Chapter 36 - Doctor Strange Arrives. This Guy Is Dating the Scarlet Witch?!

"So it's Stephen. Imelda told me a magician was here earlier, and I was wondering who it could be."

In the waiting room, Cassius lit a cigarette and looked at Stephen, who was sitting across from him, with a surprised expression. He genuinely didn't expect Stephen to come here looking for him.

"Have you ever seen a magician from a circus as handsome and gentlemanly as me?" Stephen leaned back in his chair, speaking with a hint of displeasure. This guy's words always managed to annoy him.

"No, but your outfit isn't very common." Cassius looked at the floating cloak behind him and teased.

"This is my exclusive attire, of course it's not common!" Stephen took a deep breath, his voice sounding like it was squeezed through his teeth. He couldn't believe how irritating this guy's words were. He even suspected that Cassius was deliberately trying to provoke him. If he weren't trying to maintain his gentlemanly demeanor, he probably would have already started a fight.

"Stephen, be quiet!" Wong, looking serious, interrupted Stephen. "We're here on important business!"

Stephen shut his mouth awkwardly. They were indeed here for a serious matter.

"You wouldn't be here without a reason. So, what's up?" Cassius knew that these two would never come here for no reason.

"Have you ever heard of Nightmare?" Stephen took a deep breath, his expression becoming serious.

"Nightmare?" Cassius frowned slightly. "You mean the demon that feeds on dreams?"

Nightmare was a demon of unknown origin that could drag sleeping beings into a nightmare to torment them. Once inside a nightmare, Nightmare was almost omnipotent. The demon was also an expert in magic. When a person was awake, Nightmare would send his minions to attack them.

An ordinary person would lose consciousness instantly against Nightmare. It was said that only gods and extremely powerful sorcerers could resist such an attack. What made Nightmare so terrifying was his ability to absorb the fears of others to become even more powerful.

"I'm surprised you know something about this. I thought you had no interest in magic!" Stephen couldn't help but interrupt, teasing Cassius.

"Wong, next time you come, can you bring someone a little quieter? This guy talks too much!" Cassius ignored Stephen and spread his hands, a helpless look on his face.

"..." Stephen was speechless. After taking a deep breath, he finally spoke. "We need your help with something." He realized that if he kept bickering with Cassius, he would never win. This guy seemed to be an expert in all kinds of annoying remarks, and he never even repeated himself.

"Help with what? What does it have to do with this Nightmare guy?" Cassius was also curious as to why two high-level sorcerers would need his help. Whatever it was, it couldn't be simple.

"We have a spell here that we need your help to decipher. Otherwise, we can't find Nightmare's disciple on the mortal plane!" Stephen straightened his back and opened his right hand as he spoke. A bag floated up out of thin air, and a parchment scroll slowly floated onto the table and unrolled itself. From its appearance, the scroll looked ancient. The yellowish parchment was covered in complex and strange runes.

"Find Nightmare's disciple?" Cassius knew that Nightmare couldn't directly manifest on Earth. He needed a mortal disciple as a medium. By getting rid of the disciple, Nightmare would lose the ability to directly interact with the mortal plane.

"We've been struggling with this spell for two days and two nights," Wong said, shifting his large body on the sofa and looking at the parchment. They had tried everything, but they couldn't decipher it. That's why he suddenly thought of Cassius, who had performed a miracle that day.

"I only found out about this spell this morning, but Wong insisted we come to you. Otherwise, I would have been able to figure it out myself," Stephen argued stubbornly. In reality, when he saw the spell, he knew how difficult it was. It would take him at least a few weeks to decipher it, as it involved too much. Even though it was just a small spell, it contained a vast amount of information.

"If you're not good enough, just practice more. If you can't handle it, don't play." Cassius glanced at Stephen with a look of disdain.

Buzz!

With a cigarette in his mouth, Cassius formed a hand seal, his expression serious as he stared at the spell on the table. With his top-tier talent, he understood the logic of the spell just by looking at it.

The next second, a massive magic circle appeared around them, and a deep black sigil rapidly spread across the floor. An eerie, terrifying power emanated from the circle, and a strange black gas rose into the air. In just a moment, it formed a black star map on the ceiling. The star map even showed a bright star, which clearly pointed the way.

"Done." Cassius took the cigarette out of his mouth and flicked the ash, as if he had just done a trivial thing.

?!!!

Stephen and Wong looked at each other, their eyes filled with disbelief. They thought it would take a long time, but it only took one glance! He deciphered it in just one glance?! What kind of monster was this?! The two of them were stunned and speechless for a long time.

"Get going!" Cassius waved his hand impatiently. "Don't waste my time enjoying life!"

Bang!

The two men stood outside the front door, bewildered by what had just happened.
