A twisted monster, its skin patched together from countless sewn-on faces, struck Genos with twin blades.
Ghost-level monster—Patchwork Face!
"Heh? Blocked it, huh? Looks like I've met someone famous."
The monster grinned, eager. Slaying a big-name hero like the Demon Cyborg would skyrocket its standing.
Genos's golden eyes were cold. "Found you. Patchwork Face."
"Ahahaha! Mind if I peel that face off?"
Its blades blurred like a storm, each slash carrying deadly precision. At its peak, its skill rivaled Iaian.
But against the upgraded Genos?
CLANG!
Genos caught both blades barehanded.
The monster's grin froze.
"High Voltage Punch."
BOOM!
Arc-reactor energy surged, frying it to ash. Clean. Efficient.
"Not bad at all, top-class S-Class hero, Genos!" Association staff exclaimed, watching through city feeds.
Then—"Genos, two kilometers east! A stronger ghost-class. The heroes there are down—please assist!"
Without hesitation, Genos leapt away.
Elsewhere—
Marshal Gorilla lay crushed, pulp on the street.
Carnage Kabuto flexed, blood dripping from his fists. "Pathetic. To call yourselves monsters—what a disgrace."
The gathered monsters trembled.
Queen Do-S shrieked in terror, whipping her thralls at him before turning to flee.
"Block him! Buy me time!"
Heroes under her control charged desperately at Carnage Kabuto.
"Run? If I let trash like you escape, my name's worthless."
He blurred—appearing before her. His fist thundered down.
But a cold voice cut in:
"Wait."
The blow froze inches from her face. The mere wind cracked buildings behind her, snapping her restraints.
Helen stepped forward, smiling faintly.
"A fascinating monster. Wasting her would be... careless."
Queen Do-S snapped her whip at Helen, trying to enslave her. She suspected this giant brute was following the delicate woman's lead. If she could control her—
Helen's eyes glowed.
One second later—
The dominatrix was on her knees.
"Master."
"Good. From now on, you're our piece inside the Monster Association," Helen said softly.
Queen Do-S bowed, utterly obedient.
"Let's move. Plenty of monsters left. We can't let them disturb Sensei's martial arts experience."
Helen turned, Carnage Kabuto following like a guard dog.
An alleyway.
Genos arrived, scanning the bodies of fallen A-Class heroes.
"Be careful... its speed is insane," one wounded man gasped.
"Noted."
A chuckle whispered from behind.
So fast! Even Genos was surprised.
He turned—
A red cockroach-man stood there, antennae twitching, four arms poised. Its shell gleamed, wings flexing.
"I despise insects. Especially cockroaches," Genos said flatly.
"Hehehe... I'm strong. You're famous, Demon Cyborg, but to me? You're just a stepping stone to raise my threat level!"
The Cockroach Monster bared jagged teeth, eyes gleaming with malice.
In the arena—
Lightning Max darted forward, lightning-fast strikes dazzling the crowd.
But faster still—
Suiryu's leg lashed out.
CRACK!
Max dropped instantly, unconscious, his face smashed into the tiles.
"..."
The stadium fell silent.
"S-Class... defeated?!"
"He was only A-Class level at best, but Suiryu... he's truly S-Class!"
"SU-RYU! SU-RYU!"
The crowd erupted, chanting his name.
Handsome, powerful, overwhelming—Suiryu's star blazed brightest.
On the judge's seat, Bang's eyes flashed. "Stronger than I expected... but he's learned from other schools already."
Bomb folded his arms. "Forget him. Watch that one. I want to see how he beat Garou."
They turned to "Charanko."
Unfortunately, Saitama's next opponent was no weakling.
Former champion—Bakuzan!
