Saitama's calm eyes showed not a ripple.
If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, these battle-hardened Extremis soldiers would never have believed someone like this could exist.
A whole army pressing down—and yet he stood there, unfazed.
"Kill you? No, no… I've heard even S.H.I.E.L.D. invited you, but I'm not some weakling who just wants to chat. I've decided—you'll be the perfect test subject for the Extremis virus! Maybe something wonderful will happen."
Killian sneered viciously, waving his hand.
The Extremis soldiers raised their guns and unleashed a storm of firepower.
Explosions, shockwaves—yet Saitama stood untouched.
Not even a speck of dust marred his skintight suit, cape, or gleaming bald head.
If not for the twisted, melted deck beneath his feet, they might have thought the attack a dream.
"This body…" Killian muttered, his expression darkening. That much firepower, even with Extremis, he couldn't endure.
"You—attack! Kill him!"
He gestured to the Extremis beasts.
Yet he froze.
So did everyone else.
The savage monsters—usually uncontrollable, bloodthirsty fiends—suddenly acted like terrified kittens.
Their blood-red eyes bulged, their legs shook, and pitiful whimpers escaped them as they cowered.
Saitama said nothing. He simply walked toward them.
"Ten seconds. Disappear from my sight."
His voice was calm, cold.
Information flickered before his eyes:
Name: Extremis Lion
Type: Extremis Beast
Intelligence: 1
Strength: 5
Speed: 4
Endurance: 4
Energy Projection: 3
Combat Skills: 5
Justice Value: -2
Notes: Extremis-virus-modified organism, immune to heat up to 4700°C. Infected with viral chain—Justice Value decreased.
Name: Extremis Bear
Type: Extremis Beast
…
They were powerful, yes. Their lifespans shortened, their strength enhanced.
But to Saitama, they were boring. Too weak.
One glance from his dead-fish eyes, and the beasts quaked in terror.
Even Killian's neural bindings couldn't stop them from fleeing, screaming in madness.
In less than ten seconds, the monsters scattered. Some hurled themselves into the sea—where the water seared their flesh, peeling it to bone. Yet even that was preferable to facing the man before them.
"Are you all coming at once, or one by one?" Saitama tilted his head, curious.
"Protect the Doctor!"
"Kill him!"
"Don't run like those beasts!"
The Extremis soldiers roared, forming a shaky wall in front of Killian, though their bodies trembled in fear.
Saitama sighed.
To him, Extremis soldiers weren't truly human anymore—just more monsters. With Justice Values all in the negatives, mercy didn't apply.
He stomped lightly.
The power of Extremis—compressed and refined by his own body—erupted.
Red flames spread outward in all directions.
Steel deck plates melted, containers slumped, and soldiers screamed as fire consumed them.
8,000°C.
Far beyond their limits.
Their bodies turned to charcoal in seconds, frozen mid-charge before crumbling into ash.
Saitama wondered.
This time, the system's message had been "Survive." Did this mean there really existed something here capable of threatening his life?
Aside from that Thanos guy… could Killian be one of them?
The ship groaned under the strain. If Saitama had kept the flames burning longer, the entire vessel might have melted into the sea.
Killian howled, his Extremis body regenerating even as flesh burned away. He withstood what his soldiers could not.
"Ha… ha ha ha! The power of Extremis! I once thought 4700°C was the limit of biology, but your body… your body surpasses it!"
His laugh was crazed, his confidence eerie.
"Are you surrendering, or do I have to end this?" Saitama asked, scratching his ear, offering one chance for repentance.
" Surrender? Hahaha! Today, the one who dies is not me!" Killian howled.
The cameras—originally meant to broadcast Saitama's death—had been hijacked by JARVIS. Killian couldn't even share his show with the world.
"Oh?" Saitama tilted his head, curious at Killian's confidence.
"I wasn't planning on unleashing these beasts. But then I thought of you, Saitama. I know—if you appear, my plans crumble. So you must die here!"
Killian's grin twisted with madness.
Saitama blinked, then glanced down at the deck beneath his feet.
Something… was coming.
