Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Tonight, Takoyaki? Normal Punch!

Boom—

The deck of the cruise ship twisted and shattered like paper.

A massive tentacle, thick as molten iron, pierced up from below, sea water boiling into blazing steam.

Powerful limbs coiled tightly around Saitama. Then a second, a third… countless tentacles burst up from the sea, lined with hideous suction cups.

The surface of the ocean bulged, and a huge bald head emerged.

Saitama blinked, mildly curious.

Name: Giant Squid King

Type: Extremis Creature

Intelligence: 1

Strength: 5.5

Speed: 3

Endurance: 6.5

Energy Projection: 3

Combat Skill: 5

Justice Value: -2

Notes: Marine-type Extremis organism, can survive underwater, extreme regenerative ability.

Killian stood proudly atop the squid's head, grinning viciously down at Saitama.

If Saitama hadn't appeared in the Iron Man 1 world, Killian would never have unleashed Extremis beasts. He would've followed the original plot—defeated by Stark in his armor and finally finished off by Pepper Potts.

But now…

Saitama's existence had warped Marvel's history. To deal with someone far beyond Stark's threat, Killian had secretly developed Extremis beasts. This squid was his strongest experiment yet.

"Oh? Endurance 6.5, huh. Hard to kill. This guy's pretty strong."

Saitama rubbed his chin, letting the burning-hot tentacles coil him up like an animal in a cage. He looked completely calm.

"Hahaha! The Giant Squid has the strongest regeneration of all sea creatures! Even you might not be able to kill it!" Killian cackled.

But his laughter froze.

Because Saitama was thinking.

Such a huge squid…

Didn't Hops keep failing at that takoyaki business? Banner mentioned several times how Hops had gone bankrupt, spending fortunes buying octopus every month.

And now here was a giant one…

Even if he ate until stuffed, there would still be leftovers.

"Tonight… takoyaki?"

Drool glistened at the corner of his mouth as he swallowed.

"W-what…?" Killian was baffled.

On his command, the giant squid's limbs constricted fiercely. Its crushing force could have twisted a battleship like dough.

In an instant, Saitama was bound in the burning grip.

But the squid regretted it the very next second.

Crunch, crunch—

The horrific sound of chewing filled the air.

Killian's eyes widened in horror. His prized experiment, the Giant Squid, was being… eaten.

Saitama bit into the tentacles, ignoring the scorching heat, gnawing down like a bulldozer.

Crunch, crunch—

In moments, the massive limbs were gone.

"Mm… stuffed."

He patted his round belly and burped, looking satisfied.

Back in the One Punch world, he'd often solved money troubles by eating monsters. Like the kelp creature he'd once stewed into soup, or that mushroom freak…

Now this squid? To Saitama it was nothing more than a walking mountain of takoyaki.

The once-arrogant beast now trembled violently, shrieking in terror.

"What an awful sound. Takoyaki that tastes like this wouldn't even sell."

Saitama scratched his cheek and punched.

Normal Punch.

No flourish, full of openings, looking weak.

But the squid froze in primal terror.

Boom—

A visible shockwave, a hundred meters wide, ripped the ship apart.

The cruise ship nearly split in two, containers reduced to dust.

The blow smashed straight through the squid's skull.

Octopus meat rained from the sky, splashing into the waves.

Its massive head was caved in, brain matter charred black.

On top of it, Killian stood, half his body missing, face pale with shock.

Yes—half his body. Just a glancing blow from Saitama had nearly erased him.

"H-how… how could this be…? Am I… dying?" Killian rasped, despair in his eyes.

Yet the squid still lived. With endurance 6.5, even a pulverized head didn't finish it. Meat fibers writhed, trying to regenerate.

"Oh? Not dead yet?"

Saitama tilted his head, cracking his neck.

If one punch doesn't work, just throw another.

"Hahaha… hahahahahaha!"

Killian laughed madly.

The soldiers left on the ship were frozen in disbelief.

Half his body destroyed, and yet he still lived?

Saitama frowned as he noticed Killian's body sinking—merging into the squid's regenerating flesh.

"Saitama, no matter what you do… you'll rely on me!" Killian sneered.

His legs vanished into the squid's head, his ruined half regrowing with writhing tentacles.

"Only this body can withstand the power! The Extremis virus is far beyond what you've seen so far!"

His face twisted, eyes burning red-brown with madness. He raised a vial of black liquid.

Saitama narrowed his eyes.

This… looked serious.
