And Saitama was like an immovable pillar, planted where the defensive ring was under the greatest pressure. His movements were as simple as they could possibly be—
Punch.
Retract.
Punch again.
Every strike was plain and unadorned, yet carried a force that could shatter anything. Any monster that rushed him—whether it was a stitched-together behemoth the size of a hill or a shadow hunter fast as lightning—couldn't escape the fate of being blown apart with a single punch. Black energy wreckage piled up around him, only to be trampled and crushed by the next wave.
"There are too many! Doc—can you close that hole?!" Spider-Man shouted anxiously as he tripped a four-armed blade demon with webbing.
Doctor Strange's brows were knitted tight. Both hands strained to maintain a complex golden magic array as he tried to plug the breach that kept spewing monsters. "No! The breach is anchored by a powerful dark will! It's resisting my spatial magic! We need a stronger force, or… we find the anchor point!"
As everyone struggled to hold on and the defensive circle slowly shrank under the monsters' suicidal assaults, a completely different presence—one even more terrifying—suddenly descended!
Hummm——!!
The churning dark energy at the breach parted, as if brushed aside by an invisible hand. A figure slowly stepped out.
It wasn't a twisted monster form.
It was a clear humanoid shape.
Tall. Draped in a dark robe of ancient design, with ghostly blue patterns flowing across it like living light. His face was buried beneath the shadow of a hood—only two points of icy, star-like blue glow could be seen. No feral brutality leaked from him like the monsters.
Instead, he carried a deep, suffocating cold—dead silence so pure it felt like it could freeze time and space itself.
Pure dark energy circled him like a tame pet, forming rings of ghostly blue light around his body.
His appearance made the raging monster tide fall silent in an instant.
Like subjects in the presence of their king, the monsters lowered their heads and retreated to both sides, opening a path.
The mysterious figure's gaze swept over the crumbling defensive circle—then settled on Saitama, who was in the middle of blasting a giant beast apart with one punch. The twin blue lights flickered faintly.
A cold, emotionless voice—like it rose from beneath the nine hells—rang clearly in everyone's ears, carrying a lofty indifference:
"I am the envoy of the 'Abyssal Throat.' By my lord's command, I guard the gate of this world. You insects dare destroy the sacred crystal of our faith and disrupt my lord's grand design…"
"…you deserve ten thousand deaths."
The moment his words fell, an invisible pressure descended like a mountain. Inside the defensive circle, everyone besides Saitama and Doctor Strange felt their breathing seize—like a cold hand had clamped around their hearts!
The envoy slowly raised his right hand, fingers spread. Above his palm, a sphere of ghostly blue dark energy rapidly condensed and compressed, forming a spinning core that radiated annihilating fluctuations.
His gaze locked onto Saitama.
"Especially you… an anomaly with brute strength. Your existence is a mistake. And I will personally… erase you."
Whoosh!
The ghostly blue energy sphere fired without a sound. Its speed was extreme, targeting Saitama directly! Wherever it passed, a faint frozen trail was left behind, as if space itself had been chilled into stillness!
The blue-black sphere crossed the distance in an instant, shooting straight for Saitama's face—silent, yet carrying soul-freezing terror.
Saitama's eyes sharpened. He could feel it: the power in that sphere far surpassed any previous attack—more condensed and dangerous than even the crystal's backlash.
He didn't take it head-on.
Instead, he displayed speed worthy of his strength, his body flickering like an afterimage as he retreated sharply to the side and back!
