It has been a couple hours since then, with Kaio sitting down before where Agrippa was knocked out, near the bushes where they fell down on. Enough time had passed where the young man slowly started to calm down from his panic-induced autopilot state, and is now somewhat more aware of his surroundings, and most importantly, his current predicament.
He once again looks around, the large bat-shaped stick still in his hands. Nothing but the dark greenery and thick forest around them, and the soft snoring of the large beastman behind him. He had already tried waking him up earlier, but to no avail. Nothing left for now, but to think about his next course of action, he supposes.
Ok, first step, think about where you are and what your current predicament is. Kaio, only a couple hours ago, had started, and eventually stopped reading a webnovel on his phone, and for some reason, he was instantly transported to the world of said webnovel. The work, titled "I Was Kicked Out of The Lowest Ranked Guild, But Now I Am a Powerful Sorcerer With an Ever-growing Harem", is pretty self-explanatory on what its plot centers upon. Satoshi, an isekai'd young man, was kicked out of the guild Agrippa was in, but in the story, all of them received the instant-death penalty for the most insidious crime of trying to leave the kingdom of Ars Nova.
Oh yeah, Ars Nova. From what little he had read, this is the noblest out of the 4 countries that make up the world of Sepea, the world he's currently in. It's the most fantastical out of them, with knights, witches, kingdoms and what not, with even its own tight-knit protection system, the 30 Astral Nova Knights, which Azora is part of, and apparently Satoshi will be too, judging by the uniform he was wearing in the novel's cover art.
Kaio couldn't help but let out a small sigh as the realization slowly seeped in. He already didn't know how the plot was going to unravel itself as, but now that he accidentally saved a character from dying at the hands of the protagonist, he really didn't know what's going to happen to hi-
"Hnnng…" A rumble suddenly rose from behind him, accidentally hitting the beastman's leg with the stick as he turned around to look
"Ack! I'm really sorry!" Kaio apologized, as the first morning sunrays seeped through the deep foliage.
The fox only growled in return, softly rubbing his head, some leaves falling out of it. "Where am I…" He muttered, looking around, before landing his eyes on Kaio and instantly standing up, taking a fighting stance. "Oh, so ya want a piece of me too?"
"W-Wait, I'm not here to hurt you!" Kaio blurted out, dropping the bat.
The fox softly raised his brow in suspicion, before relentfully lowering his arms too. "If ya say so… then who the crap are ya, are ya with those Knights that killed my party members?"
Kaio shook his head no, as since he saved the fox, they'll probably be after his butt too soon. "I'm afraid not, I was just at home a few hours ago, then bam, I'm suddenly here."
"Hm.. that beast said the same thing when he joined our Guild." Agrippa muttered to himself. "Are ya two related?"
Another head shake. "Outside of the fact we both came from modern day Japan? Not at all."
"Hm…" The foxman sighed softly to himself. "Fine enough. Name's Agrippa."
"Kaio. Kaio Monobe."
"Kaio, eh? Nice name." Kaio blushed softly at those words, but the darkness of the foliage hid it well enough for the beastman. "So, y'know where we are?"
"Not really. All I remember is that I accidentally pushed you down the cliff we were standing on, and you used some kind of beastman powers to ease our fall-"
"Bwahahahah!" Agrippa suddenly started to laugh, in a somewhat proud manner. "Ya mean to tell me we fell down The Darkened Chasm, and I used my Vulpes mana to live to tell the tale? Now that's something!" he proudly placed his hands on his chubby hips.
"Heh, I guess we did, huh?" Even with the foliage, he still remembers how the two of them were falling upwards to a minute before the foxman used his powers, so that means they fell from a pretty tall cliff.
"Well, we're in luck, there's a village not far off from here. C'mon, Kaio." With that, Agrippa started walking westward to where they fell from, with Kaio following closely behind him, giving a last look to the thick foliage above them before heading out.
