Chapter 4 - Chapter 3.5 - Knightly

A couple hours earlier…

Azora's ray barely scratched her target, instead being shoved by an unknown person who just appeared out of nowhere. But she didn't pay it no mind. This is The Darkened Chasm after all, there's no way those two would survive such a long fall.

"Couldn't find much of interest, Azora, just some gold coins and-" The swordsman's talking was cut short as he was heading out. He couldn't make much of the two men falling down, but he saw something unique. That hair… that spiked, bleach blonde hair, it's just like-

"Are we done here then? No need to worry about those two, they won't survive in the Chasm" Azora said, walking back to their own caravan. Still, to this day, Satoshi somewhat couldn't believe such technology in a world like this. The caravan, a horseless carriage, powered only by a staff placed in the middle of it.

"You're staring at it again, huh? El Cid, one of the 6 caravans made exclusively for us, the Astral Nova Knights" She started rubbing against the wooden side of the caravan. "I don't know why, but I have this feeling, that someday there'll be a seventh, made just for you." She said with a wink, as she got inside it, with Satoshi following closely behind.

The space was somewhat spacious, velvet seats on both ends of the caravan, with a fancy golden staff in the middle, on top of it lying a bright red orb, emanating pure mana. Azora sat down on the back end, with Satoshi sitting down next to her, as her hands slowly rubbed against the orb, making it glow even brighter, as the caravan slowly started to move. "It even has this world's version of a GPS system", he thought to himself as he saw the glowing points on the orb.

Laying down against the seat, Satoshi looked through the window next to him, the view of the chasm slowly dwindling as they got farther away from it, in its place the lush, green forests of Ars Nova, its staple, as one would say. As he saw the views, he started to think to himself. That hair he saw before those figures fell to their doom. There's no way it's HIM, right? It's only been a month since he arrived in this world, this can't be happening again…

"Hello? Sepea to Satoshi?" The mage snapped her fingers in front of the young man, cutting him out of his deep thoughts, her smile never leaving her face. "Looks like we got company." She said, tilting her head out to the front window, which showcased a young woman waving her hands frantically at the caravan in front of her, her green, crying eyes being very visible.

As the caravan came to a stop, the woman rushed to the door on the side of the vehicle, knocking on it. As Satoshi opened the door, he couldn't help but blush. The woman was small, about close to his chest height, with luscious pink hair that covered one of her emerald green eyes. She wiped the tears off her face, as it seemed like she was out of breath as well. "Finally… The Knights… we of Luca really need your help! There's been a daemon invasion at our village!"

Both Satoshi and Azora looked at each other, nodding to themselves before looking back at her. "What's your name? Show us the way." He said, making way for her to enter.

"It's Suzu. We don't know how this happened either, one moment everything was so peaceful…" She started to sob again, with Satoshi offering her a shoulder to cry on, to which she accepted."

"Must be some beastman slave that escaped nearby. We know daemons love their blood, huh?" Azora chuckled, moving her hands accordingly to where Suzu was pointing. "It's why we terminated most of them in the past after all. Where one of them lives, you bet there's at least a hundred daemons with them" She bit her lip in a small fit of anger, before quickly recomposing herself. "But don't worry, sweetie, we'll take care of them. We're the Astral Nova Knights after all, there's no foe we can't defeat" She winked at Suzu, making her smile while wiping her tears.
