blame Gwen for it. In her mind, Cassius was a restless playboy.

"Haha." Cassius awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Gwen, you haven't eaten yet, have you?" He didn't want to continue this conversation.

"Nope. I want to eat steak!" Since Gwen had recovered, she quickly forgot what had just happened when she heard him say that. In front of Cassius, she was like a child. And there was something else... she didn't know how to face Wanda.

She had thought about facing her true feelings in the park, but she had run into Hela, so she hadn't said anything in the end. Now, while she wanted to say it, Wanda was right there, so she couldn't bring herself to say anything.

"Okay, I'll make it for you." Cassius wanted to reach out and rub Gwen's head with a smile, but he noticed Wanda next to him and awkwardly pulled his hand back.

Steak was an easy meal to make. In just a few minutes, he had placed it in front of Gwen.

"Phew~ I'm so full." Gwen's eyes were smiling so much they were almost closed. She had been craving Cassius's cooking for a while. But she had been so busy with school and fighting crime that she hadn't had the time. Today, she was finally able to enjoy Cassius's cooking.

"Go take a shower after you're done eating," Wanda said with a smile. Gwen's suit was covered in dust. On top of that, it must have been uncomfortable wearing such a tight suit for so long.

"Okay!" Gwen's mouth curved up, and she agreed without hesitation. She felt stifled, and she had also sweat a lot during the fight.

As for the suit, after Gwen changed out of it, Wanda picked it up and walked to the laundry room downstairs. She planned to wash it and see if there were any rips so she could ask the maid to help sew it up.

"Wait!" As Wanda was about to put Gwen's suit into the washing machine, her eyes suddenly noticed something was wrong. The crotch area had been mended. In an instant, her mind went back to that night.

"Could it be... there's no way..." Her face froze. She carefully lifted a corner of the fabric. Although the same colored thread was used to mend it, if she looked closely, she could still see the stitches. The tear was in the exact same spot as it was the night she was with Cassius!

This meant that the last time she... In that instant, Wanda's face flushed. She had never thought that this would be the case.

"Cassius!!!" Wanda took a deep breath, her voice as if she were squeezing it out of her throat. She had never, in a million years, thought this would be the case. Now, she finally understood why Cassius had acted as if he were on adrenaline that night. This was Gwen's suit. This damn guy had accidentally mixed it in with her clothes!

"What's wrong?" Cassius was walking down the stairs and asked in confusion when he heard Wanda's suppressed voice. The next second, the expression on his face also froze. He could see the Spider-Man suit in Wanda's hands.

"My dear Mr. Cassius, could you explain what this suit is?" Wanda's smile was stiff as she came up to Cassius, shaking the suit.

"What do you mean? Haha, I think I forgot to have Imelda clean up the room." Cassius scratched the back of his head, forcing a smile as he tried to run away. But a second later, a stiff smile had appeared in front of him.

"Was that night..." Wanda lowered her head, revealing the stitches more clearly. "No wonder you were having so much fun."

She was both angry and embarrassed. Her face was bright red, and she could even see that the tips of her ears had turned pink. This wasn't just cosplay. He had made her put on a real suit! And now Gwen was wearing this same suit again. The feeling was making Wanda's expression even stranger.

"Um... well... about that..." Cassius stammered awkwardly, scratching the back of his head and unable to say anything.

The evidence was right in front of him. Who would have thought this would happen? And what he had not expected even more was that Gwen hadn't thrown the suit away. She had mended it and continued to wear it. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn't have given it back to her!

"So that was her suit that night. No wonder I couldn't find it." Wanda's voice was filled with anger. She could even hear her teeth grinding.

"Calm down. You're the one who picked it out. You even said it was great!" Cassius raised his hands, a smile he couldn't hold back on his face. "On top of that, weren't you having a great time?" He really couldn't hold it in. He couldn't even imagine how embarrassed Wanda was right now!

"Cassius!" Wanda reached out and pinched Cassius. "Don't say another word!" She couldn't imagine what would happen if Gwen found out about this. She wouldn't be able to face her.

"You can wear it again if you like!" Cassius immediately turned and ran! The two of them were chasing each other in the house.

Lorna was swinging her legs in the living room, watching the scene, and couldn't help but sigh. "Big Sister Wanda and Mr. Cassius have such a good relationship."

In the guest room, although Gwen's injuries had healed, the mental exhaustion caused her to sleep for several hours. When she woke up, she stumbled to the door. When she opened it, Wanda, who was sitting on the sofa, turned her head to look at her. The next second, Wanda's fair skin turned pink.

"What's wrong?" Gwen felt her face, examining herself. Why did Wanda look like that when she saw her?

"Nothing." Wanda shook her head frantically, looking nervous.

"Um, Cassius, I want to get revenge on Vulture!" Gwen came up to Cassius, gnashing her teeth. "Is my suit washed?" She couldn't just let him get away with it!

"Yes!" Cassius patted Wanda, who was sitting next to him, with a mischievous smile. "Wanda, the suit? Hurry and give it to Gwen!"

"I..." Wanda glared at Cassius with a fierce expression. She remembered what she had done while wearing the suit, and her face became incredibly awkward. "It's... it's ready."

She walked into the laundry room and took out the suit. When she looked at a certain part of it, her heart started to beat faster. She had never thought that she would have done something so exciting without even realizing it.

"What's wrong?" Gwen looked at Wanda with a confused expression. She felt that Wanda was stammering.

"How about you wear a different suit?" Wanda took a deep breath, and her voice even had a hint of a plea in it. After all, she had worn this suit before... On top of that, just thinking about it made her feel incredibly awkward and uncomfortable.

Although a long time had passed, every time she saw it, it reminded her of that night. And on top of that, the person who had been with her that night was beside her. Her face was bright red.

"No thanks. This one is fine." Gwen rejected Wanda's generous offer. She sniffed the suit. "Huh, Mr. Cassius, did you stop using the Heather-scented laundry detergent?"

"Cough, cough, cough..." Cassius, who was drinking coffee, turned red and started coughing violently. Behind him, Wanda lowered her head and viciously pinched Cassius's waist.

That damn Cassius! That guy was a total pervert! If she had known it was Gwen's suit, she would have never worn it! He had even tricked her into thinking it was a cosplay suit! He had done this on purpose!

"Gwen, where are we going?" Cassius forced himself to stop laughing and waited for Gwen to put on the suit before preparing to leave.

"The lead I found is at a warehouse called Grantful in Queens!" So this time, Queens would be the one to suffer instead of Manhattan. Cassius nodded casually and drew a circle with his right hand. As a golden light appeared, an Inter-Dimensional Portal opened. On the other side, a warehouse appeared.

"Yes! It's here!" Gwen gnashed her teeth and walked through the Inter-Dimensional Portal.

Cassius stretched lazily and said nonchalantly, "Then let's get this mission started!"
