I placed the room aimlessly, feeling very anxious but about what really?
I couldn't even tell if the reason for my concern was worth the hassle! This is surely inevitable! There's nothing I could do to change the outcome of this….
"My lady, you're making me worried! What is the matter? Did Lady Evelyn…?"
"She did nothing, Joanna..it's just…"
I wasn't even sure I was doing the right thing by telling her what exactly my problem was!
"My lady, you can tell me anything. I am here to make your stay very comfortable…"
No, it was of no use telling her what I was so worried about.
"It's nothing. You may go."
Joanna was about to ask a question but she bowed her head instead and left the room.
I was alone and the tension got worse. I learnt from one of the guards that the Alpha would be spending the night in my room that night!
All this time, he's been staying in a different space, giving me time to get better and recover from the accident.
