Standing up back on his feet he quickly engulfed me in a hug, a warm hug.
All the nervousness I had been feeling when I entered in the restaurant had vanished, transferred into this beautiful feeling inside my heart.
Tears dripped from my eyes one by one, and when Luca broke the hug the first thing he did was, wiping those tears away.
"Hey don't cry! You are making me worry." His voice came out soft, just like the expressions on his face, filled with worry and love.
"I'm not liking it one bit, I'm hating it." Even though his words were soft, it had some roughness beneath it too, that I could feel.
I let out a chuckle at his words, wiping my tears with my hands too.
"They are happy tears, I'm not sad." I sniffed.
His smiled deepened, holding my hand he made me sit back on the chair, as a long line of waiters walked in.
Holding different dishes in their hands and lastly, came the waiter who was holding, a two teir elegantly decorated cake.
All the things were now covering the table as now I clearly began reading the text on the cake.
'Congratulations, future Mrs. Black'
My heart fluttered reading it, bringing a beautiful shade of red on my cheeks.
"Fiammetta!" Luca's voice came in my ears as I saw holding out a knife for me.
I raised my brow at the nickname, not knowing it's meaning.
"What does it mean?" To my question he just smiled and handed me the knife.
"Later..." Just that, nothing more.
Just that and I didn't ask him later.
Not when he fed me the cake, not when he was feeding me with his own hands, not when he drove me back to my apartment.
It just went to the back of my mind.
During the whole ride back, his hand was on my mine, it was a small gesture, a small one, but even that was enough to cause a high level wreckage in me, my heart was running a marathon .
Plus the ring on my finger, it was all making me giddy and happy.
Nothing else could've made me happier than this...
The best day of my life...
Well...not anymore.
Walking out of the lift, my whole attention was on the man beside me who was holding my hand, the man, who was no longer a random man.
But my boyfriend, Luca
He stopped midway, making me do the same, looking up front.
I stared at my brother, who was standing Infront of my apartment.
As soon as Kalix saw me, he furrowed, his stare turned into a glare when he saw Luca walking with me, my hand in his.
But he remained quiet.
I turned to Luca, smiling at him, so what if Kalix was standing in front.
It's not like he is my brother, he is someone else's brother, not mine.
"You should go now... I'll go by myself and text me when you get home safely, okay?"
Maybe he understood that I was ignoring Kalix or maybe he also had an argument with him, but He didn't even bother going to Kalix to greet him and simply walked back to the lift.
Waving me a bye, before the doors were closed.
"Where were you?" Kalix's growl entered my ears, while I pretended as if I hadn't heard him and began typing the pass code.
"I'm talking to you, Laurel!"
Still, silence.
"FOR GOD SAKE ANSWER ME!"
I gasped at the sudden shout, my breathe hitching in my lungs.
Taking a deep breath, I composed myself and turned around.
He was quite close to me, and because of the sudden closeness I involuntarily took a step back, making me almost bump into the door.
"We have nothing to talk about Kalix, Leave!" I said with every piece of courage remaining inside of me and quickly opened the door, entering inside before slamming the door right at his face.
I don't know, I don't know why I was doing this?
It wasn't a big thing? So why was I making this such a big issue, he misunderstood, right?
I went to take a warm shower and came back while drying my hair.
And instead of remembering the moments from the lovely evening, I was forced to remember the day when I had gotten scolded, humiliated and judged by the man, who was supposed to be the brother of this body I was living in...
It was a misunderstanding though, of course anyone would get furious if they had seen someone deliver a child when they don't know a single thing about it.
But still he should have at least given a chance to explain, without giving me time to explain he humiliated me, and then left me all alone, and not once did he texted or called.
Okay, even if he didn't at first, that was because he was still confused that maybe Cecily was really harmed by me, but when she got discharged, came back home safely. Not even then did he contacted me.
It was as if a long argument was going on inside my brain, questioning my own self for something Kalix had done.
The warm air of the hair dryer, kept touching my face, while I was busy using my brain.
I jerked those thoughts away from me, No! No more negative thoughts, Sarah... you need to think like an adult... A grown up adult, and to kick away my unwanted fate, I have to be practical.
Kalix is going to be the number one supporter of Laurel, and now I also have Luca, I don't have to be afraid of anything now.
Originally Laurel was to be obsessed with Cassian, that she was –untill I took her place– now Cassian can be with Elodie and I can spend the rest of my life, with one person.
Luca Black.
But to think of Luca, should I tell him about this?
Should I be telling him that he is not real, this world is not real?
Would he believe me? Will he trust me? Or will he call me a psycho and leave?
He is someone to be trusted though, but I'm still not sure.
I'm in a huge dilemma whether or not to trust the people in this world, I committed a huge mistake trusting Laurel, even when I had not seen her, I trusted her and she proved me wrong, wrong to trust her.
My phone's notification tone pinged as I switched off the hairdryer and walked to my bed where I had tossed off my phone earlier.
It was Luca,
'Tomorrow I won't be able to pick you or drop you, so I will be sending my driver to you.'
'He will drop you at your company and then later on will also come to pick you, okay?'
'Take care ❤️'
The texts that were more important were ignored for the small one with a tiny little red heart with it, just a heart.
A smile formed on my lips, staring at my phone.
Clicking on the keyboard button, I typed a text and sent it to him.
'It wasn't a big deal, I could have gone by myself, but thank you.'
'And you too, take care❤️'
The small message, sent back...
And then came another message, this time, no text, no nothing just a small little emojis.
'😳🫣'
Just that, and that was it too, I had gotten the reply I expected for him to send me.
Hardly a few hours later, maybe one or two hours, there was a doorbell.
It was the assistant manager of the complex, with a paper bag in her hands.
" Mr. Luca has sent dinner for you."
She was gone after giving me the bag, and I couldn't control myself anymore.
And I immediately dialled his number.
On the first ring he answered the call.
"Hello Fiammetta!" Again that nickname and again the same reaction.
My cheeks began heating up as I walked past the living room and kept the dinner bag on the kitchen counter.
"Why did you send dinner for me? I can cook you know."
I said, before taking a seat on the couch.
"Because I didn't wanted my other half, of barely a few hours, starving herself since she is tired."
"I won't starve myself! I know how to cook and I am not your other half yet! Other half is what you call your husband or wife and lastly I won't be getting tired just because I was sitting on my chair all day typing on my laptop."
I retorted to which he simply laughed.
"Who said you have to wait until marriage, I have already made you, named you, and confirmed you as my other half already? And if you want me to call you my other half only if we are married, it's your call, you say it and I'll get us married before tomorrow."
