When Tang San returned,
Ye Qiu was sitting cross-legged on the bed, meditating.
Xiao Wu was sitting quietly on the edge of her bed, still holding the candy Ye Qiu had given her. She was squinting, slowly licking and savoring it. She seemed to be in a good mood, though her eyes were still slightly red.
Tang San immediately understood what had happened while he was gone, and a wry smile couldn't help but appear on his face. "Xiao Wu, you didn't get into another fight with Ye Qiu, did you?"
Xiao Wu pouted, glaring at Ye Qiu, and said coquettishly, "Hmph! It's all his fault, always bullying me."
"Didn't you usually start it yourself?" Ye Qiu opened his eyes and glanced at Xiao Wu, annoyed.
"If you hadn't made me angry first, I wouldn't have started it," Xiao Wu said, grinding her teeth.
Tang San covered his forehead. He couldn't quite understand their conflicts, but after spending so much time together, he felt a strange sensation whenever Ye Qiu hit Xiao Wu. It was as if his own head felt a little heavier.
"Ye Qiu, you should find somewhere else to fight in the future. Xiao Wu is, after all, a girl."
Xiao Wu nodded vigorously beside him.
"Hitting places with more meat hurts less, otherwise, this little rabbit would cry her eyes out." Ye Qiu spread his hands, indicating it was a difficult situation.
Tang San had said this to Ye Qiu more than once.
Ye Qiu even suspected that this guy had sparred with him many times because Xiao Wu had been hit by him, and he was using the sparring as an excuse to stand up for Xiao Wu.
And Tang San was a bit strange. When Ye Qiu fought Tang San, even if Tang San didn't use hidden weapons, Ye Qiu knew he was much stronger than Xiao Wu. But this guy, when fighting Xiao Wu, always lost more than he won. The key was that sometimes, after finishing a fight with Xiao Wu, he would come looking for Ye Qiu without even catching his breath.
Ye Qiu was very clear about the little rabbit's full strength. As for where the problem lay, the answer was obvious.
Tang San sighed helplessly. He had expected Ye Qiu's answer. However, he still managed a smile, teasing, "Then you have to go easy on her. If you hurt Xiao Wu, you'll have to carry her tomorrow."
"Don't worry, I know my limits."
Ye Qiu smiled. He wasn't using all his strength, and he always healed the silly rabbit afterward.
"Huh?"
Xiao Wu was stunned for a moment after hearing Tang San's words. Then, her face flushed, her eyes brightened, and then dimmed again.
If Ye Qiu didn't have healing abilities, that would be great. Then, she could make Ye Qiu carry her, walking a long, long way, so she could stick close to Ye Qiu... no! So she could properly punish Ye Qiu!
"Alright, Xiao Wu, let's go eat."
Ye Qiu stood up and called out to Xiao Wu, but she didn't respond for a while. Looking back at Xiao Wu, who was lowering her head and savoring the candy, completely indifferent, Ye Qiu couldn't help but call out a few more times.
"Xiao Wu. Xiao Wu?!"
"Silly rabbit!"
"Huh? Um, Ye Qiu, what did you say?"
After Ye Qiu raised his voice, Xiao Wu finally looked up in a daze, not even minding that Ye Qiu called her a silly rabbit.
Tang San also looked at Xiao Wu with some confusion.
"Silly rabbit, what are you thinking about?" Ye Qiu stared at Xiao Wu, puzzled.
"I, I wasn't thinking about anything."
Xiao Wu's face quickly turned red. She responded softly, turning her head away defensively from Ye Qiu, her expression shifty and a little guilty.
"It's getting late, time for dinner. Why is your face so red all of a sudden?" Ye Qiu raised an eyebrow and stepped forward, cupping Xiao Wu's face to examine it closely.
"Ah! Get away! I... I'm fine, just a little hot, not feeling well." Xiao Wu shook her head like a rattle-drum, her face flushed. She even reached out to push Ye Qiu away.
Then, she simply pulled the blanket over her head, not wanting to see Ye Qiu. Her muffled voice said, "You go eat dinner. I'm not going."
"Not feeling well? That's not right."
Ye Qiu frowned; he had only spanked Xiao Wu a few times. Moreover, he had even healed her body.
"Haha... It's probably because you hurt her. Maybe it's not convenient for her to walk, right?" Tang San suddenly laughed, but there seemed to be a bitterness hidden within his laughter, a bitterness he himself couldn't even detect.
"Alright."
Ye Qiu looked at Tang San speechlessly, shrugged, and didn't force Xiao Wu. He gently patted the blanket and asked, "Do you want me to bring you back something to eat?"
"Yes, Sister Xiao Wu wants new, long, and straight fresh carrots."
Xiao Wu peeked her head out from under the covers, her little face flushed. She still avoided Ye Qiu's eyes.
"Alright, you get some rest," Ye Qiu said softly, and then stuffed another lollipop into Xiao Wu's mouth.
"Mmm, thank you."
Xiao Wu, lollipop in her mouth, looked at Ye Qiu and thanked him softly.
"Xiao San, want to go eat with me?"
Ye Qiu walked to the door and, as if just remembering Tang San, turned and asked.
"No need, you go ahead. I've already eaten with the teacher."
"Okay."
Ye Qiu waved his hand and walked towards the Notting Academy cafeteria.
Xiao Wu was sucking on a candy, enjoying the sweetness.
She touched her bottom, her face flushed red, and wriggled on the bed like a caterpillar.
Ye Qiu sometimes took good care of her, although most of the time, the care was a result of Ye Qiu's actions. However, it was also true that she was always the one to start the fight.
Xiao Wu was also very aware that she couldn't beat Ye Qiu. Every time she pounced on him, claws out, she would get a beating. But she just couldn't help it. Who told Ye Qiu to be so annoying! He didn't even know how to let her win! …
The next morning.
Tang San, Ye Qiu, and Xiao Wu walked out of the gates of Notting Academy.
Xiao Wu skipped along beside Ye Qiu, her small hands tugging at the single shoulder bag that Ye Qiu wore at his waist, a smile on her face, and occasionally bumping into him.
Looking at Ye Qiu's eye roll, Xiao Wu just smiled sweetly, then wisely restrained some of her laughter. She didn't want to anger Ye Qiu, or else getting spanked on the road would be very embarrassing.
Tang San also stood beside Ye Qiu, his eyes occasionally glancing at Xiao Wu, who was lively and laughing. She was really too naive and innocent.
After Xiao Wu had been hopping and skipping for an hour, under the scorching sun, the little rabbit couldn't hop anymore, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
Habitually holding Ye Qiu's arm, she leaned against him, listlessly saying, "Ye Qiu, how much further? Xiao Wu is tired."
"Who told you to hop and skip all the way? Just hold on a little longer," Ye Qiu rolled his eyes at her helplessly. He was also a little tired from being pulled around by this silly rabbit.
Xiao Wu raised her hand to shield the sunlight from her eyes, letting out a slight wail. "Ah, the sun is so hot! Ye Qiu, isn't your Martial Soul able to transform? Can you turn it into an umbrella so Xiao Wu can hide from the sun, okay?"
I wish everyone a happy life!
