Right now, Zyric was sitting on his stretcher, his eyes fixed on Hazel's laptop screen, watching the class recording with a mixture of excitement and relief for which he had been waiting for so long.
On the screen, Miss Grace was teaching the students with her usual confidence.
"Let me tell you all one thing before we actually begin this lecture. If any of you truly want to become a Monster Tamer in the future, then it is absolutely necessary that you must know each and everything about the Fuzan Vault," Miss Grace stated to the class in a serious tone.
"So, I want to first know how much you all have researched about the Fuzan Vault, and what exactly you know about it. Let's do this, yes, you there, the one in the first row, stand up and tell the class what you know about the Fuzan Vault." Miss Grace ordered a student.
The boy, following her instructions, stood up nervously and said, "Miss, in the Fuzan Vault we can keep our beasts. If we defeat a beast, then probably we can store it in our Fuzan Vault. When we defeat a beast, then maybe his heart melts and enters into our Fuzan Vault, and after that we can carry him anywhere we want by keeping him inside." The boy explained whatever little he knew about the mysterious Fuzan Vault.
"Alright, that will do. Sit down," Miss Grace asked the boy to sit, and then her eyes shifted toward Raven.
"Raven, you stand up now. It's your turn. What is the Fuzan Vault, and what do you know about it?" she asked firmly.
As soon as Miss Grace addressed Raven, the eyes of the entire class turned toward her at once. Many students had simply been waiting for such an excuse so they could openly look at Raven and observe her more closely.
Raven rose from her seat with grace and replied, "Miss Grace, I don't know everything about the Fuzan Vault, but I will try to share the few things I have come to know."
She paused briefly and then continued, "From what I have heard, in ancient times there lived a man, I don't know his name, who was the very first person to generate a Fuzan Vault. He was also the very first human who managed to force the mutant monsters to bow before mankind."
"One day, while fighting a monster, he somehow generated his Fuzan Vault. With it, he gained powers greater than those of ordinary humans and managed to fight that monster on equal terms. After he finally defeated it, the monster was absorbed into his Fuzan Vault, and that is how he discovered that monsters can actually be stored inside it."
"When the animals of Earth mutated and turned into monsters, nature had to give something to humans as well so they would not be destroyed. Nature gave mankind the ability to generate the Fuzan Vault, and that became the greatest weapon of humans to fight, tame, and store monsters."
After finishing her explanation, Raven quietly sat down. The entire class applauded her, including Miss Grace herself.
"Well done, Raven. You have done more research than most others and have prepared yourself far better than the rest of the students. Now, let me explain everything to you all more clearly, from the very beginning till the end. Everyone, pay close attention," Miss Grace said as she walked toward the digital board. A large image appeared there, showing the portrait of the first man who had ever generated a Fuzan Vault.
"Everyone, look carefully. This is the man we are talking about, the very first human to have generated a Fuzan Vault on Earth. He was one of those unusual individuals who used to secretly leave his home at night and follow after monsters and beasts in order to study what they could do and where they lived."
"One day, while he was spying a monster, a monster saw him. The monster gave chase, and he, in his turn, began to run with the very utmost of his speed for - his life. But the idea itself repelled him, because deep down he knew he wouldn't be able to run away. So, in frustration, he chose to battle the beast."
"In the fight, he was badly injured. Just when he thought his final moment had come, a ray of light appeared, and near his chest the Fuzan Vault was generated. Remember this- Fuzan Vaults always generate near the chest. Once his Vault was generated, his powers started increasing rapidly and he was successful in overpowering the monster easily."
Even the monster itself was stunned, unable to think of how a human being could manage to trounce it. But the man killed that monster. From that very point onward, the evolution of humans took a new direction."
"This man became stronger than the rest of humanity. Inspired by him, other people who no longer wanted to remain frightened inside their houses began venturing outside, chasing after monsters, and fighting them. Eventually they too generated their own Fuzan Vaults and they became the team that defeated monsters and recaptured Earth, with this initial man. They thus made the world a less dangerous place to live and a more secure one.
Peaceful environment, which we enjoy now, is therefore the gift it was provided by him. Otherwise, if we had been born during those ancient days, our lives would have been entirely different."
"And as Raven said earlier, she did not know his name, so let me tell you, his name was Charles Vincent. Remember this name well, all of you. Charles Vincent was the very first human who generated a Fuzan Vault and also the first one to tame a monster inside it."
"Now you may wonder what happens to a monster once it goes inside the Fuzan Vault. The fact is, a monster sealed inside, stays sealed inside for the rest of the monster's life. It needs no food or water in there, unlike when it is outside.
"Furthermore, after taming a monster and keeping it inside one's Fuzan Vault, the Tamer has the ability to merge his own genes with the monster's genes whenever he wishes. Let me give you an example: here, this cat sitting in front of me, if it were a monster and if it were in my Fuzan Vault, I could combine its genes with mine. I could become a mutant Humanite cat. And if the genes were compatible with my body, then I would be able to use some of its powers as well. This, in essence, is the true meaning of the Fuzan Vault. Do you all understand now?"
"This is truly fascinating, and it is also a very special privilege granted to Beast Tamers. Over time, as human civilization progressed, our technology became so advanced that we even learned how to call our monsters out from our Fuzan Vaults at will. As you can see, this remote in my hand, when I press this button while thinking about a particular monster, that monster will immediately appear from my Vault."
"Alright, half the class is over," Miss Grace finally announced. "You may take a fifteen-minute break now."
