The ravager ran through the hallway. Breathing in deeply, tracing and searching for the compelling scent.
Each turn it took, the scent grew concentrated. Kross found the scent unnerving as he was able to regain his consciousness which was very rare when the ravager took charge. He was able to tell what was going on even while in the back and also the pain was bearable.
There was something about that scent.
He saw the ravager stop at a certain door. Kross had not been to this side of the pack house. It was a secluded room and there was no way he'd know what room it was.
The ravager stood there for some minutes, probably contemplating or it got lost as Kross thought.
Suddenly with a thunderous growl, it tore the door open.

Lyra was still in the room. She heard some footsteps outside the door, thinking it was the warriors that had come to get her, she stood up. Ready to leave. Thanking heavens they had found her.
She pushed her sickly weakly body up, which was harder than she thought.
She took some steps approaching the door when she heard a loud growl.
She was dead. She knew it.
Whatever was on the other side of the door was not human. A wolf. She took some steps back, heart pounding so fast like on a running spree. She looked around if there was a place she could hide or best escape. That was a futile attempt. She was locked in the room for hours and didn't escape and now with danger in front of her she thought a miraculous exit would appear.
She was a runt, she didn't have a wolf which meant no means to protect herself.
Then, just like that, in an instant, the door, her only solace flew open. Not flew but was tore open.
"Aaaaah!" she screamed, her hands on her mouth trembling. She was so scared, if not that she hadn't drunk any water or ate any food she was sure she would have wet herself or worse shit on herself.
She couldn't move. The sight in front her was too scary.
The massive beast stood at the entrance, its pair of red eyes scanned her like a prey. Not blinking, following her every move.
Lyra gulped. She couldn't move, lest it pounced on her and tear her head from her body.
The beast took a step and got in the room. It's presence made the room feel super cramped immediately. Its size was twice maybe thrice the size of any wolf she had seen. The room was small to begin with.

Kross' last memory was the door being torn before the darkness swallowed him whole.
He had a bad feeling about that moment but he didn't stand a chance and he had to thank the scent as he normally is in blackout during the episodes and now he had seen something. He hoped the aftermath wasn't so bad.
He didn't remember anything that happened during his episodes and that's why his beta and gamma were always near him as a precaution method. Though they couldn't approach nor stop the beast, they could make people stir clear and therefore no one could get hurt or worse if the pack members see the massive cursed beast, which would be a problem.
The transformation process was too painful for Kross, and the scent made it bearable.
The door where the ravager stood, the scent was too potent. He was curious to find out what was releasing that spellbinding captivating scent.
With his curiosity, he didn't fight before he was cut off and blacked out.

Lyra stepped back.
The wolf took a step to the front.
They continued that until Lyra's back hit the wall. Lyra swallowed heavily. The beast was three steps from her. The room was dark to begin with and with the beast standing in front of her, it blocked every light from going in making the room darker. Only its red eyes were visible. They looked too horrifying in the dark.
The red eyes were the only sign of the black wolf. They kept coming closer and closer. Lyra petrified, for a moment she couldn't feel her feverish sick self, her fear overpowered it.
"Fuck!" someone cursed.
"Kross?" She thought she was hallucinating. Lyra was too invested in her own predicament that she failed to hear footsteps.
"Are you stupid. You think its Kross? As if he'll even answer."
"What genius idea do you have then Ryan?" The banter continued.
Noah and Ryan were going to check on Kross as it was full moon, they wanted to see if its true the curse was gone or...
On reaching the chamber, they were met with a broken door. They knew it was over. The ravager was back. They had to find it before all hell broke loose.
"Let's think." Ryan reasoned as there was no way they were going to fight that cursed beast twice their size. They had seen it fight, how it tore bodies of warriors let alone causing them to be insane. "We can just guard the door. Then after," he shrugged. "We just have to let him come back..."
"Kross!" Noah yelled loudly.
"Shut up!" Ryan's eyes widened as he raised his hands to block Noah's mouth, "I don't want to die, you know this cursed..."
Before Ryan could finish his whining, the beast turned in a swift motion. His red eyes fixed on them. The monster looked furious, his canines threatened to rip them apart, while his claws emerged. Ryan and Noah gulped. They were trained warriors but this wasn't their fight. Fighting a cursed beast who is also their alpha?
It wasn't until the beast moved the cold air hit her damp dress that Lyra realized her back was drenched in sweat. She hadn't even realized she was sweating that much, well who wouldn't.
The ravager growled.
"Help me!" Lyra called out, her voice too soft like she didn't want the attention from the beast. But it did garner its attention as it snapped and looked at her.
"Did you hear that?" Ryan leaned closer to Noah and asked in hushed tone.
Noah who was standing on the left side, "There is a girl there."
"This is bad." He whispered back, "What should we do?"
"We need to get her out there." Noah suggested before looking at Ryan's whose focus was on the wolf, "Try to draw its attention away then I will get the girl."
"Yes and..." His face went blank for one full second... then he screamed. "NO! That's choosing death."
As they were contemplating, The beast lunged forward and pounced on Lyra.
