"Oath" is the mysterious power that exists in this world, a power considered impossible, a power always regarded as fiction. There are various fictional events that occur in this world, some even recorded, yet no one believes those recording, "it clearly is AI", "why the bad quality?", "nice editing." they said. The government also denies them, claiming it's all just editing, but some remain skeptical of the government's statements. They believe that such power truly exists in this world, that it is hidden by the government, and used by the government.
This story begins with Dai, a young boy leading a normal life, just like any other child. Dai's family is wealthier than average; he lives in a fairly large house, and he is the only child in his family, the first and only child. He was deeply loved by his family, and as a child, Dai was disciplined and obedient, always listening to his parents' words. He was also someone who always wanted to learn new things. He would often go to his father's office to read the books on his father's bookshelf. His father was always surprised to see how enthusiastic Dai was about reading those books, even though children his age typically just wanted to play.
Five years had passed since Dai's birth, and he had learned many new things through the books he had read over the past year. His parents were very proud of him, and at that time, Dai received good news: his parents were expecting a sibling, which Dai had been eagerly awaiting. Dai was overjoyed, as he would finally have a sibling to protect and love.
However, that happiness did not last long. At midnight, Dai heard a loud noise outside his house. Suddenly, his mother came into his room and told Dai to enter a secret place he had never seen before while living in that house. Dai was confused and asked his mother what was happening, but she only told him to be a good boy and wait inside. Dai obeyed, entered the secret room, and waited, waited, and waited.
Dai had been in that room for two days, surviving on the food supplies available inside. He couldn't leave because it seemed the secret door was locked from the outside. While waiting, Dai was terrified, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, the secret door opened, and when he went out, he shouted for his mother and father. He then went downstairs to look for his parents, but he found bloodstains leading to the kitchen and saw his father's body. Terrified, Dai immediately ran to look for his mother but couldn't find her anywhere. He was extremely panicked. However, one thing he realized was that his mother and younger sibling were still alive and that made Dai panic's decrease.
Dai reported the incident to the police. When the police arrived, they were amazed that a five-year-old child is so calm in the situation that his currently in. Dai waited at the police station, waiting to be picked up by his grandfather, the only family he had. Dai and his grandfather weren't very close.
When they returned home, Dai's grandfather asked, "Son, do you want revenge? Do you want to know the truth?"
Dai, with a vengeful gaze and filled with anger, immediately replied, "Yes, grandfather, my vengeance will never fade. I cannot live in peace if I do not avenge my family. Not only that, my mother and younger sibling might still be alive; I must find them, even if it costs me my life."
"Hmm... However, this path will not be easy to walk. You are like me; you will walk a path filled with blood; a life bound by a blood oath. Know this, my child: your father died because of me, and my child—your mother—was also attacked by me. Now I'm powerless, son. I can't help you find your father, but I'll train you because you have my blood, the blood oath. And that's what they're looking for, son. Your mother has that blood, and it gives strength. Know this too: you'll walk a path of suffering." His grandfather spoke with great seriousness.
"Grandfather. I've lost my father, but I still have the chance not to lose my mother and sister. I must find them, even if it takes 10 or even 20 years. If that's how my life is now, then so be it, because I can't live with this hatred." Dai said.
"Is that so? You truly have my blood, the blood of ambition, vengeance, and strength. Even though you're only five years old, you think like an adult. Before you embark on this path, make a vow with your blood! Swear by your blood! Say, 'I swear, I swear by my blood, and I will live only for my revenge, for that is the blood oath.'" His grandfather shouted.
"I swear! I swear by my blood, I will avenge my father's death, eradicate that evil, and find my mother and sister, that is my life now! Life for the blood oath!"
After saying that, the grandfather suddenly slit Dai's chest, revealing his heart. Dai was shocked, but he lost consciousness.
Sixteen years had passed, and Dai had grown into an adult, now 21 years old. During those sixteen years, Dai lived with his grandfather in a fairly isolated place, far from both city and village. He trained with his grandfather every day for those sixteen years, training nonstop each day. During training, Dai's grandfather approached him and said, "Dai… It's time for you to leave. You still have plenty of time, but my time is running out. Go, find your mother and sister, and avenge your father. Eliminate them, for that is your purpose in life—to eliminate your enemies and avenge your grievances."
"Yes, Grandfather, but I will leave tomorrow. Let me spend this night talking with you for the last time," said Dai.
"Alright, if that is your wish," said Grandfather, nodding.
Night fell, and Dai and his grandfather spent their time talking about the past, the present, and the future. Dai's grandfather was very happy because he could talk with his grandson for the last time, for he knew that it would be the last day of his life. Morning came, Dai woke up, prepared his belongings to leave, and went to look for his grandfather. He saw his grandfather sitting under a tree. Dai realized that his grandfather was no longer alive, and he understood that his grandfather wanted him to bury him there, right under that tree. Dai buried him and did not forget to pray for his grandfather. Dai then left to begin his journey.
Dai had traveled to many places, searching for clues related to the attack on his family. He had only received one clue from his grandfather, and it was a symbol from the organization itself—a star with an eye in the center. Dai had asked many questions to obtain that information. However, the information he had obtained was still lacking, even though he had fought many street thugs, searching for people who knew about the star symbol in the center or even possessed it. Dai could not find a single such symbol.
