Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE: RED DREAM.

It's late at night, and the soft glow of a small desk lamp lights up Ji-Woo's pink petal bedroom.

On the floor, on the carpet, Ji-Woo and Ha-Joon are building a tower out of a wooden blocks, just like little kids.

Ha-Joon places a block carefully and she steadies it with a playful grin.

Suddenly Ha-Joon stops and lets out a sigh then a smile, he looks up at Ji-Woo who is giggling watching her phone now.

'' Ha-Joon are you tired you can go and sleep in your room'' Ji-Woo said, hands on Ha-Joon's shoulders down while he gathers the wooden blocks.

''Yes I am tired... I will go back to my room Ji-Woo, thanks for playing with me...''

''It's okay... leave the blocks I will deal with them..'' Ji-Woo said as Ha-Joon stood up.

He began walking away but suddenly stopped as his tracks and glances at Ji-Woo who's on her phone.

''Ji-Woo...'' he called out his voice small but serious.

''Yes... Ha-Joon-ah why the long face? come here....'' Ji-Woo replied, dragged Ha-Jon and sat him on the carpet again.

''What Ha-Joon...?''

'' Unnie... about what happened at the dinning table... why were you all nervous and serious?'' Ha-Joon asked his voice small.

''We weren't nervous we were you know.... it was so hot... so we were sweating..'' Ji-Woo replied with a nervous laugh,

''You are nervous now too....''

'' Why should I not talk to In-Su? and do you even know him?'' Ha-Joon asked and Ji-Woo nodded.

'' yes we know In-Su, you don't...'' she replied checking her phone again.

''So... since you know him why won't you let me talk to him...?'' Ha-Joon asked crossing his hands and pouting.

Hits his pouting mouth playfully '' Everyone just worried about you Ha-Joon, we think he's... different. And I don't know if that's fair'' Ji-Woo said giving a reassuring smile.

Ha-Joon's grey eyes widen in frustration '' different how...?'' he asks.

Ji-Woo sighs and tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear and puts a hand on both his shoulders.

''I don't really have an answer yet, even though I want to....'' Ji-Woo said nodding slowly.

'' Let me clean this up, while you go to your room, we will talk tomorrow'' she added.

Ha-Joon nodded but still looked trouble as he stood up and left Ji-Woo's room, she sighed as she watch him walk away with a worried and relief look on her face.

Ji-Woo closes her bedroom door softly behind Ha-Joon. No sooner when his foots steps faded down the hall than there's a light knock.

The door cracks open and Min-Ju peeked in, his dark hair damp and wet, and blue hair towel around his shoulder.

'' Ji-Woo.... My hair dryer's broken. Can I borrow yours?''

Ji-Woo raised and eyebrow and she nodded, she opened the door for him to enter and he slipped in.

''Come on in'' Ji-Woo whispered as Min-Ju sat comfortably on her bed.

Stroking his wet hair.

''ooh, thank you....'' Min-Ju murmured as Ji-Woo unplugged her hair dryer.

''Here '' she handed it to him smirking, but Min-Ju just smiled and made puppy eyes, Ji-Woo groans rolling her eyes.

''I knew it...I knew it was an excuse for you to come to my room...'' Ji-Woo said ruffling his wet hair.

''Do you want me to dry it for you?'' Ji-Woo asked waving the hair dryer.

Min-Ju nodded pouting.

He slides down and sat cross-legged on the carpet.

Ji-Woo perched in the edge of the mattress sitting over him, and plugged in her hair dryer.

Min-Ju glances up.

''I knew you love me... I am the most handsome and your younger brother'' He teases, she hits his head playfully.

''Keep shut...''

Min-Ju nods, smoothing a hand through damp strands. As Ji-Woo aims warm air at his dark hair, Min-Ju shifts his weight, half watching her.

After a moment he clears his throat.

''I heard what you and Ha-Joon talked about..'' he murmured.

Ji-Woo lowers her hair dryer surprised but steady '' you did?'' she asks quietly.

''Yes... I was behind the door, quiet for some time''

''Really?'' JI-Woo asks amused.

Min-Ju shifts again, tugging his knees closer '' do you think we should tell him, why... we asked him not to talk to In-Su...?'' Min-Ju asked quietly.

''No.. I do... to, I do want to tell him why... but you... you know the rules... until the Arcane coronator assigned him as the one... we will have to keep it a secret' Ji-Woo asked blowing his hair.

''He must find his power by his self before you know... we should tell him..''

''Yeah... I can't believe there is another world out there but he doesn't know..'' Min-Ju said and giggled.

''Yeah... he would be thrilled..'' Ji-Woo smiled looking else where.

'' I'm still waiting for the day... to tell him that he's li..''

''Shush mom said we should not talk about it.... or he might hear us..'' Min-Ju interrupted her mid sentence.

Ji-Woo gave him a small and understanding smile '' yes.. mom is super worried always for him.. I am too..''

''Who's not...? he's our cute Ha-Joon fragile and small'' Min-Ju said nodding.

Ji-Woo's jaw relaxes, ''Right..'' She offers Min-Ju a grateful look, and together they fell into a quieter conversation-hair dryer humming gently, the night outside peaceful and and still.

HA-JOON'S POV:

I sit hunched on my desk, my lamp casting a yellow light on my open notebook.

My pen hovers, then drifts to a stop when I place my hands on my cheeks. The words became blur.

My eyelids grew heavier, I'm falling asleep even though my book is half unread by me.

Then a yawn slips out, I rub my eyes. I leaned back on my chair, and stretched my hands, my limbs feel leaden. Finally, I switched off my lamp.

Darkness swallows the room. I push back my chair and let my self flopped on to my bed, pillows against my head, writhing seconds I drifted.

In the haze of dreams, I'm still standing in that same room but bathed in moonlight.

A figure appears, at the far end: A boy red eyes nods, the next thing I know, his short hair turned long, am no longer looking at a boy but a girl now... What?.

Her long black hair...swayed as if stirred by an unknown breeze. I can't move I only watch.

She lifts her chins and nod slow and deliberate ,as if telling me I have found the one.

The shadows seems to edge on her, yet there is something gentle in the tilt of her head.

Then she spoke- voice clear and soft '' I am the one you've been waiting for...'' she said and extended her hand. '' come to me'' she said, but I couldn't move I just watched desperate.

Her voice echoed in my mind, finally I reached out ,but the dream rippled beneath my fingers and everything goes dark.

I bolt upright on my bed, heart hammering. I flied my hands to my chest as I gasp for air.

Inside the dim glow beaming through the curtain, I catch the faint shimmer of my grey hair, raising and falling with each ragged breath.

The room felt silent again, but I can still feel her eyes on me, like she's still watching me.

''Who is she? why did I dream of her? she still has that black mask.... In-Su?''

I asked various question, hopping to hear answers from any where, anyone.

I am just confused.

But it's just a dream and as my mom said '' Dream don't come true they never do'',

I shook my head and slowly lay down on my bed drifting to sleep again, hoping I won't have any weird dream anymore.
