"Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique" and "Water Release: Water Vortex Spear" were the most significant advancements Ryūsei had made during this period.
The "Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique," also known as the "Body-Binding Technique," could be considered the Sharingan version of the "Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death." Both were immobilization techniques. With the three-tomoe Sharingan, a single glance was enough to pull the target into the Sharingan's illusionary space, where Yin Release chakra materialized into several massive black iron stakes, stripping the opponent of control over their body.
This genjutsu was quite famous in the original storyline because a Kage-level fighter had fallen victim to it twice. That Kage-level fighter was none other than Orochimaru, one of the Legendary Sannin.
During this time, Ryūsei had learned the "Tree Binding Death" technique from Kurenai and fused it with the three-tomoe Sharingan's genjutsu abilities, ultimately developing the "Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique."
As for "Water Release: Water Vortex Spear," this wasn't the true version of the technique but rather a combined ninjutsu performed by Ryūsei and his shadow clones. It would be more accurate to call it "Combined Ninjutsu: Water Vortex Spear"!
The real "Water Vortex Spear" involved creating a water vortex in the palm of one's hand, compressing the nature transformation and shape transformation of Water Release into a water spear. This spear not only possessed immense piercing power but would also explode into a massive waterspout upon impact.
In Ryūsei's eyes, "Water Vortex Spear" was essentially the Water Release equivalent of the "Wind Release: Rasenshuriken." The principles behind the two techniques were nearly identical—both involved infusing nature transformation into an advanced form of chakra shape transformation.
The Rasengan was an extremely high-level shape transformation, with a training difficulty rated as A-rank. If one could successfully infuse nature transformation into such an advanced shape transformation without causing it to collapse, the result would be the S-rank secret technique, the Rasenshuriken.
Ryūsei didn't possess Wind Release chakra, nor did he know any Wind Release techniques. In the original story, Naruto's initial version of the "Wind Release: Rasenshuriken" was nothing more than an unfinished product that couldn't even be thrown. Thus, Ryūsei had never considered developing the "Wind Release: Rasenshuriken"—at least not for now.
However, he had contemplated infusing Water Release nature transformation into the Rasengan and had attempted it multiple times. Unfortunately, his mastery of Water Release nature transformation was insufficient, and each attempt ended in failure.
Then, one day, while practicing the "Spiral Water Tornade" with his shadow clones—trying to improve the technique's activation and formation speed—Ryūsei had a sudden epiphany. He recalled the Second Hokage's "Water Vortex Spear." Creating a water vortex in the palm and shaping it into a water spear—wasn't that essentially the reverse of the Rasenshuriken?
From that moment, Ryūsei began experimenting relentlessly. After numerous failures, he followed the same approach Naruto had used when first mastering the Rasengan—relying on shadow clones for assistance. First, he created a chakra vortex in his palm, then infused it with water to form a water vortex. By wrapping the advanced shape transformation around the less refined nature transformation, he compressed it into a water spear.
In the end, Ryūsei actually succeeded in recreating the "Water Vortex Spear." This achievement was largely thanks to the chakra control he had "dropped" from Sakura. Without this innate talent, even with the inspiration, he wouldn't have been able to realize it so quickly.
Before the era of Kage-level fighters, battles between shinobi were primarily battles of intelligence. The reason Kurenai was instantly defeated by Raiga Kurosuki was because she had been misled by outdated intelligence about him. Similarly, Raiga's death at Ryūsei's hands was due to his complete lack of information about Ryūsei. After all, who could have anticipated that, in addition to such powerful Water Release techniques, Ryūsei also possessed the three-tomoe Sharingan of the Uchiha clan, with genjutsu capabilities so formidable?
Given that Raiga had been unwilling to engage Team 8 in close combat to protect the person behind him, it was only natural that Ryūsei managed to outmaneuver him.
After landing on the ground, Ryūsei prepared to check on \\ Kurenai's condition. But at that moment, a scene unfolded before him that made his eyes widen in shock.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Several beams of light shot out from the dissipating waterspout, coalescing into multicolored orbs that hovered less than ten centimeters above the ground. These orbs were white, blue, and even red.
"Holy shit…" Ryūsei didn't freeze—instead, his lips parted slightly as he involuntarily muttered the expletive.
What was going on here?
As the orbs automatically floated toward him, Ryūsei counted them: seven in total—one red, one blue, and five white. This was the first time he had seen multiple orbs drop from a single target. Had he just saved the world or something? This luck was insane!
Suddenly, a realization flashed through his mind. Was this the true meaning of "defeating enemies to loot rewards"? Was killing an opponent the ultimate victory? Because the enemy could no longer pose a threat, the "score" reached its peak, resulting in such a high drop rate?
At this moment, Ryūsei felt as though he had stumbled upon the truth. However, with no way to verify it, he could only suppress his curiosity for now.
Turning toward Hinata's direction, Ryūsei summoned his virtual interface to inspect the orbs stored in his spatial inventory.
The first was the red orb. When Ryūsei saw the information displayed, he finally remembered what those red particles represented.
[Spatial Inventory: Kekkei Genkai – The Red Eye (Red)]
This was a Kekkei Genkai from an anime-original storyline. Ryūsei had already forgotten the name of its original user. That user must have been hiding behind Raiga Kurosuki, which was why Raiga had been so hesitant to engage Team 8 in close combat.
The Red Eye's abilities were somewhat similar to the Byakugan but were considered its natural counter. In addition to X-ray vision and the ability to sense an opponent's power, the Red Eye could also create illusions to disrupt the Byakugan's perception and judgment. The phantom images Hinata had seen, as well as her inability to locate Raiga's position, were all due to interference from the Red Eye.
Ryūsei couldn't help but inwardly complain, "If the anime-original Red Eye exists, does that mean the Ketsuryūgan is also real?"
For Ryūsei, this was excellent news. The anime-original arcs contained many valuable abilities. If he could obtain them all, his arsenal would undoubtedly undergo a massive upgrade. After all, who would ever complain about having too many trump cards?
Ryūsei didn't immediately fuse the Red Eye. Instead, he moved on to inspect the blue orb. Upon seeing its description, his heart leaped with joy.
[Spatial Inventory: Lightning Release Affinity (Blue)]
The blue orb contained a chakra nature. Once fused, Ryūsei would possess all five basic chakra natures. With only Wind and Fire remaining, he would become one of the rare shinobi in the world with an all-elemental affinity.
Without hesitation, Ryūsei fused it immediately. As the blue light seeped into his body, he proceeded to check the remaining five white orbs.
All five white orbs were ninjutsu techniques dropped from Raiga:
- Water Release: Hiding in Mist Technique
- Ninja Art: Rock Avalanche
- Lightning Release: Lightning Ball
- Lightning Release: Lightning Fang
- Ninja Art: Lightning Armor
Aside from the first two, the remaining three were Lightning Release techniques Raiga had used with his dual swords, Kiba.
As Ryūsei examined these techniques, his brows furrowed slightly. These weren't all of Raiga's techniques! While he didn't know exactly how many jutsu Raiga possessed, the white orbs didn't contain the lightning slash that had shattered his waterspout.
In other words, killing an enemy didn't guarantee all of their abilities—only about half or most of them. For Ryūsei, this wasn't good news. He had assumed that eliminating an opponent would yield their entire skill set. Instead, it seemed the system was subtly reminding him: "Before farming the most valuable drops, avoid killing enemies prematurely."
With this realization, Ryūsei abandoned the dark thoughts that had just surfaced in his mind.
