Chapter 44 - Chapter 43: The Seal of Hades

In Asgard, the tyrannical Hela opened the gates with a single swing of her sword. After thousands of years, this resplendent palace once again appeared before her eyes.

Above the entire sky of Asgard, black smoke from the underworld constantly gathered. Within the smoke, the troops that had crusaded against Hela thousands of years ago could be seen.

In the myths and legends of Asgard, Hela, as Odin's firstborn child, was given half of Asgard's divine power after assisting him in conquering the Nine Realms. Odin also promised Hela that after his lifespan was over, she would be the next God King of Asgard. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Odin discovered a prophecy.

According to the prophecy, he and his family would bring about Ragnarok. The great serpent Kur would uproot the World Tree, and Hela, the Goddess of Death, would deliver the final blow to the gods of Asgard.

Therefore, the legends of Asgard claim that after conquering the Nine Realms, Odin wished to rule with kindness and benevolence. However, his daughter refused to accept his new way and rebelled against Asgard. For the safety of the Nine Realms, God King Odin sent the elite Valkyrie Legion to conquer the Goddess of Death. The legion was almost completely wiped out by Hela, with all the Valkyries killed except for one who escaped. In the end, Odin was forced to banish Hela.

The legends say that Hela was sealed on Earth, but in truth, she was sealed in Hellheim.

"No!" Thor cried, falling to the ground unable to get up. The spear in Loki's hand was broken. With half of Asgard's immense divine power in her grasp, and Odin still asleep, no one could be Hela's opponent.

Finally, Hela broke into Asgard. Amidst the huge amounts of energy, even Queen Frigga could only keep her distance.

"Frigga..." Hela said, staring at the queen with disdain. "I heard that Odin was sealed by a powerful enemy thousands of years ago and has not woken from his deep sleep since."

Frigga backed away, trying to conjure magic to stop Hela. "Hela, he is your father!"

Hela frowned. The spider helmet on her head slowly disappeared, revealing her original appearance. "What? Odin doesn't seem to think so!"

Odin, who had been sleeping for a thousand years, was placed in the deepest chamber of Asgard. A god who fell from the sky thousands of years ago had sealed Odin without warning, and the God King had been unable to fight back.

Hela walked to Odin's side. He was still wearing his golden armor. No one had been able to change Odin's posture, not because they didn't want to, but because they couldn't get close to him. It had taken Asgard hundreds of years just to move Odin to this chamber.

"Odin, you're a mess right now," Hela said. A powerful killing intent was released from her body.

"Hela! That's your father!" Queen Frigga immediately stopped her, casting astral magic to try and halt her actions.

"Father?" Hela asked, with a look of great disdain. "He sent his Valkyrie legions to besiege me. He branded me a traitor across all of Asgard. He stripped me of my powers and banished me to the dark side of Hellheim."

The air in the room solidified. "Since then, I, Hela, have no father!" she declared.

With those words, the Night-sky sword, filled with the power of the Goddess of Death, shot from Hela's hand toward Odin's chest.

At that moment, the sleeping Odin's eyes suddenly opened, but only for an instant before he fell back asleep. However, the Night-sky sword stopped a centimeter from his chest with a sharp clang. A strange membrane had appeared between the sword and Odin, and on its surface, ancient and mysterious characters were engraved.

On Earth, in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan.

Minos was teaching Virla the characters of the underworld and various cultural norms of this world, helping her to familiarize herself with the rules of the underworld. Suddenly, he heard a strange exclamation from his master, Aaron. Minos turned his head and saw his master emerge from his studio.

"Master, why have you come out? It's not the weekend..." Minos asked.

Aaron narrowed his eyes and walked out of the gallery, holding and stroking his cat, Xiao Hei. "I remember now!" he said. "I remember beating a half-blind old man when I first came here. This man seems to be Odin!"

Eight-legged Pegasus, Odin with Gungnir! After this familiar image flashed through Aaron's mind, he smiled knowingly.

"Someone is attacking my seal. A thousand years have passed, and the seal seems to be about to dissipate..."
