Danzai jumped with full determination and courage. Despite leaping through the cliff, the sand panthers followed after them but danzai had faith that they would survive and that was pretty much all they needed. Luckily for danzai, they got teleported back to the academy a second before he hit the ground, saving him from certain death.
When they arrived, danzai realized that they were basically one of the last people to survive. Since they spotted Davi sleeping by a pole they thought he had probably finished first and decided to slack off till the test was over. Rin seemed trilled as he walked over to danzai's side and patted him on the shoulder.
"Now that I think about it,it was better that we didn't switch"
"Huh... What are you talking about"
"My bad... Carry on... I need to savour my victory"
Danzai watched Rin leave his side and turned to watch out for any other person that would arrive after him but none came, which made him realize that he was actually the last. After hours of resting,jack comes to the hallway with sky and addresses the embodiments.
"If you look around, you would realize that most of passed while little failed;a total of 989 people passed while 11 failed. Amongst the losers,5 died. The ones who took the supplementary test will join you guys later on."
Someone raises a question
"Sensei,is there a third test"
"There was... Until something came up but we're going to nayuta in three days time to fight against the fireflies in the grave"
Danzai's ears listened closely to hear what he is saying
"Based on your present performance in the second test, that's how you would get chosen to go on the mission. So first is davi..."
As usual
"... Rin,ai, Miya,ijin,... Sakamoto will be joining us"
Danzai didn't even flinch when jack finished calling out the names and his name wasn't among. To him , finishing last on it's own is a disgrace do there was no way he would get chosen
"The rest of you guys,rest up, training starts next week after our victory"
Oh well...at least I get to rest —
"Oh before I forget, danzai,join us"
Danzai turned to leave since he didn't process the information he heard until after a few seconds. Realizing what Jack had said, he turned in shock but jack simply smiled with an unclear reason for calling him
Sakamoto strolled through the city until 6 when decided to take a turn to his favorite cafe. After finishing up the meal,he decided to check on Arthur and cloud while there were waiting for Rin and danzai to get back from their trip. He walked over to their side and saw them lazing outside by the doorway so he called out to them to greet them. When they saw him,they were overjoyed and talked with him for about an hour until it was past 7
When danzai realized they had called his name,he felt relieved but decided to act normal for the time being. Even Rin and Ai felt proud of him but there wasn't a glimpse of smile on Jack's face like when he called the others. After addressing the others on the battle tactics he turned to danzai who was waiting with them.
"Danzai... I hear you have alot of potential... potential to become an embodiment killer"
"Huh?!"
Danzai was shocked and confused but jack continued either ways
"Killing the embodiment of luck is a lot of hard work right"
Danzai couldn't believe what he was hearing. If he translated this,he has been accused of killing the embodiment of luck which might cost him his life so he had to defend himself
"Wait that isn't—"
Two men walked and stood behind him.
"You should save it for later"
Danzai couldn't understand what was going on but one thing was sure, there is no escaping this without solid proof. Danzai scanned the area with his eyes until he caught sighting of a boy with onyx black hair and beautiful eyes staring at him with a smirk on his face