When Dai went out again to search for the star symbol, he was approached by 7 people, and the leader of the group said, "Are you the one causing trouble with my members lately? Don't you know you're dealing with the wrong people? You've beaten my men so badly their faces are unrecognizable! How will you pay for this!" the leader exclaimed.
Dai responded by remaining silent and vigilant.
"So this is what you want. Well, then, pay with your life!" the leader shouted.
The four men attacked Dai, but there was one thing they didn't know about him: Dai possessed a technique that could only be used by those who had taken an oath, a power considered impossible in this world.
Those who had taken the oath, the blood oath, gained extraordinary power, power considered impossible in this world. However, the oath had been eradicated by the ruler, as the power of the oath was too great. The ruler feared that power, so he ordered all his followers to hunt down every blood oath-taker across the world.
Dai slaughtered the seven men, leaving one alive to speak—their leader. Dai asked about the star symbol, and the leader knew little, "The star symbol with an eye in the center? I don't know! But you might find information at the Night Club right across the main street; there are many people there with knowledge. Please! Please spare my life!" the leader said.
Dai looked into the leader's eyes and saw that he was not lying.
"I see… Thank you for the information." Dai said.
"Thank you! I truly thank you!" Dai left, leaving the leader behind.
However, what the man didn't know was that while Dai was asking questions, he had given his blood. That blood would later torment the man, spreading throughout his body and seeking an entry point, slowly torturing him through his bloodstream.
Dai went to the nightclub and sat down, observing his surroundings. The bartender approached Dai to ask for his order. Dai ordered a glass of wine while asking, "Do you have any information about the star tattoo with a central eye?"
"I'm sorry, sir, we don't sell such information here." The bartender said.
The people around Dai suddenly became alert, "Son, what you're looking for isn't here. Leave before this becomes a problem," said the man who approached Dai.
Dai noticed the tattoo on the man's arm, but it lacked eyes in the center.
"Where did you get that tattoo?" Dai asked.
"You don't need to know, boy. Now, leave!" the man said.
Dai stood up, slowly walking toward the exit. He surveyed his surroundings and estimated the number of his opponents. As the exit door drew near, he struck the person leading him to the exit. The others attacked Dai, but they couldn't do anything against him; they were too weak.
"Boy! You've messed with the wrong person. Get ready, because you won't die easily!" Cakarr said.
"Haha! Die, you young fool! He is Cakarr! Cakarr, the keeper of the guardian oath!" the others said.
Dai saw him; he had a different strength from the others. Cakarr had a different aura from him. Dai fought him, and he found it difficult to fight that person because he had the power of an oath, and that person's oath was the guardian oath, a power that strengthened the endurance and strength of its bearer. Dai realized he wouldn't win if he relied solely on his physical strength, so he slowly infused his oath's power into each attack.
The relentless, enhanced attacks overwhelmed Cakarr, forcing him to retreat.
"Why? Why can't my endurance match each of his attacks!" I am the guardian of the oath! Why can't I withstand his attacks even though my endurance is as strong as iron!" Cakarr exclaimed in confusion.
"This is the price for all your sins—death. Die miserably alongside your people," Dai said.
Dai suddenly slit the radial artery on his hand, causing a large amount of blood to flow out.
"Hahaha! Fool! Why are you attacking yourself!" Cakarr laughed.
However, Cakarr didn't know that Dai was the keeper of the blood oath, the oath of death. Suddenly, the people around Cakarr fell to the ground, lifeless. Cakarr was shocked by the incident.
"What? What's happening? Hey, you guys! Wake up! What's wrong with you?" Cakarr said in fear.
"They won't wake up; they're dead," Dai said.
"You! What have you done? I've never heard of anything like this anywhere!" What kind of power do you possess!" Cakarr exclaimed.
"Know this: I have sworn to avenge my father's death and find my mother. That is my power."
"You! Are you the owner of the oath of vengeance? But I've never seen the owner of that oath use blood!.. T-It's impossible. The ruler has ordered us to kill all owners of the blood oath! There can't be any left!"
Dai was startled by Cakarr's words, "You, do you know who killed my family? Who is that ruler! Tell me, and I'll let you live!" said Dai.
"Haha! So that's it, after hearing that, your calmness suddenly vanished, of course! The ruler is the one who killed your family! You won't be able to reach the ruler; he is protected by the eyes, who possess immense power! You won't be able to defeat them!" said Cakarr.
Dai, while calming himself, said: "So that's how it is."
"Let the ruler live—" Cakarr's final words.
Dai used the remaining blood from himself to summon Scythe and take Cakarr's memories.
Dai had obtained so much information. Now he knew that his opponent was not easy to defeat; he would not be fighting just one person, but an organization, and that organization did not stand alone—it was connected to the government. The "eyes" of the ruler were the keepers of the strongest oaths. Dai's journey was still long, and he couldn't avenge himself alone. Though his power was great, if he faced the organization and the government alone, he would lose. Dai was aware of this and would gather strength, slowly and surely.
