Time flew by—another month passed.
The Moon God Shuttle drifted across the endless ocean, and though the four aboard were aimlessly drifting, they remained relaxed and content, alternating between cultivation and entertainment, never feeling bored.
Since leaving the Four Symbols Island, they had been heading northeast. The journey had been rather exciting. Though they had yet to encounter human civilization, they did witness many sea soul beasts not found on the Douluo Continent. For example, the hundred-thousand-year-old Starry Sky Flying Ray, with a body as dazzling as the night sky; the hundred-thousand-year-old Silver-Scaled White Whale King, even larger than the Purple-Gold Dijiu Ling; and the hundred-thousand-year-old Rainbow-Scaled Mermaid Emperor, with a humanoid upper body and a fish tail—each one a novelty.
One noon, a fishing boat appeared in front of the Moon God Shuttle—an unmistakable symbol of human civilization. Though its design differed from those found on the Douluo Continent, both Zhu Ziyang and the three girls instantly understood one thing: a fishing boat meant civilization!
There had to be human civilization in this sea!
"Brother, it really is a fishing boat!" Jiang Nannan exclaimed, grabbing Zhu Ziyang's arm in excitement. "Look, they're catching fish!"
"Ziyang, should we go over and ask them something?" Zhang Lexuan suggested.
"Sure," Zhu Ziyang nodded. Instinctively, he touched the other shore flower imprint on his forehead—no response. That dulled his joy slightly.
The Moon God Shuttle quickly approached the fishing vessel. The crew on the fishing boat grew alert—the design and structure of the Moon God Shuttle was unlike anything they'd ever seen. Faced with the unknown, humans naturally grew cautious.
"Stop right there! Or don't blame me for acting!" a middle-aged man flew off the fishing boat. Behind him floated three yellow, two purple, and one black soul ring—he was a Soul Emperor, clearly the captain of the boat.
Seeing the man initiate contact, Zhu Ziyang and the others halted the Moon God Shuttle and opened the cabin. Zhu Ziyang flew out and shouted, "Uncle, we're not bad people! We just lost our way. Can you tell us where the nearest port is?"
"Lost your way?" The Soul Emperor captain eyed him skeptically. Zhu Ziyang's aura told him this young man wasn't ordinary—likely a noble of some empire. Thinking it best to avoid trouble, the captain replied, "Head southeast from here, about a day's sail. You'll reach Violet Port, part of the Milan Empire."
"Is that so? Thanks, uncle!" Zhu Ziyang smiled cheerfully, though waves rippled in his heart. Then he returned to the Moon God Shuttle.
Under the captain's watchful gaze, the Moon God Shuttle slowly started up—then suddenly accelerated, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
"Good grief, what kind of ship is that? So big and still that fast? I wish I had one..." the captain muttered in awe.
Inside the Moon God Shuttle, the group of four began discussing the information they'd just learned. Zhu Ziyang said, "We're definitely in the waters of a continent now. The Milan Empire... seems like this place is quite developed."
"Their clothing is also very different from what we saw on the Douluo Continent," Zhang Lexuan added. "It suggests there's no cultural link between this land and Douluo."
"Brother, are we going to sail straight into that Violet Port? Wouldn't that draw too much attention?" Qian Lingyi asked.
"Of course not," Zhu Ziyang chuckled. "We'll locate the land first, then find an uninhabited beach to land. After all, we still don't know if this is the Eastern Continent we've been looking for."
Thanks to the Moon God Shuttle's speed, they didn't even need a full day. Soon, land came into view. And indeed, there was a bustling port—filled with traffic and commerce. If they entered directly, it would cause quite a stir. As outsiders, they didn't want that.
So, the Moon God Shuttle dove underwater and bypassed Violet Port. After some distance, they surfaced near a remote cliffside. Zhu Ziyang was the first to leap out and step onto the land.
The moment his feet touched the earth, the other shore flower mark on his forehead and a point deep in his spiritual sea both sent out pulses of information. He froze.
Two separate responses unfurled before his eyes.
The response from the flower mark was simple but thrilling—it confirmed that this continent was the Eastern Continent mentioned in the Death God's Seven Trials. It even transmitted the location of the Death God's Scythe: in a place called the Death Mountains.
But that wasn't what shocked Zhu Ziyang the most.
What truly caught his attention was the other signal—from the Dimensional Library in his spiritual sea! That library had been almost forgotten as he outgrew its use—until now. As soon as he stepped onto this new land, the library updated itself, opening a brand-new wing—filled with books from this very continent!
How could he tell? Because in the newly added section, he found titles like A History of the Milan Empire's Founding and Genealogy of the Violet Family.
Milan Empire. Violet. That was confirmation enough.
Zhu Ziyang was utterly astonished. His curiosity and interest in the Dimensional Library reignited. Its origins were clearly far from ordinary.
"Brother, why are you staring off into space?" Jiang Nannan's voice pulled him back. Her pretty face was filled with confusion as she looked at him.
"Nothing. I was just absorbing information about this new continent," Zhu Ziyang replied with a smile.
"This is the Eastern Continent, right?" the three girls exclaimed in unison.
"That's right," Zhu Ziyang nodded. With a thought, he pulled up an overview of the continent from the library and read aloud while studying it himself.
This continent was called the Martial Soul Continent. Like Douluo, it was home to a thriving soul master civilization. Its landmass was only one-tenth the size of the current Douluo Continent, but it was home to eight human nations. The most powerful were the Milan Empire and the Landias Empire, each controlling a third of the land. The other six nations shared the remaining third.
Due to the abundance of countries, conflict on the Martial Soul Continent was constant. Two major alliances had formed: the Northern Alliance, led by the Milan Empire and including the Ascali Kingdom, Fro Kingdom, and Arcadia Kingdom; and the Southern Alliance, led by the Landias Empire and including the Pompeii Kingdom, Bourbon Kingdom, and Mordo Kingdom.
The two sides had fought a century-long war followed by a millennium of tense standoff. Only in the last hundred years—due to the explosive rise in soul beast activity—had they begun to cooperate.
Hearing this, Zhang Lexuan, Jiang Nannan, and Qian Lingyi all fell into an uncomfortable silence. Wasn't this basically what the Douluo Continent was like ten thousand years ago? The only difference was that Douluo had the Spirit Hall to mediate power. The Martial Soul Continent had no such dominant neutral force—hence the more intense division.
Zhu Ziyang then shared what he had learned about the soul beast forces of this land. The continent had three major soul beast habitats: the Extreme North Wastes in the north, the Death Mountains in the center, and the Extreme Southern Desert. Among these, the Death Mountains were the largest and served as the boundary between the Milan and Landias Empires—and were the primary source of the beast tide.
The Death Mountains were vast and sprawling. There was a saying on the Martial Soul Continent: "All mountains come from the Dead." This wasn't a joke—it was fact. The range split the continent north and south, running east to west. Its eastern end was in the Pompeii Kingdom, its western tip in the Fro Kingdom. Any mountain range on this continent could ultimately be traced back to the Death Mountains.
Thus, the locals also referred to it as the Divine Mountain.
